I cross check this with a few APATers, and they confirm that loose aggressive is the order of the day
So far, the locals are winning, with many APAT regs in the bar.....

McGrath raises to 1200 and Phillips calls
The river is Qh
McGrath bets 2000
Phillips dwells, eventually letting his hand go.
McGrath shows 5s 7c for the flopped house, while Phillips shows Ac 5d for two pair.
----
Ollie Dean-Walker joins the table in seat 2.
---
9 - Spiers on the button
Phillips calls 200
McGrath calls 200
Mason raises to 1000 and both fold
10 - McGrath on the button
Lassman raises to 750
Kearns reraises to 2750
Lassman dwells
...and dwells
.......and counts his chips, and dwells.
then shoves in.
Kearns calls instantly and tables pocket Kings
Lassman looks stunned, turning over Queens
The board doesn"t deliver a third lady and Kearns doubles up to just over 15k.

A couple of snippets from the feature table:-
We lost Mark Lassman ten minutes ago.
Holding the 8s 5s, his chips went in on a flop of 10 10 A, with 2 spades.
Gary Phillips was holding 10 9, for the flopped set.
The 9s brought shortlived dual celebrations as Lassman realised that his nut flush had just been counterfeited by Phillips" full house.
Gary is up to 19k.
---
Chris Michail has joined the table in seat 3.
---
Donna Barstow doubled up, her Ace King holding against Charles Kearns Ace Queen, an Ace on the flop.
Donna is still relatively short at 5" 5", but 9k chips is a consolation of sorts.
---
Charles Mason took an interesting and valuable pot versus Grant Spiers.
Spiers raised to 535 pre flop, and called Mason"s reraise to 900.
The flop brought the Ah 6d 4h and both players checked.
The turn brought the 9h
Mason bet 1300, which was called by the current Scottish Amateur Champion, Spiers.
The river brought the 3h and both players checked on the end, where"s Mason"s pocket Kings (1 a heart) gave him the nut flush. The anticipated raise failed to materialise from Spiers, who held two pair, but Mason still scooped a sizeable pot.
---
Charles Mason took another significant pot with a nut flush against Asa McGrath, Asa bluffing on the river in a pot of around 8k, with the board double paired.

Chip count total 1,209,650 suggests 121, with 350 lost during colour-ups.
you gaine chips in the colour ups not lose them
there will prob be a simple explanation
A you have added them up wrong
B THE PLAYERS DID THERE OWN COUNT AND GOT THEM WRONG
C a local added more chips to the table
D tighty typing error
E the dealers added them up wrong
F i cant belive you added them all up
G Its 119 players not 120, one player the chips were in play twice (name on the system twice) ::)
-
Are we sure there were only 120 entries?
Chip count total 1,209,650 suggests 121, with 350 lost during colour-ups.
Andy you really do need to get a life lol
-
Good Luck to Craig Dawson. Hope you can go one better than in Coventry :)

Are we sure there were only 120 entries?

I always thought colour-ups GAINED chips?
Not true. It"s (as always) site dependent. Some places round down when colouring up e.g. many in vegas - but here I agree we mostly round up.
If they round up in Manchester then we gained 9,650 chips during colour ups. Almost a full buy in. Almost impossible.
Oh and it took less than 10 secs to add up - MS Excel FTW.

you gaine chips in the colour ups not lose them
there will prob be a simple explanation
A you have added them up wrong
B THE PLAYERS DID THERE OWN COUNT AND GOT THEM WRONG
C a local added more chips to the table
D tighty typing error
E the dealers added them up wrong
F i cant belive you added them all up
I like that this is in the top 3 :D

HAVE YOU ADDED THE PRIZE POOL TO MAKE SURE ITS 120 PLAYERS MIGHT BE 119 ;D

Mystery resolved

So that"s the extra 10k chips, and the prize pool down £100
This still leaves +10K chips, because you dropped a player. 119 x 10K + 10K = 1,200,000 chips but we have 1,209,650 chips in play.
Would make more sense if 120 is correct, but you had 121 players chips in play due to the duplicate name?
-
Hoping the boys from glasgow run good today ! good luck to all remaining players looks a great weekend down there !

As we"ve hit this stage earlier than normal, its reasonable to expect lots of play in stacks at some point. Likely to be now as obviously reaching the final is a big thing here

-
hats off to apat team, nice updates guys
well done all winners
-
Congratulations to "The Quad Rocket" well-deserved win, thoroughly enjoyed the tournament and especially some of George"s passionate celebrations when those rockets landed, clearly meant a lot to get that Apat medal. Also Mr Zhang who was like Ming the Merciless with his huge stack of chips, really good guy though and a lot of fun to play with along with John Anderson (not formerly of Yes), who had some really entertaining duels with him... also well done to Laura, only played with her briefly on the final table but a great effort to get so close. Thnx to all the Welsh support, maybe Jason and I will learn how to play KK in time for Brighton. Another great Apat weekend, big thnx to Tighty and Des and the G Casino team and everyone else who made it well worth the trip to Manchester. Roll on Brighton, where I"ll expect to see Slim Charlie Sheen in a Bjork T-shirt... or will that be at the Apat European Open in Iceland in Season 6.... to be announced soon!
-
Congrats to all those who cashed.
Many thanks to Tighty and Des for all your hard work !
Great to meet up with acquaintances old and new during another cracking weekend.
-
Well done to George, Yangran and Laura and everyone who cashed, especially Chas. Cheers again Rich and Des, fantastic weekend as usual. Loved the feature table, had a great group and a good laugh. Much of Sunday a bit of a blur TBH, look forward to seeing you all again in 2012. Have a superb Christmas and New Year till we all catch up again 8)
-
Just wanted to pass on my thanks to apat, des n tighty...my 1st away trip....loved every second....great bunch....who take their poker seriously....thx to grant n Alex....good travellng companions n great company....great to meet asa n other apaters, too many to mention...pokerwise,a bad start down to 6k...managed to get up to around 30k..then somehow scraped into a small cash...memorable moment was for me lamenting that I hadn"t seen ak once in two days, when I find them 2 from the ft and needing a dbl up....my raise was shoved on by Jason Jone"s smaller stack,n was delighted to call off...he had aces.to effectively cripple me...gotta say though, what a gentleman...his reaction or lack of was that of a good winner,n I appreciated that....always painful to know ur tourney is coming to an end....hats off to Jason for 6th place...and all the medal winners....George was a worthy winner,n I could tell it meant the world to him....
Till the next time....
-
