Having had a very successful 6 months of poker i feel its time to up the stakes a little but i cant find a tourney that fits!
Both the Evilpie and myself want a little "more" excitement and im sure there would be a few other forum members who might be interested.
Having played in the massive IPO in dublin back in October and various APAT events weve got the taste for these 2 day tourneys.
Were after something around the £200 - £300 freezeout, preferably somewhere in Europe so we can make an adventure of it! Looking on the internet all the big events are over a grand to enter, or a £200 rebuy! Definately dont fancy a £200 unlimited rebuy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know of anything that might be suitable? Between March and July?
Maybe we could arrange a forum trip if everyone can get their parents to sign the permission slips...........................................

I believe Dusk til Dawn do some higher buy in freezouts. And nottingham is somewhere in Europe (sort of)

Thanks AMRN, i actually live round the corner from DTD!
They do a £200 freezeout on a Sunday night your right but were really after a deepstack 2 day event with a couple of hundred runners.

They"re running £500 two-day events, and probably will be running £200 2-day events when they have enough dealers.

Me and Stuart need more help on this. It"s nice that DTD will be doing these events but it"s just not the same adventure when you get to go home at night. It"s probably more fun for you guys that live miles away because you get to plan it as a proper poker trip rather than just a day at the local poker club (sorry if we"re spoiled for living 5 minutes from the place, it"s not our fault)
The APAT nationals are really good and I can"t wait for Cardiff next weekend when we get to stay over and make a bit of a trip of it but we need more ;D ;D
UPDATE!!!! - Just had a text off Stuart. 500 euro 2 day event in Sharm el Sheikh!! We fly out on the 28th 8) 8)

PS - this doesn"t mean everyone can now stop looking. We still need more ;)

A glance at March reveals an Olympic Poker Series in Warsaw (750 euros) and the Vienna Spring Poker Festival.
However, if they run it again the Binions Deepstack Poker Series and The Venetian Deepstack series in Vegas offer terrific value. Last year these two series of tournaments ran alongside the World Series (June-July) and varied in buy-in from $100-£1,000. I know RioRodent, M3boy and others played in these whilst out in Vegas and they were terrific value.
You really can"t beat Vegas for choice.

Is the European Open to held with a load of drug addicts?

in my local grosvenor in walsall they are always doing medleys, its like a week long of high buyin comps that last maybe 2-3 days and attract around 200 runners.
Normally buyins vary from like £200 to £750

You could do much worse than get yourself of to the Perla Hotel & Casino, in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
Cracking 5* Hotel for about €100 / night (dicounted rate for poker players).
Good cardroom.
Good casino.
Friendly people.
Very cheap.
Fly to Trieste with RyanAir... Hotel provide free transfers from/top airport.

The Paris Open next month should be good. At the famed Aviation Club de Paris on the Champs Elysee, they have €100 rebuy, €1000 freezeout, €500 Freezeout, €150 rebuy super sat for main event and €2000 Main Event. Cheap to get to by train or flying and a nice city to boot. ;D

Can definitely recommend The Venetian Deepstack tournament. Hubby and I went to Vegas to try our luck and play in some of the lower buy in WSOP tournaments. But with a buy in of $1,500 and a starting stack of 3k they didn"t seem as such good value as The Venetian"s Deepstack of $500 10k starting stack (weekends), $300 6k starting stack (week days). During their two week festival The Venetian had between 500 to 600 entries for each of the tournaments and you had to register the night before to guarantee entry as that was their capacity.
Outside of "The Festival" the tournaments are still run but attracted around 100-120 entrants.
Of course the main attraction is still the WSOP and "mega" satellites are held with a buyin of $500 or $1000. These are a mini tournament in themselves. The $500 buy in I did had 610 participants.
Las Vegas is a great place to visit.

Typo? NORWAY begins with NO not NA. That would be a great idea at this time of year...
