APAT European Amateur Championship 2009 Live Update
Fatcatstu:
Thanks everyone, sorry i didnt stick around a bit longer, i was guided out the door by Phil and shoved into a car to go home in a bit of a daze.
It still hasnt really sunk in yet I dont think, well played to all the people i have played with, everyone has been superb and a pleasure to play with, very much hoping to see you all again at alot more live events next season!
Thanks again!

Just back from an absolutely AWESOME 4 days at Luton....what a rollercoaster of emotions !
The Team event was superb in it"s design and execution by Des, Tighty and Leigh. The format is terrific and keeps everyone involved right until the end. The atmosphere.....well......you had to be there really.
As for our England team, a big THANKS to Daniel for selecting me and I am glad that I managed to justify that selection....even if I DID lose to a girl.......ermmm......a GERMAN girl.........TWICE !!!
Seriously though, that first sit-n-go on day 2 was the most incredibly tense encounter that I have EVER played in my life. I knew that the other lads had all gone out early and the pressure on me to do well was enormous. By the heads-up against Silke, There must have been 50 people crowded around that table. A truly amazing game of poker to play in.
To Steve, Neil and John, well played guys and be proud of those bronze medals. We ALL played our part to get them. Hopefully, we will have the chance of another crack at this event next season....I know I want to.
To all the other players, especially the Polish Champions and French Runners-Up, WELL PLAYED ALL OF YOU.
To all the railers, thank-you for your support and words of encouragement throughout ..... it was much appreciated by us all.
I had a disappointing Saturday in the Individual event but enjoyed the night in the company of fellow BCPC members Tony "Luckbox" Trippier, "Dancing" Debjani Duncan and Andy "Ace-Jack" Overton (and his lovely wife Caroline)...thanx to you all....a cracking night peeps.
Sunday saw BCPC members Andy Duncan and Matt McKinlay return for day 2, with Andy unfortunate to go out just before the money, but with the consolation of collecting our £110 last-longer bet as consolation.
When Brian Martin exited before APAT's own "November-Nine" were decided, that meant that our own Steve Redfern was confirmed as No1 in the Live rankings for Season Three....Well done Mucka, you don"t win that by being lucky and your play and commitment over 2009 as a whole makes you a worthy winner, even if your anti-railing may need some fine-tuning !
That just left Matt to come through and although he didn"t win it, he did make the Final Table and that means that our BCPC have had someone on the FT of EVERY SINGLE LIVE EVENT in Season Three....a remarkable feat. Well Done Matt, a thoroughly deserved result.
Finally, I ended this great festival in the best possible way when I won the Omaha event. I am quite proud of this as it was only my 2nd ever live shot at Omaha and enjoyed the experience so much. Hopefully I can represent APAT well when I return to Luton on December 2nd to take up the added prize of a GUKPT seat in the £250 event, aswell as the Champion Of Champions shot on December 5th.
APAT....thanx for an awesome 2009.

While I am not speaking on behalf of the G in any management capacity, I can safely say that, as dealers, we all had a brilliant time dealing for you all over the course of the four days and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did over the course of the festival, irrelevant of results.
It"s refreshing to be able to work in a poker environment with a group of people that do not take the game, or themselves, overly serious to which we had a mood through the duration of the entire festival which was fantastic.
However, it"s 5am and I am going to enjoy a chance to get a lengthy amount of sleep. I hope you all have safe travels home and I am sure we"ll see you again.
George.
Curlarge:
Morning all
I think the adrenalin has subsided now from what was a fantastic experience on the FT and the tourney as a whole.
I can tell you that it certainly beats busting out first as I did in the World"s at DTD in August!!!!
Thanks to all at APAT for a fantastic weekend and as a Luton regular hats off to Niall (it"s an anagram of "ALL IN" - did he mention that???) and all of the staff at "the big G".
Congrats to Stuart for a great performance and Steve for the league title, if fact congrats to all that played, it was by far the friendliest, most sporting event I have ever had the pleasure to play in.
Here"s to a healthy and successful 2010.

Morning
Just wanted to thank everyone involved over the last 2 days. With this being only my 3rd live event, to come 4th was fantastic and yes rode my luck on more than one occasion (hitting a flush on the river when i should have folded and not got involved). Thank you again to everyone at APAT and G Casino and i will be back next year for my "one live tournament" to have another go.
Congrats to Stuart and finalist on final table.
Cheers
