Post by: Scousebill on November 06, 2012, 23:10:44 PM
Can anybody tell me what this is...

Wed 21 Nov at 7.00 pm
£ 100 + 9 No Limit Hold'em - Rivers

Unsure of what the Rivers bit on the end actually means...  ???

On the river you get your own river card face down so you will have 3 hole cards and 4 community cards, use any 5 out of the 7 to make your hand

Sounds like a cross between Stud and Holdem - sounds fun!

Saw you on the ME list Wayne.... see you there :)

It would be good if APAT could do something like this for the Sunday game.

Yep, looking forward to it

How many do you think enter the £100 side events... Thursday may be for me as the "Rivers" one looks a bit too odd..

You could be right, I was thinking that it started on the Thursday and I knew that the Rivers was the first game.

Sorry

Well Holdem is actually a variant of poker that was derived from Stud. The rivers version brings them a little closer.

Break time after five levels I"m on 31K from a 25K starting stack.
They are still accepting re-entries until level 9.
192 entries so far, 178 started

Sry got my entry figures wrong. 178  was the current players now 181.  Not sure how many kicked off.
My stack is a healthy 70,500 at the moment but table getting a bit more aggressive now since the new arrivals to the table. Anything can happen in the last two hours.

An update on the GPS Sheffield both me and jockey are flying the flag for Apat both reaching Day 2 Saturday
I finished on 33K and jockey rallied towards the end of the night on my table with a nice 95K stack

We were informed at about 11pm that today"s Day 1B was full with about 20 on the alternates list, at £430 entry fee this is going to be a massive prizepool.

Good luck to all Apaters playing Day 1B

I was at Sheffield yesterday.. Played the £100 side event but went out in 22 out of 65 (counting rebuys). Card dead for most of the tourney and when I did have good hands I never got much action.. Started with 10k and was on about 22k by the first break but then gradually went lower... Biggest return was with JJJ but had AA and KKJJJ with not much more than the blinds. Again, a good experience and a safe haven from horrendous weather. Need more live practice so I am looking forward to getting x-mas out of the way and playing a bit more in the New Year...

Sorry for the others who had percentages in me but it wasn"t to be.....

Well played LBPNs Lee Barrett who cashed for £800 (FR Sat) in Sheffield, unlucky exit with KK v AJ. And unlucky APATs Baz Simpson who crashed out 5 short of the money.

Thoroughly enjoyed GPS Sheffield. Reached day 2 and was happy with my overall play. Managed to double up my shortish stack after about 20 mins of play. Didn"t end up getting into the money this time.
It is only the second GPS Main Event I have played. This qualification was thanks to Apat added value. Much appreciated.
See you all at Stoke next week.
