Hi Guys and Gals
Below is I have had some information about a live team event on 19th May at the International Club in London. From what I have heard from last year"s entrants, it is a really good, fun event with some great poker too!
It all kicks off at 2pm on Saturday 19th May at the Int Club. Entry is £30 per person and it is teams of 10 people. There are (I believe) individual and team prizes on offer as well as a buffet and the chance for some other games and cash play after the event finishes in the evening.
Would be great if we could get an APAT EoE team entered into this...please post on here or PM me if you might be interested in going!
Ta

If I am in country then pencil me down as well, should be a good laugh
-
AJ said he is also interested if there is space!!
-
Sounds great fun would love to join in ... Afraid it"s a no go for me :( just rang there is no disabled facilities, sigh stairway entrance no disabled parking :-[.. But would be great if you guys could get together and TID for EOE, or perhaps if you don"t get the 10 needed why not bring back a " Team Luton" sure a few of the oldies would be interested. Rich, JP etc...
-
Fantastic idea Jo. We did a similar thing for the Glasgow team last year after the APAT Scottish event and it was excellent getting togaether, putting faces to names and getting to know the team. Also good for recruitment of the team so you can"t really go wrong. Hope you all have a great day :)
-
It all kicks off at 2pm
What sort of finish time? I ask for railing purposes, as obviously, I"d be out by 2.30pm anyway ::)

There goes the neighbourhood.....and any chance of a hangover free Sunday! :)

I"ll double check with Ralph but pretty sure both OK.
Any details on the event itself?
How everyone getting down? Car or Train, not sure what parking is like or how easy it is to get too, but I have a 7 seater happy to drive to save some money for everyone...(never driven in London before though!)
If train, going from Peterborough if we"re able to met up?

Will post the event details as and when I get more. At the moment it is as per the initial thread....2pm start, one day event...
Me and Big sharpie (!) will be getting the train with our tenth man, Ed Brandon. Ed will probably pick it up at Huntingdon and us at St Neots then Andy and Ian furhter down the line at Arlesey. Once I get an idea of time we can try and get corresponding trains that pick up all on the same line!!! Need to check last train back though!
-
Yes, I"m OK for this.
What time do we want to meet up? I can get as far as Kings Cross pretty much any time - trains from Cambridge at Kings Cross arrive just after the hour and half hour.

I"m thinking either the 10.46 from Peterborough which would be the 11.00 at Huntingdon, 11.08 at St Neots and 11.24 at Arlesey getting into LKX at 12.01. The next one after that is the 11.18 from Pboro, which is Huntingdon 11.34, St Neots 11.41 and Arlesey 11.58. Gets into LKX at 12.49 but we need to be at the Int Club for around 1.30 ish....is that going to be long enough?
Thoughts?!
-
Sounds like a plan, although my previous experience on catching trains is a bit dodgy!! Although I will have AJ there with me!! lol
-
I"ll look after the old fella.

The club wil be laying on it legendary buffet once again and if you have not been to one of these event before it is always the most fun you will have at a poker table with your clothes on! 30 quid, decent turbo clock, points for top 18 with 1 for 18th & 18 for 1st, half prize pool to winning team the other half to individuals.
Just turn u and TID ok?????
-
are we doing team t-shirts? I see there is someone with an offer on the gutshot forum thread about the game

Definitely the first option - if not the train before that so we can get a spot of lunch and some light refreshments before we go to the club.
-
Option 1 please, get into Lundun Tawn for about 12, there is a maccy D outside KX and the Int is only 2 stops away on the Northern Line

I emailed the international club about joining prior to the game at the weekend, here is their reply.
Hello,
Thank you for your message.
The International is a private members club that is not open to the public. Membership for The International will be by invitation only. You would need to know an existing member who will be required for you to sign up as a member.
You have loads of time to arrange a "friend" who can do this for you, all the members in our club are very friendly and won't mind. Why not join our lively discussion forum over at http://gzone.gutshot.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/52-The-International-Club OR you can "LIKE" our Facebook page if you're on there and befriend someone in either of these ways.
Please bring photo ID such as your drivers license or passport on you first visit to the club where you can apply for membership. There is no charge for membership. Applications for membership take 48 hours to process, so you"ll need to be signed in by the member vouching for you on your first visit.
I hope this addresses your query, if not please just let us know how we can help further.

Good luck guys. I would have been very tempted to play but I knew I was getting a very special present around this time and wouldn"t be able to make it. I"m sure you can still take it down without me.... :P

It was great to meet so many other team members today and it was fun (at least until the outdraws started ::))
It started so well, as I pretty much doubled up in the second hand of the day after flopping a set and rivering a full house, but then got 2-outered to lose 70% of my stack with tens on a 789J board when a 10 came on the river and villain had a queen. Finally went out with 6BBs by shoving Q8 from the button and finding the BB with 55 which hit another 5.
There are many more tales of successes and woe to come from the others.
Thanks for organising a fun day out, Jo!
-
Great to meet some of you yesterday sadly ApatEoE didnt win the team event but well done to my team who DID manage to retain their title by taking 13th, 5th and 6th in the individual event.
Hope EoE can make the next event.

Thanks to all 9 of the FABULOUS guys that came and played at The Int yesterday. As Stuart said it was a really fabulous day, lots of fun, lots of banter....lots of walking courtesey of "Clipboard Matthews"
Unfortunately we didn"t manage to TID and we were incredibly unlucky with AA losing 4 times, JJ losing twice and other such standard things but it didn"t dampen the spirits and I really hope all the guy enjoyed it as much as I did!!
Onto the league game tonight...lots of points with any luck!!!
