I know it would mean something in a live event but what does it matter online.?

Most poker rooms use "beep notifications" when you"re running low on time, or it"s your turn, as a way to alert you.
This is the online event to accompany UK Deaf Poker"s June 15th live event.

I had read the link about it but was just curious as to why an Online competition would be restricted to Deaf people only.
After some thought, a competition can be run however the organisers wish and place whatever restrictions on the entrants.
It can only be good though for APAT branding in the long run...

Ordinarily it wouldn"t be restricted.
However, this is the online leg of the UK Deaf Poker champs. The live event is restricted to deaf players, so the online leg is too.
