Amsterdam Master Classics Final Table
Daut44:
ahhhhhhhhh im losing it
nancy is on business call i need to hold for alone for now, lets do this schafer!!!!!!!!
Djinn:
Eric Larcheveque in the big blind responds to another of Michael Martin"s preflop raises by re-raising 100k. Martin immediately announces, "All in."
Arms folded, Larcheveque just sort of contemplates his stack, then Martin, then kind of the middle distance, then the stack again. He passes. More for the Michael Martin mountain.
Djinn:
Undaunted, Eric Larcheveque, who according to the walk-on announcements is a Frenchman who lives in Latvia, and seems a very nice gent, raises it up to 38k on the button. It"s just not his day - Tristan McDonald in the small blind immediately shoves, and he"s unable to call. I think that might be the fifth push from McDonald - any bets on how many times he gets away with it uncalled?
STILL undaunted, Larcheveque moves all in the very next hand only to find Michael Martin moving his huge stack in too - that can"t be good, and it isn"t:
Martin: ks kc
Larcheveque: ah qc
Flop: kd :3d: :2s:
Turn: ts ("JACK!" suggest the optimistic French press)
River: 7h
So the continually re-raised Eric Larcheveque is the 6th place finisher, winning €87,000
(That last one is of Larcheveque getting a commiseratory hug from Norinder. There seems to be a real camaraderie between the finalists. It"s just lovely.)
Djinn:
Something happened preflop which ended up with Michael Martin and Noah Boeken facing off on a flop of :2h: :2s: 9c. There may have been a third player in too - but not after Martin bet around 60k on the flop and only Noah, out of position, called.
Turn: 9d Noah checked, Michael checked.
River: Something small (we can"t see too well, and when I asked Benjo he said "It was a Monopoly get-out-of-jail-free card." Thanks, man.)
Now Noah checks again, and Michael picks up a stack of whites and cuts them over the line - a total of 102k. It, however, is ruled as a string bet (in Europe it"s one motion only or any bet goes as whatever the first amount was to hit the felt - not his fault - they do that cutting thing all the time in the States) - so it"s a small call of 25k for Noah... he makes it but then mucks when Michael shows what looked like qh qs but could have been any face-card combo.
danafish:
A sizeable yet cagey hand between Martin and Norinder.
Norinder raises and Martin calls.
Flop - 5c :3d: 5h and they both check.
Turn - td - Michael Martin checks and Norinder bets; Michael calls.
River - kh - again, Michael checks, and then calls Norinder"s 42k bet.
Afraid I couldn"t see what Michael was holding, but I"m guessing it was some kind of Ace or middling pocket pair, as Norinder"s K-J is good and he takes it.
