APAT Central European Championships - Live Update
Chipaccrual:
We"re all off on a European Tour.
This weekend, APAT hits mainland Europe once more for the APAT Central European Championships and we"re planning on bringing you all the details from the Concord Card Casino in Vienna, Austria.
Technology permitting and travel plans permitting (Myself and Tighty are on the same flight), we"ll give updates, photos and witty comments on everything APAT and Austrian, live from the cardroom. It all kicks off on Saturday afternoon.
Chipaccrual:
As is becoming the norm with these updates, we"ll run a pre-tourney competition.
Hard to say exact numbers that we"ll have in Vienna, but news from the casino is very positive for a large local turnout.
So, what about the APATers that secured seats through the holding tanks.
All you need to do is select which one of them you think will last longest in the tournament this weekend, and as a tiebreaker, what position do you think they will finish ?
Here"s your choices : -
David Llewellyn - Showing good APAT form this season, could a Welshman bring home the trophy ?
Don Logan - More used to overseas cricket tours than poker tours, will he make your selection ?
Gianluca Ragusi - Our Italian APATer has the shortest journey, will that make a difference ?
Philip Tompkinson - Stockton-On-Tees skipper, massive support behind him. Must be in the top 10 for selection ?
Gregg Keattch - Chelsea fan, so high on confidence. Will his concentration be on the poker or the FA Cup final ?
Gerard Smyth - Possibly the best poker player named Gerard Smyth never to have won an APAT Championship ?
Paul Davis - Win it for the Mods Paul. That is all.
Don Roberts - Can the "hammerman" go one better than at The Vic ?
Paul McGuinness - This guy invented Hi/Lo Limit Omaha without the Ace of Spades. One to be watched.
James Grimes - Joined the forum a month ago, booked flights and hotel, now playing in Vienna (Hopefully)
Post your pick and what position you think they will finish the tournament.
The prize will be something luxurious and expensive, if Des is buying it, or whatever I can find lying around the house that is poker related, if it"s down to me to sort.
Good luck.

Out first I"d imagine...with AQ vs A7 as has become standard for me when they bink.
I fancy the Duke to pull one out of the bag this time...and he might win the comp too! ;D
lukybugur:
Gerard Smyth and 10th (assuming he doesn"t win it). He"s classed as tight-passive in European company. It might just do him some good.
Big GL wishes to all but especially Phil and Paul.
Waz1892:
Gregg Keattch - 19th.
