Title: Favourite online site
Post by: George2Loose on March 29, 2008, 11:14:06 AM
Where does everyone enjoy playing the most and why?

I used to really enjoy stars but find their schedule a bit flimsy for mid stakes players.

My fave site ATM is Full tilt. Love the schedule- and their tournament structures are awesome. Tourneys start with either 2000 or 3000 chips. Structure:

10/20
15/30
20/40
25/50
30/60
40/80
50/100
60/120
80/160
100/200
120/240/25

10 levels before antes kick in. Levels are 12 mins instead of 15 on stars but you get a lot more play IMO.

I quite like the Stars structure.

I played the Deepstack 20 euro game on Poker Trillion the other day (Boss network) and the structure there was great.  Apart from the obvious deep starting stack (5k), the levels started at 12 mins, but when the blinds get really high, the level time increases, first to 15 min levels, then 20 and finally 30.  I thought it made for much better play late on.

For MTTs I prefer Stars - love the 15 min blind levels.

For STTs I prefer iPoker (usually at Titan) simply because up to the $55 game, they are so soft.

For Cash, it"s iPoker all day long - up to $1/$2 it"s just easy money.

iPoker is awful for standard MTTs below $50 buy in - they have quite a fast structure with many levels missing, no antes, and 10 minute blinds.

Best "fun" tourney is the Sky Open, although I wouldn"t dream of playing that to try and make money - it"s just an impossible game to play good poker consistently - 7 min blinds and fast structure...... if you don"t play a hand in first 30 mins, you are already getting close to an M of less than 10.  It"s just nice to be able to watch the live commentary, and to hear critique of your own hands occasionally (especially when you get one right!)

I"m a recent convert to Full Tilt. I"ve got 12 different sites downloaded and tend to flit between them, but I tend to spend more time on those with deeper stacks/slower structures.

Ive just signed up to FT last night. Not played anything yet, just having a browse, im not keen on stars, the only reason being that they dont do rakeback, and with being used to playing on blonde and will hill which do 30% rakeback, you can get it on there.. ill have a gander at the cash I think to work off the bonus.. ;D

Whilst only a small stakes player ($5 sitn gos)i either player on blondepoker due to their "loyalty scheme"

Recently I returned to ladbrokes as they play a six man top 3 players cash (usually 3rd place returns your stake) I tried this this month and am about $80 up for the month , its even more straight forward playing the 20 hand levels as you have no pressure to make a play and people usually get bored and play hands they shouldnt and invariably get into trouble over it.

my aim this year is to get my bank roll up to $1000 *currently at $439 and then i may attempt to move up a level.

Not sure if Ladbrokes pays rakeback? if not, seriously consider going over to willhill.. great software, but more importantly, they have the double your money STT"s at all levels, pays 5/10 or 3/6 double you stake minus rake, the same as what your on about I think.. Like you say, so many people play the wrong cards its quite easy at the $5 or £5 level or even the $10 level. Game get a little tighter higher up, and the 30% weekly rakeback is great.. (no i dont work for them)..

Smiler, id say uv got enough to take a shot at ten dollar sngs now, no way u need 1000 to play them, id play them with a bankroll ov around 200 dollars, 20 dollar sngs are different, would love advice on what a decent bankroll for those would be?

Does anyone know what site is best for playing MTTs (about 5 tables would be nice) with around a $30-50 buy in, and has about 5000 starting stack with a 20 minute clock.....?

this would be pretty good play, better than the 1500 starting stack and a 15 min clock on stars, and avoiding the horrendous bad beats that i seem to get on blue square.

if i find the perfect tournment for me i would be playing more often, seems to me like the websits are usually doing a structure that suits them, and not actually making too many tournments where skill will help you get in the money as apposed to luck......Thanks.

chris, i"ve seen your sharkscope and you can definitely move up to $20. i think a min of $660 (30 buyins) supports this. you can always move back down and crush $10 again if it goes tits up.

W Young, stars do a lot of decent guarenteed prize pools, with 3000 starting chips and 15 minute blinds which ive always thought is a decent structure. As said earlier full tilts tournys also have very good strucures and there are a lot of them for about 24 dollars. Cheers swinebag, i tried briefly playin the 20 dollar sngs on stars four at a time but noticed quite a difference with the amount of three betting and aggression compared to 5 and 10 dollar sngs which you can play on auto pilot. only played 8 to 10 of them so will prob give them a go when ive completed 40 more sngs at 10 dollar. So sad but just wanna get on the average profit leaderboard on sharkscope for ten dollar sit n gos lol need 40 more to have played enough to qualify

yeah im probably being a bit too cautious what i usually do before i move up a level is if im up in profit at the end of the month i play a few at the higher level just to get a glimps of the standard of play

Ladbrokes do daily $10 5000 chip with 15min levels at 6.15 which is good for an early finish.

But i"m currenty wasting my time (cant get passed rnd 2) trying to win a free seat at WSOP Main Event on FTP through the sng freerolls.

Well my fav is AP, I know a lot of people slate it, but their sngs are 9 handed instead of ten, and it"s the site that makes me the most money.

Have quite a few downloaded and flit about a bit.

Haven"t played online for a couple of weeks until about an hour ago, came 2nd in my first sng back, so really should start playing more again, especially since just realised regionals are back at last!

;D

The 30% rakeback on Will Hill"s? Do WH pay it directly or do you have to sign up through a rakeback site/affiliate?

Well I don"t know about favourite, but least favourite is our sponsors I"m afraid. Only down to the fact that I can"t seem to win on this site, it is one bad beat after another. I won a MTT SNG at the weekend, and then cashed again on Monday night, and I thought maybe I had finally cracked this site, but then on two cash tables in a row my kings lost to aces. Then last night after being made the short stack by a runner runner flush, I quadrupled up only to go out in 10th when my trips were beaten by a rivered gut shot.
Oh hell this has turned out to be just a bad beat whine, sorry guys!!

I play a fair bit on our sponsor site and my only surprise in your post is that aces held up, you clearly weren"t playing me. The last time I didn"t lose with aces on blue square was a split pot when the board was a straight. I"m on a bad run on blue square just now consistently losing real make or break hands close to or just beyond the bubble normally when getting my chips in in front against someone who has me covered. However I am going to stick with it because I believe luck evens itself out so I am going keep doing the same thing and wait patiently for my hands to hold up and the cash to come pouring in.

Don"t tell anyone but I do quite like PKR although I don"t play on it too often, the play is quite slow and I don"t find it easy to play two tables on it. I have also suffered a lot less bad beats on PKR than any other site I"ve played on which is quite surprising given that most people think it"s frequented by fishy gamers.

the only site i lose on consistently is bluesquare.I play on five other sites regularly doing the same things in the same situations and make a resonable profit on all of them.It just seems, and i agree with previous posts, that the capacity to be outdrawn or to have accepted bad play rewarded is somewhat higher on bluesquare. This is not a random whinge,i keep records of all play on a daily basis and the maths do support this.Anyone else got any thoughts on this.

Yeah i have a thought on it - it"s all codswallop. BSQ is not worse or better than any other site. Bad beats are just part of the game, wherever you play, both online and live in the same ratio. BSQ is just part of the whole iPoker network - and i make a nice return from play at iPoker, both on BSQ and Titan.

Hi Rio

Is it 4 days since I was on here last...  ???  Anyway, I signed up through Julian Thews blog, thats where I saw the first thing about rakeback.. Anyway Hill just pay the rakeback every week without fail straight back into your account. I dont think you have to go through an affiliate, but check out blonde, they have loads of banners not sure they mention rakeback, i think it mentions a sign up bonus only..
