Trust me when i say the standard hotel rooms look nothing like the apartment above.

The location is first rate for the casino obviously, but the double rooms are fold down beds and are tired
but functional. If you happen to have had a sloppy security guard on that day the door onto the pitch
may be open and you can enjoy a quick beer sat in the stands or pretend to be a player and do your morning
workout of laps round the pitch in the morning.

The only other walkable hotel is the Novotel.

Thanks but that was the point of my post...we"ve already warned that the "standard" rooms are boxes during the day.

If one wants to pay the £20 extra to bet the "Apartment" then I would hope that they are better standard.

The hotels in the centre of town would be more convenient for the station but then you"d still have to shell out for taxis. I doubt if many of them have free parking.

Chacun a son gout as my olde French teacher used to say...I like chain hotels...you know what you"re gonna get and you get points too.

True enough although when you look at the pics you see £50 above and could be misled and find yourself in a pitch side box. Not that the pitch side boxes are that small. Just tired with fold up beds.

BTW the Ibis in the city centre always had free parking. As did the (gulp) F1 hotel next door.

monkeyman:
Although its a bit further away, the Ibis Coventry South is currently available at £30 per night
