Make a bet if:

- A better hand will fold, or
- A worse hand will call.

You "might" get a crying call from 67. Can"t see an overpair or Ace high that"s been played in this manner. 8x crying calls, 9x sticks it in your eye.

No value in a bet at this level.

(as a standard I"d be better bigger on the flop too).

If you do bet the river, you have to decide if it"s a value bet or a bluff.  Given that you can"t really call a raise, you would only ever be bluffing... yet you have reasonable showdown equity.    I would prefer to try and get to a cheap showdown now.     The only bet I might make here is a small stopper bet.

Not in position you wouldn"t

Clear check back, expect to see 8x or 67. I doubt villain ever folds a boat. May be tempted to 3bet the turn vs certain villains

OK that"ll teach me to pay attention to the OP :)

Never betting here - expect him to have an 8 a lot of the time. Not even sure he would call with a straight.

I"m checking 100% of the time here. Rivers terrible and you have a chance for a cheap showdown

Thanks all, we did check back and he had a straight. On reflection it does appear a very clear check back.

you missed out on probably the only hand that calls you that you beat.

But too many combos that call have you beat here so well done on checking back

FWIW, I think your sizing is pretty spot on here on all streets, though I would raise slightly less pre with just the one limper.

calling turn rather than reraising is probably my preferred line as well.

What are thoughts on reraising here?

i"d call turn vs competent players and 3bet a fish
i don"t think anyone with a brain would call any sort of river bet with a straight but that obv doesn"t quite rule it out
