Title: Hand for Hand
Post by: nosey-p on July 17, 2012, 12:09:51 PM
Played on the site last night, was in a comp, top 20 got paid, we was down to 21 so we were hand for hand (which is normal) but then we were hand for hand until FT which slowed the game down. I know it was the same for all players. Is this the same for all tournaments?

Unless there was something odd on the payout structure I can"t think of a reason.

Hi nosey-p, which tournament was this, and I"ll have a look.

I seem to remember that happening on a DTD tourney - thought at the time it was a BOSS thing. Absolute pain in the backside - killed the structure leading into the FT.

It was the $10 Headhunter at 8.00pm

It's not a complaint just wondering if this was the norm

Boss has a longer H4H period than e.g. Pokerstars. The idea is to stop people using all their time + timebank to make a decision, so they ladder up the moneylist.

Thanks for the feedback though. Something for us to keep track of (i.e. if games are too slow due to this, then it"s something we can bring up with our software suppliers).

As a short stack it did not help me as it slowed the game down (less hands per level) but now I know I can adjust my play by pushing with 67 instead of waiting for AA   ;)

Seems odd, should just be for bubble situations and maybe final table bubble but that should be it

So it's designed to speed up the game? In my opinion it slowed it down, like Steve said it probably added another 2 levels to the game.

On some BOSS tourneys, they go H4H on any pay jump from cashing up to the FT. It is very frustrating, I agree
