ThinkerJE:
Well done to Richard Offless, the new English Amateur Poker Champion after a brilliant performance at Walsall this weekend.

However, let us pause for a moment and take in the reign of the previous English Amateur Champion, Kinboshi himself, Mr Daniel Phillips.

It seems like much longer than 14 months ago that Dan was crowned the first APAT national champion.  Things have moved on at a great pace since then and APAT has gone from strength to strength.  I don"t think any of the 120 players at the Broadway that weekend or even Des himself could have imagined the impact the APAT would have in the following year.

The members of APAT could not have asked for a better champion to represent the APAT than Dan.  Well done mate on your reign as the English Amateur Champion, you have done us proud.

In the immortal words of the chairman, "its been emotional"...

hats off to anyone that wins a national

kinboshi:
Cheers James, very kind words.

I think Rich has raised the bar now.  The only champ to have made two final tables (I think).  When I make my second final table I"ll be happier.  Much happier if it happens to be the final event of Season 1 ;D.

ashhen:
Well played Rich - and hard luck to Kinboshi. I"m sorry I didn"t manage to take your chips too much further.

I couldn"t agree more.
