Division 2
This division was super competitive, filled with teams that just missed out on the big prizes from the previous season. Every team picked up points along the way and as we headed into the final matchday, everything was still up for grabs.
Champions
Stockton led the way with 11 points, Solent were 1 point behind, but drawing level would not be good enough. Dublin were 3 points back, but a win for them and the other two getting zero points would see them top the division.
Promotion
Both Stockton and Solent secured promotion after Matchday 9, so the last place was between Dublin (8pts), Sheffield (7pts) and Birmingham (6pts)
Relegation
Any three from North London, Dundee, Plymouth, Newcastle and Brighton. All would need points to stay up.
Matchday 10 started with all ten clubs needing points for either promotion or to fight off relegation. By the time the final table was reached, destiny had decided on a few of the clubs.
The final table consisted of three from Birmingham , two from Stockton and Solent and one each from Brighton and Dublin. Sheffield's fight for promotion was over, and North London and Dundee would be relegated.
Plymouth's fate would be decided on whether Eddie Benson from Brighton could finish high enough to bag 2 points for his club and secure Division 2 poker for them.
Dublin would be promoted as long as they didn't get zero points and Birmingham won the matchday, and it looked like a straight battle between Solent and Stockton for the title.
By the time the final table was down to five players, it had all been decided. Birmingham had lost one of their players, but the Dublin player had also exited. Both Stockton players had gone, which meant that Solent were guaranteed to be champions. As the next player exited, Birmingham were guaranteed to win the matchday, and amazingly sneak into the final promotion spot. This meant that although the Brighton player was still in, his club could only pick up one point, and that wouldn't be enough to avoid relegation.

Leigh Efford won the final matchday for Solent, and alongside his team mates, Maggie Holt, Andy Hall and Andy Heath, will be playing in the APAT Pro League event in Nottingham in August.
