Having been reminded that my Logitech Squeezebox media player is actually quite swish, I thought I"d better actually use it more often :)

I"m sitting here listening to the new releases on Napster. Tell you what, that Jessie J bloke can sing a bit!

Subtle or am I needlessly getting down in the dirt ???

I reckon you must be in the gutter Brendan as I don"t have a clue what yer on about. It"s rubbish having to explain jokes, I know. Perhaps you could pm me :)

Your referring to Jessie as a bloke was totally unrelated to sexual persuasion then, silly me :-[

Are you saying she sups from the furry cup then Brendan? Shame. Though not for me obv. Ahem, I mean as in I"d never have a chance, not I"m not interested :)

As the poker education isn"t going too well at the moment  ::) I"m going to appoint myself APAT's A&R man...

I"ve been listening to new album releases on Napster tonight whilst being severely tilted by Laxie"s worst-ever RSQ quiz mastering on blonde :)

I"m not necessarily endorsing any of these, I"ve only been half listening to be fair, but none of them are too bad :)

Bloomin" "eck! Don"t these weekends come round fast?

Quiet one this weekend really. I"m going to be watching some rugby today - Gloucester v Bath at 1pm on ESPN followed by the main event, Tigers v Saracens at 3.15pm on Sky Sports 2. The first match is 3rd v 4th in the Premiership and the second match is 1st v 2nd so it should be really good. And how the hell have Northampton slipped to 5th. They were playing sublimely just a few games ago. JP, I want a full report before tomorrow"s game away to Exeter Chiefs (ESPN 3pm).

I"m aiming to start racking up some play in blonde"s March "Sky N Go" sit n go league. I made a meteoric start last month, winning four of my first six and coming 2nd in the other two, 6-seaters admittedly. I obviously couldn"t sustain that and tailed off to finish 4th or 5th but with a healthy average ROI of 25%. As I very rarely play sit n goes, I was quite pleased with that and will be hoping for similar this month.

Tomorrow I"m going round to see my sister. We"re having a planning meeting for a trip down to Wiltshire (the county, not Leigh. Although I"m sure he"d be pleased to see us :)) at Easter. After our lovely mum died it emerged that she was illegitimate. None of us kids knew but Dad did and yet had never, ever spoke about it to Mum! Different times eh?

It"s thought that her real dad was a fella called Henry Higgs from Little Somerford in Wiltshire. All we have by way of proof though is anecdotal evidence (from Dad) and an insurance policy in my uncle Alan"s name (Mum"s brother), taken out by Henry Higgs. So it"s a fairly safe bet that it"s right but we both feel the need to get proof positive :)

We did a bit of family tree research four or five years ago. Not solely on Henry Higgs, but we did a bit of digging then but weren"t able to turn up any proof. We found further evidence; there was a Henry Higgs living in the village around the time of the conception(s). The theory is that as he was living alone and my granny used to do "skivvying", she "did" for him and he gave her a little "bonus" on top of her wages :)

We"ve booked a b&b in Little Somerford and the lady that runs it says there are still Higgses living in the village and that she will happily put us in touch. With that in mind I did a bit of research into the possible use of DNA testing to provide the proof of a link. However, it seems that you need an unbroken maternal or paternal line in order to provide the requisite proof and unfortunately, we don"t have either as far as I can see. At the moment, I"m thinking our best hope is that if/when we meet Henry"s descendants, that they bear a strong family resemblance - poor feckers imo :)

Good luck with the investigations.

I"m back on the weight loss trail with a vengeance.

On Monday I was at my heaviest since losing weight a couple of years ago - over 2st heavier than at my lightest. I"ve walked my 4 mile route every day from Tuesday. I"m doing it in a brow-moistening 55 minutes at the moment. It"s already started to get easier though and those times should tumble if I persevere :)
