Santino67:
In work today at lunch time saw a girl heating up super noodles in the micro. Nothing wrong with that TBH.........until she whipped out a pair of chopsticks to eat them  :D WTF?

For those who don"t already know and haven"t seen my FB page. 30th November will see me play the Home International team event with my new, but as yet unformed, moustache. Strangely, this will have vanished when we sit down the following day for the individual tourney. Of course, it can only be Movember  ;)

Myself and my colleagues/team mates had our final shave this morning so I"ll keep you posted with updates. If you"re keen to find out moreabout Prostate or Testicular Cancer, gain or raise awareness, or make a donation then please feel free to follow my link

Santino67:
An epic weekend with so many highlights was had by all in Stoke and I can"t thank Des, Leigh & Matt enough for arranging these amazing events.

Thursday night was a riot with much alcomahol and the worst excuse for a poker cash game I"ve ever been involved in  :D Such fantastic company round that table made the whole night so memorable and the 5am finish didn"t dampen the spirits.

Friday"s team event was played in the best spirit ever with superb banter round the tables and some great play. I was chuffed to get off to a good start by winning my STT NLHE for 8 points. Apologies to big Curly for my terrible miss-read which saw me double up in the PLO against his double suited AA, but didn"t help me avoid going out 7th after playing like a complete novice. Very disappointed with my performance in that one, I got a point more than I actually deserved. The MTT gave me a chance to redeem myself and I was going along nicely up to 18k, but with blinds at 800/1600 didn"t leave much play. I duly ran my PP (77?) into the KK of Carl while he was running on DRS. That left me with a few BB"s and I duly went out shortly after in 14th place. After a very poor start for Scotland A Team I"m glad we played ourselves back into things, climbing from 7th to 4th and a shot at a bronze medal. Unfortunately we missed out on that after losing the play off to England B, who deservedly took the spoils. Big Thanks to Jo for choosing me to join the team, I hope to do the same again  ;)

The individual main event on Saturday started badly after losing a few decent pots, 2 of these with QQ. I went down to 8k fairly early but clawed myself back into things midway through the day to reach about 30k. Crucial hand around this stage saw me flat a min+ raise & call on the button with KQ suited. On the flop of Q55, I had the rest of the original raisers 8k chips in the middle with 10/10, only to see a 10 spike on the turn and leave my stack pretty much crushed with the blinds now elevated. I never got going again after this and with blinds at 500/1000 shipped my last 12kish in with 88 only to run into Karen Mead"s JJ on her blind  ::)

Huge congratulations go to my fellow Scots in the B Team for their Gold in the team event. They played a strong game throughout and were worthy winners. No disrerspect to the England B Team, but any other HU result would have been a travesty after the STT & MTT performances.

To the monster that is Carl Pilgrim, there"s no more can be said about his awesome achievement that hasn"t been covered already. I rate him hugely, both as a player and a man, he"s just legendary. Well done also to Adam Sharples and Stu Ward for their ridiculous "chop" in the Stud and to Darren Shallis on his PLO win.

APAT events never cease to amaze me. Just when you think you"ve been blown away on your last trip, another comes along to provide more enjoyment, laughs, friends and memories than ever before.

Here"s to the next one  8)

For a fair amount of time now I"ve considered going back to play a bit on Betfair. Those of you who know me or read any of my blog will know it was a happy hunting ground for me over the first 2 or 3 years when I started out. Playing with changing APAT sponsors in last couple of years has meant I never got my Betfair account going again after withdrawing my funds when I got made redundant.

So I gave in to my demons recently and made a small deposit, started playing micro cash without making much real progress, then in past few nights started playing in tournaments. Last night I cashed in a late night $11 game, though only for just $24, then tonight ran deep in their $1500 guaranteed, finishing 4th of 371 to get $140+ for the cost of just $5.50  ;D

Not massive amounts of money, but would love to get this account going again like I did before. Stick to the low buy-in games for now and see how things run.........I"ll keep you posted  ;)

Cheers to GiMac, Shaz Roberts & Karen Mead for railing while I was into the 2nd half, much needed beyond 1am onwards  8)
