APAT English National Amateur Championship: Day 1 Live Update
tumblet:
Yes good luck to those still in and especially all blones ( ??? )..
It was a good day, found myself batling hard all day, winning a couple of races, and nearly having my Aces cracked only for the one outed on the river to give me the higher set..
Nice to meet a load of new faces, and will be keeping an eye on today..

I"d like to add my thanks to all who helped organise the day. I was chuffed not to be out first and somehow rode my way to 31st. I had plenty of fortune along the way, such as when my 85 crushed AK and every blag seemed to work for me. I guess I was storing up the karma for when I looked down at the second of my back to back cowboys and decided to reraise the bigstack but unfortunately he held the rockets.
Good luck to Tankman Dan - bring the trophy back to the southwest meetup group k, plz, thanks.

And we"re in the money! Sadly, the gentleman who was eliminated in 22nd has left the building with his number, and nobody knew who he was. So we don"t have a name! We think it"s Neil though.
LOL. the gentleman eliminated 22nd was indeed the young, talented Neil Shellard. Having read somewhere that aggressive play around bubble time pays dividends, decided to make several grandstand plays running pocket sevens into kings and a-j into a-k. Unfortunately the best hand held up on both occasions leaving him feeling like something very sharp and pointy had been inserted into him, hence the dissappearing act.
