Basic Plan #2 - Saturday Morning/Afternoon - I suppose we"ll have to play poker at some point

Food

Continental Breakfast...I think not.

I understand that the White Horse serves a large full English..plus Guinness for the extra vitamins. A stroll down the front to the White Horse should take about 5 minutes or so and from there it"s a 10 minute walk (pretty much straight north) to the Casino.

I expect the walks involved here to serve as a decent recon for the nights entertainment. Of course, I expect a fair amount of time to be spent at the tables in the casino bar but at too many APAT events I see nothing of the area. I intend (feet permitting) to rectify this in Lloret.

Drink

No specific plans but The Seven Seas might be a thought...not far from the White Horse...before evening food. I think the Route 66 is close to there too.

See this MAP with some locations already added...(not by me)

Food - Evening

Blood-Alcohol level permitting...I quite fancy the Orient Express (Map It) just down from the Excelsior. It"s also the #1 rated restaurant on TripAdvisor for Lloret...but we"ll see how things go.

Will not be arriving in Lloret until 11pm and have good lady in tow - we may wander to Gerry"s depending on how tired the good lady is.   However the fullenglish sounds perfect on Saturday morning.....we will be there and will enjoy the rest of the weekends finest entertainment....and oh yes the poker too.... ;o)

So the plan is to go all the way to Spain to sit in a British pub full of Brits and eat British food and drink British beer? That"s made me less envious I"m not going now, I can enjoy the same experience in my local. Surely something more adventurous can be attempted?  I want to hear stories of APATers indulging in Spanish culture, mixing with the locals, falling into Spanish water features, that sort of thing.

Of course, we"re British tourists heading to a Spanish resort dominated by trade that caters to British holidaymakers and ex-pats....so, what"s your point? Anyway, Guinness is Irish.

With there being over 30 people going I can"t help but feel that there may be some self-guided tours of the local establishments.

I"ve only outlined a basic plan within everyone"s comfort range which will allow us to do some recce for the experiences you are seeking...can"t give too much away or there might be a flood of late entrants and Leigh might win the bet.

Regardless, I always try to engage the locals but sometimes they speak so funny it"s hard to make any headway... at least that"s been my experience in Swansea, Aberdeen, Coventry and Nottingham.

Vienna was OK as we had a helpful taxi driver to find the Austrian "culture". As for Dublin, we fully engaged in the Irish culture and never left Larry Murphys.

I understand that the lads engaged in some culture-spotting in Tallinn but I wasn"t there so I can"t confirm...DAMN IT!, DAMN IT!, DAMN IT!

I think this happens when they transfer the money to the venue...it"s usually deducted again and then refunded (!) but perhaps they"re going about it differently this time. It all sorts itself out within 24 hours usually.
