Welcome back to DTD folks, lots of players in the club today for the main 1b and the Omaha, which starts in half an hours time. 200 have bought into day 1b thus far with others still at the cash desk.
-
We"ve lost our first Omaha player in the form of Robert McCarrol.
First hand 77xx with 2 clubs, on a KKQ flop (2 clubs). His opponent bet, Robert McCarrol called. Turn 7. Opponent bets out, Robert calls. River bricked, and checked to Robert. Robert bets 3000. His opponent flat calls with Queens.
Followed by a flopped straight flush draw running into rivered Quads.

PLO:
HoFer Paulie out with KJJT, raise infront of him, Paulie shoves all-in for 7k.
His opponent flips KKxx (double suited), which after a nondescript board, is good enough to win the pot.

Funtime Kev is still the dominant PLO force on Table 48, obviously refreshed from playing a home game with funky boards in the picturesque Nottingham village of Gotham with some of the more foolish of APATers, myself included. He"s been absolutely incredulous at how well he is running:
How long can it last?
Riddle me this: Will he remain the villain of the piece and be the Bane of everyone"s lives, when included in the dynamite table chat on 48 is Chinese Frankie?
This updater popped over in the hope of seeing some action with Sharkman betting 2000 into a 2.5k pot on a K93 2 heart flop. Frankie pipes up "I"ve got a big hand" - a sure-fire indication of the opposite - before passing. What a Joker.
Dawn Dineen has been Robin people blind to run her 2.8k into 28k. It"s not going to be a quiet game.
Will Ross-Jones 23k
Sharkman 15k

Grinding upwards on table 54. Charles Mason on 20k, I"m on 25k and Tod Wood rakes in yet another pot to go to 40k
-
Two John"s approach the update desk to tell of their respective exits in day1b.
1. Jonathon Tice out with Ah Kh vs As Ks all in preflop for 50k+ (blinds are 100/200/25)
Flop comes 9x Jx Js, and 2 more spades to seal the deal.
2. "General" John Patten, of APAT Team Championships Champions "GNF", in a QQ vs KK cooler.

Steve Redfern"s quest for a third bracelet has hit the rocks after an all-in pre-flop confrontation against Sihaio Elorfi in a 33k pot.
Ks Kc 8s 2c for Steve vs A s Ac Qh 3h
Board runs out:
7d 6h Qs 2d 7h
Elorfi rockets to amongst the chipleaders. The streamlined wonder Steve Redfern, swimming dad and now poker legend, is left with a mere 2k.
2 bracelets in 3 days is quite enough, you need to leave some for Carl Pilgrim y"know?
Wes Ellis 30k
Christian Briggs 28.1k
Michael Perry 26.2k
Uber Funtime Kevvy Pilkington 42k
Frankie 12k
The Everywhere Man Peter Thorpe, on his 3rd table already, is still on 20k.
-
Peter Thorpe was threatening to go out in a Blaze of glory after a previous encounter with Tony Tripps, but he"s just doubled through.
Peter"s Qs 10s 10h 4h held on against 10c 5c 7s 6s
Flop 9s 2c 5h (where the last of his 6k went in)
Turn Jh
River 3c
Peter"s back in the game with 12k.

And here is the hand referred to above:
Tony Tripper in the Omaha with Jx Jx Ah 4h
Flop KQT. Tony leads out for 2.5k, gets repopped to 9k by Peter Thorpe. Tony all in for 11k which is insta-called.
His opponent flips Ac Jc x x for the flopped straight.
Turn a miracle one-outer J
River to complete the boat K.
Tony up to 25k.

OMAHA
The last hand before the break turned out to be rather eventful...
Blinds at 400/800, Christopher Kelly (27-6) raises to 2,100 from the button. Small and Big blind come along for the ride (Chinese frankie small, Stephen Woodman big)
Flop: 8s 8c 2s
All three players check
Turn: 5d
Frankie checks, Woodman shoves for 6,300 (funnily enough, exactly the pot), Chris gets out the way, Frankie thinks for a bit, claims a good hand but folds...and Stephen shows 7s 4h 9s 7d for the flopped flush draw and turned straight draw.
----
No sooner had i left that hand, table 37 had all kinds of kicked off for the biggest pot of the tournament so far!
Joined on the turn of 8s 8h Jh 3d, Shane Pollington (37-6) shoved only to find a call from the "at the time" runaway freight-train Weswell Ellis (37-7)
Shane: Ac Ah 3h 5d
Wes: 10h Qh 4d 10c
River: Ad and Shane gets the massive double up to just over 100k, Wes however is still clearly comfortable with 50k left
----
Largest Stacks:
(37-3): David Pilkington - 50k
(37-6): Shane Pollington - 100k
(37-7): Weswell Ellis - 50k
(25-5): Long Sui - 47k
-
Weswell Ellis just bust in dramatic fashion, the table went insane and one person now has a bucket ton of chips!
From second hand accounts, at 800/1600 there was a raise to 3,200...two callers only for a raise to 16k...everyone calls to a flop of Ax 2x 5x with two spades...They then all get it in with these hands
Ax Kx Qx 6x (no spades)
Ax Jx 5x 9x (no spades)
Kx Kx Qx Jx (2 spades)
You can see where this is going...Case king on the turn, followed by a spade on the river, Wes busts, another stack is crippled and one person is up to around 110k
That person? Dawn Dineen (37-5), APAT regular and member of this years US team
-
In the razz Wayne Smith (14-3) wants it on record he"s told the table he"s gonna win the bracelet...the last time he said that...
This happened...would you bet against that?

John Murray having a torrid time of it in the Razz. Despite looking forward to it all week, he"s been rewarded with a selection of very high cards (Kings, Queens). Bringing in 5 out of 8 pots, and losing the other 3, he"s down to 3k from his 6k starting stack.
-
Big pot on Table 3
Seat 9 raised to 1,500.
Dave Potter shoved for 11,500 with AQ suited.
Paul McGuinness calls.
One of the Hetton Mob - Ryan Kilby - then reraises all in, putting the decision to Paul, after seat 9 folds.
Paul CALLS and shows Kings.
The Hetton Mobster shows Aces.
Potter looks resigned to his fate.
The flop gave a flush draw to the Aces which delivered on the turn with a King, giving Paul outs to a full house.
The River.......pairs the board.
That"s a huge pot of c. 95k for Paul and we see Dave exit in 112th. Ryan sits with around 15k.

Moving down to the last 18 with 15 getting paid one of the tables heats up with yet another chiplead change.
Joined on a board of Kd 9s 6h Derek Rowland (25-2) lead out for 10k, Dan Dennehy (25-3) calls only for Suhail Elorfi (25-8) to re-pop it to 60k...basically putting both of the players all in, Derek gets out of the way after some thought...but Dan takes a while pondering...
Suhail pulls some chips back almost to his stack, making the motion that his opponent will fold...Dan tanks for a little longer and eventually shoves, Suhail literally snaps him off and its all in on 25!
Dan: Qh 8h Js 10c
Suhail: Kh Kc 6s 9d
Suhail ahead with the trip kings, dan drawing to the straight draw...the turn and river BOTH deliver in the form of 10d and Qd respectively...Suhail is visabily disgusted, questioning how Dan ever makes the call knowing he"s behind...Nevertheless the double was for 69,100, pushing Dan up to around 140k
-----
As it later turns out, although we didnt catch his bustout hand, Suhail was crippled down to 26k and bust shortly afterwards in 18th place

Just had a quick word with Darren Shallis.
He"s very much still in the tournament; as we might expect of one of APAT's all time most successful players. Clearly a glitch somewhere in the DTD exiting system - but Shallis fans can rest easy again.
-
Darren Shallis = 45k.
Phil Tompkinson = 11k.
Carl Pilgrim 48k.
