I don"t usually like to blame the dealer, stuff happens, people make mistakes but how the hell can he not check stacks, action, bets in a 50,000$ comp?!?!

In my opinion, both rulings are wrong.
When the last action pre was a call of a pot raise (not an all in), and everyone flipped their cards over, they all lost the right to make any further aggressive action (ie they can only call or fold - but as there is nobody left to make a bet, that is irrelevant). With all cards on their backs, and no more aggressive actions to come, the pot should stand at the point of the last call, and the board should be dealt out, with main and side pots dished out accordingly.
To try and say that there was still action to come after the flop, so the turn and river should be redealt, even though everyone had seen everyone else"s cards is just ridiculous. And in the revised decision - to decide that the pot raise was actually an all in because the guy calling was intending to call all in, even though they were too deep to get all in, is also ridiculous (it just sets the wrong precedent for Pot Limit tournaments)
The players screwed up by flipping their cards over on the assumption that everyone was all in, before the dealer had counted stacks and bets. The dealer screwed up by not commanding and directing the table properly. The TD screwed up with a flawed decision in the first instance. The WSOP senior director screwed up with a flawed ultimate decision (albeit that was probably a reasonable outcome for all concerned).

Picture the scene........ APAT event ....... 1st of the season at Coventry......... day 2 ...........last 3 tables........
cannot remember the betting action but immediately to my left is Andy Kingan who moves all in with Jacks.....
Ant Williams four to his left re shoves and I have them both overly covered and (Andy had Ant covered)call with AK,
Ant has Ak, someone has thrown an Ace and of course an Ace on the board. Poor Andy is out and the pot is split
between myself and Ant........
Please be aware of the chip stacks, I only realised this huge mistake on mine and the dealers part
after the event when Ant mentioned the hand and we went back over the schematics, obviously not quite as dramatic
as the 50k but still worth keeping in mind.

Big +1 for Jon, who a lot of us know from APAT events in earlier seasons.

They use all their experience to make decisions like these? And rewind the clock, either for that table or all of them - the shortstacks got stuffed.

Pretty mega line-up still in this - a long list of A-listers.
One name that jumps out is Dan Shak, fresh from hitting the headlines over trying to get some cash from Beth S cos he didn"t know how much her shoes were worth. That"s the same guy who just bought into the $1m tournament, though it"s not clear whether the fee came from his $10m hedge fund, his $3m tournament winnings over the last 3 years or the sale of the matrimonial apartment for $7.5m. Seems a bit unnecessary.
