Looking to sign up to one of the above but dont know which to use. Are they basically the same. Does anybody use any of these and what are your thoughts on them.
Thanks ???

Good question.
I use Poker Tracker, and have done for the past couple of months, tbh i dont even know at the moment what I should be looking at, so whatever you choose get some kind of tutorial from someone..
Ill be interested to know what people say on this one..
-
id also be interested in peoples opinions, i know there was a thread on this a while back. I really want to get one of these too but dont know whats best to get. On EMS somebody said that theirs a new pokertracker coming out and its best to wait for that?
-
I use PokerTracker, with PA HUD for the table overlay. I was advised to go for PT over PO - and really couldn"t tell you the difference.
PT covers all the major networks, is constantly being updated, and works just fine for me. That"s not to say that PO wouldn"t do exactly the same (if not better).
I"d definitely say that PT (or PO) are essential tools in cash game selection and play online. Also fairly useful for tournaments, but far less so.
-
My game took a lot of benefit from using PT. Never used PO so can"t make comparison.
Daniel, what do you mean by "PA HUD for the table overlay"
-
If you use PT, get PA HUD. Basically it overlays key info (that you can customise) over the table.
So you can see the other player"s VPIP, PFR, etc., next to their seats. The figures are all in your PT database, but PA HUD makes it useful in real time.
-
excellent. I sit with a PT table view window open.... but it gets a little tricky multi tabling cash games!!
Where can I get PD Hud, and I"m guessing it"s not freeware?
-
just found it - will download and have a gander.
thanks for that
-
Buy it. It"ll pay for itself over the course of a couple of cash sessions.
-
Same as Kin, PT with PaHudd is just the business for destroying cash games. You almost feel blind without!
Question for Daniel:
Do you know how to get the notes you have in PT on an overlay?
-
Don"t know. I don"t use the notes in PT - use the ones in the poker software and/or a paper notepad!
-
I have pages of notes in PT from analysing past hands.
Guess we all have our ways!!
-
the new PT has PA HUD built in, but you have to pay extra for it.
-
Is it any better / much different Graham?
-
I"m PT also, every session I think to myself..I must get the PA HUD, and keep forgetting to actually do it.
Also how do I set it up for Bluesquare? - Simple to follow instruction needed!
Thanks in advance
;D ;D ;D

I tried it last night and it"s actually very straight forward to configure. I"m not that impressed though - the stats seem to appear and then disappear again at will, and the table appears and disappears from the main control window.
Also, the default setting is for the stats to be opaque, and if you are sat in the top right hand seat at a 10 seated iPoker table, it covers your right hand card completely....... as I found out last night when I had an ace in the left hand card, but want sure about the right hand card so just flat called just in case...... then switched off the HUD, and saw I had aces!

These are all glitches you can remove:
Make a list of the individual issues and email the forum/support on pokertracker website. Intially I had several things like this myself but these can all be reworked.
For instance you can move where the stats show and in what colour. Click Options>Layout Mgr on the PaHudd window chossing your particular platforms skin.
Options>Preferences>choose particular skin:
Make sure log files in right directory. Never store logs in same place as other platforms and never on the desktop. Tick flicker free drawing.
Options>Prefs>Refresh rates:
0-100 - 2
100-200 - 5
200- 10000 -10
Set as above
If you need anything more then the PT forum and the support will help with accordingly.
