Regions in Online Series

(1/1)

monkkiie:
what"s the meaning of "regions" in an online series?

in a live tournament, a region (Irish, English, etc.) means that"s where the tournament is held, and that makes sense.

in an online series, since everybody can join in, a "region" (Irish, European, Japanese, etc.) really has no meaning. you should either drop the regional monikers and use something else instead (like the month or the season) or only limit users from a certain region to join.  ???

Jon MW:
It has nearly as much meaning as a European Grand Prix, or US Grand Prix has in F1 for example. They could be held anywhere in Europe or the US - tournaments,Championships, Grand Prix"s etc need a name - it doesn"t really matter what they"re called as long as they"ve got some sort of label.

And to be able to put that you are amateur champion of a whole continent (e.g. South America!!) on your headed notepaper is kind of cool.  8)
