Title: Football Premiership Managers who have selected their Sons....
Post by: AceOnTheRiver on February 10, 2012, 12:50:19 PM
....specifcally in a Premiership Game

It"s a trivia question I heard about 18 months ago for the first and I was told there were 7 - However we are playing this in the office and we have 9 possibilities.

I"ll post the answers / suggestions we have later on so you guys can have a bit of fun coming up with them in the meantime but when you post answers can you please provide some kind of "evidence".

Thanks

And when you say "some kind of evidence", are you after the results of a DNA test ?

Good work.

We had all of the above (eventually) +Tony Pulis but we weren"t sure... using Noble1"s Soccerbase an "Anthony Pulis" made 2 x Sub apps for Stoke between "04 & "08

Also not sure about Dalglish - his Newcastle stint was Jan "97 to Sep "98 and Soccerbase has Paul making 6 apps between Nov "97 & May "99.

The bloke in the Pub said (and therefore it"s fact  ;)) that Kenny only picked Paul in a cup game!!

So the definitive (ish) list

Clough
Ferguson
Redknapp
Todd
Gould
Strachan
Bruce

Pulis?
Dalglish?

Plus there"s also Stuart & Ryan Naysmith  :)

Pulis?  - played for his dad in the championship
Dalglish? - spot on, his dad signed him, gullit played him after he had replaced KD, KD had got sacked 2 games into the season.

Plus there"s also Stuart & Ryan Naysmith  :) - my what a dream team :)

i only remember cos Man City were the only team to beat them that year [plus everton finished 4th :)]

Lawro"s pre 04/05 thoughts on Drogba -
Quote
Is Didier Drogba worth the money?

HE is not worth pounds 23million. It is different rules for Chelsea and pounds 23m to them is like pounds 4m to the rest of the Premiership.

If you pay pounds 23m you want world-class quality like Thierry Henry. Sometimes you pay over the odds to complete a missing piece of the jigsaw, but Drogba is not in that category.

Mateja Kezman was real value for money at pounds 5m as he looks hungry, determined and full of goals.
