Managed to win a seat to the European Deep Stack Champs, next month, on Blue Square tonight.
My mouth is salivating at the thought of 50,000 starting chips and a 1 hour clock.
Do you think they will have a 75/150 and 150/300 level? ;)
p.s. At same time managed 43rd of 2825 in $500k warm up on Stars. Now I gotta try and sleep. ::)
-
Congrats on both! If you don"t mind me asking - How many hours did it take to get down to where you finished in the $500k Sunday Warm Up?
-
Nice one Gordon.
I presume this deep stack tournie is a live event ? Where"s it being held ?
(please excuse my ignorance :D )
-
Congrats.
;D
-
Congratulations on both! ;D
-
Thanks guys.
Took about 6 and a half hours to get this deep, so not that bad with a 5.45pm Sunday evening start.
The event is at The Green Joker Poker Club in Drogheda, Ireland, 3-10th Feb. (€1500 Main Event)
I"ve checked and they have a 75/150 and a (150/300, 50 ante) levels!!!!
Come on!!! ;D

Well played fella. Great result.
First hand in Ireland, you have KK, you re-raise an EP raiser, he re-raises you all-in. What do you do? What do you do? Do you feel lucky?
;D
-
Well done
KK first hand EP re-raise you all in, call call call ::)
-
Nice result G, I"ll have to try and join you
-
Lol, nice one, thank guys.
I"m betting we still lose some players during the first 2 levels, even with a starting stack of 50k and blinds of 25/50, 50/100. ::)
Jeez just imagine 1,000 BB to start with. Wonder what the standard raise will be, 30xBB? lmao
-
Nice result G, I"ll have to try and join you
Thanks fella. Yeah can you imagine the two of us in the land of Guinness for a week!!! :o :o :o
-
Well done G, you won"t know what to do with all those starting chips..... sleep for a few hours and join the tournament late.. ;D

Why break the habit of a lifetime, eh?
I"ve calculated that I can sleep until level 3 of day 3 and still only need a double up to get back to average stack. ;)

Great result Gordon and you will have a fantastic time in Drogheda. Although how one plots a strategy for a 50k competition is beyond me ::)

Well done!
Still gutted about going out in the way I did. Had played a very solid game through to the final table and was in an ok position.Didnt have to rebuy or add on once. Then one moment of madness with my low pocket pair cost me big time. Though at the same time was unlucky to run into AA on the big blind. Oh well, these things happen!
Would not of been a bad result from a $10 dollar entry cost!
-
WTG Cuz, Result!!! I want plenty of updates via text LOL.

Well done guys, this could degenerate now!!!!! 8)
God knows, unlike you guys my package was a $3k one, including 5 nights accomodation and expenses. Blue square haven"t informed me yet where or when I am staying although, now that GUKPT Brighton is out of the way, I am gonna e-mail Mike Butlin tonight and find out.
I"ll let you know.
Well played again!!! 8)

Well done to Geo and Dewi, and the best of luck to you two and Gordon in Drogheda. We"re looking forward to some updates!

I am booked into the Green Door Hostel, cheap and cheerful like myself.
Flight - £28 return from Edinburgh. Accommodation -£53 for 4 nights...............50k starting stack and 1 hour blinds...................priceless.

Lol, I"ll try not to mart.
Had an e-mail from Mike Lacey when I got home last night.
Day 1B for me too. 8)
I"m booked into the Scholars Townhouse Hotel in King Street.
Gonna play some of the side events too, so flying out Newcastle-Dublin Saturday 2nd. Decided to pay £10 more and take Aer Lingus instead of Ryanair, to get reasonable flight times.
There is no danger of me trying to keep up with Dewi "The Hollow Man" J, when it comes to drinking the black stuff!!!! lol
