<< < (7/10) > >>

TightEnd:
Which Leeds venue?

Grosvenor is old (refurb coming though)

Gala not interested

Alea lovely but not interested in holding third party events

Haven"t Gala recently launched a new poker room?

Also heard good things about Sheffield (as a poker venue, not the place itself)

Alea is by far the best place (not seen the new Gala room)

Have Alea got a new Casino/Card room Manager? They may have had a change of thinking

Mahound:
Well from the responses it seems that you wont be able to hold a APAT event that will please everyone.

How about holding regional live tournaments!

This could get even more people involved, people who have never played at any APAT events before.

I am sure that most regions would be able to get at least 50 - 75 players - 2-3 times a year.

At say £55 entry; it could provide a decent game, with a good prize pool to be won. You could have additional prizes, where the winner and the runner up from each regional game, would gain entry into the APAT championships in DTD.

I know that it would be hard work organising, but you might find enough volunteers from within the regions to help set these games up.

We had £20 regionals for 3 (2?) years. All fine, but a huge organisational task and as you would expect well supported in some areas, not in others
