Des, why are the international tops so expensive? I am loking forward to this but feel that 30% of the buyin would also be required to tops is excessive. Other teams your thoughts, please?

£15 for an embroidered polo doesn"t seem too bad imo

We are being asked to pay £30 per player and to me that is excessive but if other players are happy to pay these prices then I must be he exception. Fair play to AMRN for replying. I"ll need to get extra funds from the boss by the looks of it.

The £30 is for two embroidered polo shirts (one for each day)

I"m sure you can just order one if you would prefer, won"t be a problem.

They are also a really great memento to have of representing your country at poker.

I"m sure anyone who has played in these events previously would back me up on that.

I agree with your post but think that some of the members participating may find the cost a bit too expensive. I only wished to have others thoughts on the matter and hope that no offensive hasbeen taken.

Agreed. I still wear mine to poker with my mates now :) Cracking momento and not something that everyone has. Well worth it IMO

EDIT

Infact the shirt is the bit that should mean the most. Your NATIONS shirt that you wore while representing it? Priceless.

Agree with above. And if we can source them in nice quality for less than £15 per shirt then we"ll pass on the savings to the players.  I suspect APAT will end up paying a balance on them however.

Having ordered many golf polo shirts for golf tours in the past £15 is very fair value for good quality. Cheap ones just get binned once they lose their colour and shape. False economy IMHO.

While I understand you saying the cost builds up, however on this occasion its your country.

It"s a priceless memento and not everyone gets the chance to wear it.

I think £30 for 2 is fairly standard if i"m honest. If you add P&P to that then it"s a decent price.

will there be a thread opened for the single event? Just asking as I will only come for the single event and do not have a clue at all if I have to register in advance and if so where,

sorry for being in the wrong thread

or are only people who are in teams allowed to play in the single event?

Gina, the team event is seperate from the individual  - the "single" event is open to all

On the subject of shirts, the black shirts used during ECOAP S2 looked really good, any likelihood of reintroducing them this year ?

Just the team for those particular shirts Paul, but we are hoping to have an APAT branded merchandise range available also.

For no other reason than I"ve got too much time on my hands at the moment, I"ve just scored last years WCOAP tournament using this years points structure - and the result is... exactly the same. The only two teams affected were Germany who moved up three positions and the USA who dropped two. So it"s still possible to go from the bottom of the table to the top via the MTT.

Just proves what a tremendous effort it was by Wales last year.

Recommendation : the Welsh team must play the MTT wearing blindfolds to give us all a chance  :D ;D

Don"t you think having every country play in black might take a little of the...umm, colour...out of the event Ian?

cool mate, if you can let me know ASAP as a few of us are gonna get t-shirts n hoodies made regardless so if we can do it through supporting APAT all the better. I would say though personally I would prefer a t-shirt as opposed to polo. lol.

Couple of queries re the structure of the team event please.

1: The original post (quoted below) states 6 handed STTs with a 2:30 start on the Friday - the player briefing states 9 handed STTs with a 5:30 start. I presume the format has been revised since the original post, but just wanted confirmation of start time to ensure nobody misses out.

Phase 1 - Day 1 - 2.30pm

8 x 6 player No Limit Hold Em Sit & Go Matches - 3,000 chips - 30 minute clock
1st - 5pts, 2nd - 4pts, 3rd - 3pts, 4th - 2pts, 5th - 1pt, 6th - 0pts
Each country will participate in 4 Sit & Go Matches

2: The structure for points in the player briefing doesn"t look right.... per quote below, 1st gets 9 points, 2nd gets 8 points, down to 8th gets 1 point and 9th gets 0 points..... that doesn"t add up. If it"s a sliding scale where 1st gets 9 points, then 8th should get 2 points and 9th should get 1 point.

Quote

Day One

5:30pm 4 x 9 handed NLHE STT   (1st=9pts, 2nd=8pts........8th=1pt, 9th=0pts)
8:30pm 4 x 9 handed PLO STT   (1st=9pts, 2nd=8pts........8th=1pt, 9th=0pts)

1.  I believe Des posted that based on the WCOAP structure and the anticipated 12+ teams.  Instead we have gone for a later start on the Friday, which helps out DTD, means players aren"t playing in a 3/4 empty cardroom and will also give players more flexibility for travel arrangements and hotel checkin etc.

Apologies if this is a late change, I wasn"t even aware we had publicised any start time,  and has impacted on peoples plans.

2.  Good spot, have amended player briefing

I"m not sure if this is the right place, but I would just like to thank the APAT guys for a brilliantly run Team Event.  I have played a few weekend festivals before, but having teammates to cheer on, and the banter between teams, adds a lot of fun.  I know there must have been a mountain of work to get it running so smoothly.

Hope to see you all at some future APAT events.
