APAT World Amateur Team Championship: Live update
CnadnBvr:
Just back in from the airport and an 8 hour flight. I will make a trip report post in the next few days, but I just wanted to quickly say thanks for a fantastic event and I know that I haven"t met a greater group of players in past. You all made the trip across the pond well worth it. Cheers to all the boys from the Wales squad and well done on the win. It takes the sting out of losing when you actually like the people you lost too. The APAT crew, fantastic job, you lived up to everything I was told about your work.
I hope to see you all soon again
Cheers
Michael Christison

I didn"t quite know which thread to use for this, but I"d like to heartily congratulate everyone who won a medal this weekend. I"d also like to extend my personal thanks to everyone at DTD, Betfair, Des, Tighty, Leigh and the whole army of APAT helpers for making this weekend supremely enjoyable. So until next time... ;)
Cyntaf:
Well, thank you very much for all the support shown towards Team Cymru, both on the forum and at Dtd. It made the event even more enjoyable sharing the laughs and quiet digs throughout the whole event.
A huge Congratulations and thanks to Dan, Dylan and Richard for their excellent performances, and their friendship. This past week will stay with me forever.....Cymru am byth :)
Well played to Canada, great team, well travelled and put together by Craig at short notice, they really are superb company. Also to Northern Ireland, great showing and special congrats to Colin O"prey, 3 wins from 4 in the 6max. Lovely fellah, great company and a legend of Apat in my eyes. Very unlucky Spain on the medal bubble, thank you for making the journey along with all the other countries that have travelled and helped to make this tourney just what it was....Golden.
Thank you to all the regulars at Apat, Richard, Leigh, Des and the rest of the team for all the hard work, keeping the coverage going and also for the chance given to me to Captain Our very own country in a cracking event. I speak for the whole of the Welsh team when i say words fail to describe just how proud each and everyone of us were to play in this event irrespective of any results. Obviously it"s all the sweeter to take the Gold medal and to be able to say,
"Wales are the World Champions"
It really has been a stunning five days at Dtd, great atmosphere, dealers and staff all nice, best wishes to Chantelle, You"ll make a great mummy and thanks for looking after me, keeping me supplied throughout the tourneys :)
Special mention to Betfair, the extra value that they gave to the whole event(and the whole season really) is just fantastic, beyond anyones expectations, well mine anyway.
Last but not least, a mention for team England, who suffered a very bad run of beats. Unbelievable really, however they were dignified and showed great support for both wales and the event itself. You are a bunch of top blokes, i really enjoyed playing against you on a couple of occasions aswel Paul. Anyhow i am sure you will bounce back, just as we have. All the best for the future to all countries, and if your not in it. Start sorting a team out now for next year, you really will have a ball.
Cheers
All the best
Paul Mac :)

Congrats to Wales and gold in the team event, great bunch of blokes and well deserved victory to Paul and his team. Well done to Canada with silver, and to our wee country in bronze medal position. It was a pleasure and so much fun to be involved in this event with such a great team against some worthy competition. I would like to that APAT for organizing and making these events so special.
