Title: WCOAP Satellites Discussion
Post by: Sugar_Free on March 01, 2013, 12:37:02 PM
Seriously?? After the way that WH misappropriated the funds last time they ran APAT satellites we have gone with them again? What guarantees do we have that this will not happen again?

And why not use the APAT Poker Room?

And why not use the APAT Poker Room?

Leigh has explained why not on face book..

Bad timing for me as I have just been through all my old accounts, Genting, WH, Blackbelt etc withdrawing what small funds I had on them to clear up desktop!!

Will obv have to re install and deposit again another time as i hear that WH are wanting to be involved with APAT in season 7

Good luck to all those taking on the satts.

With the sats on Whill, and the promotion of £10 on offer to existing clients, would a transfer from sports to poker on Whill count as a "re-load"?

As I wouldn"t re-load when ive a sum in sports to transfer?

As I"m a new user. £10 free towards satties sounds pretty decent. Although I"m not sure what happened the last time WH were involved...hopefully not too bad.

And can someone explain here :) I just wonder what is the use of having an APAT Poker Room if you don"t hold your own sats for the most prestigious APAT live event?

We have our own Online Cardroom, if it generated enough for us to run APAT with all the costs associated with it and the added value we put into events, we would run everything on there. If it doesn"t, we will look to partner where necessary to ensure our players and members get the best poker tour we can give them.

I"m another thats very disappointed that William Hill has been selected to host the satellites for the WCOAP.
I was one of the players that never got re-impursed by William Hill having won a satellite on their site, though to be fair I was given the seat by Des and APAT.
I sent their customer relations team numerous e-mails about the problem and was constantly rebuked and they even threatened to ban my e-mails and I can only describe their actions as downright rude.
I have also removed all funds from my William Hill account and removed their site from my computer and I will NOT be re-installing the software and therefore will not be playing any satellites for the WCOAP.

Thx Leigh, sounds very logical... I"m sure you guys had a good reason for choosing WH again; as long as that deal is the best for us the players :)

Facebook announcement reads

"The only way to guarantee a seat for the upcoming WCOAP is via tonight"s satellite on William Hill. It"s a £16+£1.50 freezeout starting at 7pm with 1 hour late reg, the password is apatmemb."

Have I misunderstood? I understood that requesting a seat on the relevant thread in this forum guaranteed a seat provided it was before capacity was reached. Can someone clarify please?

Thanks

Gary,
If you have already requested a seat and you are in the amount of seats allowed you will be ok, these sats are extra if you win one it will pay for the seat , if you are on the reserve list and win you are guaranteed a seat, check the seat list !! I"m sure Leigh will clarify this !!

Easy really....the forum was "allocated" a certain amount of seats to the WCOAP events...that amount did not equal the total capacity.

That allocation has now been filled and those who have reserved via this method are guaranteed.

As always a few seats are held back for sponsors / satellites...etc.

Thus the only way to GUARANTEE a seat NOW is as stated on FB.

I know that when I am treated badly by an organisation it takes some serious effort on their part to keep / regain my custom and it seems that WH have treated some APAT members rather badly.

There are 2 sides to every story but I think some kind of statement from WH apologising for or explaining last year"s problems would go a long way.

I appreciate APAT needs the support / funding to thrive but without this gesture we seem to be saying, "it doesn"t matter how you treat our members so long as you come back with a few £££s"

From memory I remember a few members not getting anywhere at all with WH customer services on more than one occasion.

Having stolen, no other way of putting it, mine and other members" prize money then basically called us liars for several weeks I vowed to have no further dealings with WH and this still stands. It is worth noting that I have still not been paid out the amount I should have been.

That"s pretty outrageous Matt.  I assumed this had been cleared up up at that time.  I can assure you I will pick this up with WH and ensure you are credited the money you were due.  That said, totally understand if you don"t want to take part in this particular promotion, nor would I blame you.

Apologies on our behalf.

Des.

Trying to download the WH software but it isn"t playing nice. Been on to their support and not getting anywhere fast. Will try to make tonight"s satellite if I can sort it in time.

No apologies required from yourselves Des, I"m just disappointed we"ve gone with them again after that. It got to the point after about a month of emails they credited me a "goodwill" amount to make me go away, so I did and I"m not going back.

I remember the issues now Matt. There was a payout glitch in the software and I recall sorting Vaino out with a seat or something as he let me know he was still having issues. I"ll talk to the appropriate person and see what can be done to put this right, albeit twelve months on. :(

Your quite right Des, I did get my seat from APAT, but the problem remained unsolved with William Hill. They maintained that they were right despite it being perfectly clear to anyone else what had happened. The missing monies must be somewhere in William Hills accounts!
I also feel that I was robbed by William Hill and therefore will never play on their site again.

Hi Des

Was lucky enough to win the sat last night. I am on the waiting list for the HU on the monday. Were there any seats held back for satellite winners for that event and if so could I claim one please.

Many thanks

Simon

Because it"s against the network rules innit.

Although I think if you contact them they can sometimes change it n a "as per" basis  (or that may have been iPoker?, I forget now) but had same situatin last year.

Having luckboxed my way to winning tonight WCOAP Sat, can someone explain why its better to have these games on other poker sites as opposed to the APAT room?  No money added or anything, and winnings just paid out in cash, so how does that make it better?  Not necessarily a criticism, just enquiring.

Even last night"s cheaper £5 event didn"t run...well upset cuz winning a seat would really help me with my expenses of the team event...£220 plus travel and hotel is gonna be a lot for me...so are we having anymore satellites next week?
