Title: Poker Prop bet - anybody up for this
Post by: AAroddersAA on May 21, 2013, 12:49:37 PM
HI Guy"s

Currently trying to get my motivation back to play poker so I came up with this idea from reading Asa"s blog. It ties in with my current attempts to gain a good understanding of the 180 man turbo"s on Pokerstars.

Month of June prop bet on Pokerstars. The idea is to make the most money from playing exclusively the $2.50 this gives motivation to both try and win and put in good volume.

Mainly for bragging rights but I was thinking $10 per man. 50% goes to winner and 50% to a charity of the winners choice or maybe Carl"s just giving page? I will maintain a leader board using Sharkscope so that everybody knows where they are and what they need to do to win.

If you are up for it them please post your Pokerstars userid in the thread. There does not need to be a huge number of us to do this as I see it but reckon it would make for a good thread. Everybody could update the thread with how they are doing and I would do a leaderboard update once a week. We go my Sharkscope for the leaderboard. To play you will need to unlock results sites for Pokerstars.

Must be fun for a month?

My Pokerstars ID is (obviously - see sig) 33teetwo33

Rules

1) Min of 10 games played to be able to win, anybody who fails to complete 10 games will automatically lose.

2) All players entering agree to send $10 to the winner. The winner will then donate half of this to a charity of their choice.  *

3) Sharkscope will be used to Determine profit. All players need to make their stats visible on Sharkscope+

* This is done entirely on trust I would not expect any issues with the people entering this sending the $10 to the winner but if somebody was to fail to do so nothing can really be done.

+ Sharkscope is the most accurate method available. It is not 100% though and does sometimes miss tournaments. The leaderboard will be produced based on what Sharkscope says and not individual trackers, OPR or any other method of determing results.

Could be fun,

would there be a min/max amount of games to try and keep it fair or would it be just as many as you can squeeze in within a month?

Min 10 games? Just to stop somebody playing one winning and stopping for the month :-)

I don"t think there should be a max playing more games is not always an advantage to be honest.

Just thinking out loud,

We could agree an opening BR for every one to start on, almost like a buy in say $50 + $10.

You must stake atleast 50% of this minimum ( 10 games )

If you bust your out, but can buy back in for $50 + $10 ( build the pot + more for charity )

Whoever has the highest BR left the end of June wins

What you think?

I would keep it as simple as possible. Most profit wins with a min of 10 games.

Rod - were you definitely thinking just $2.50 180 turbos? No reg speed, hypers etc?

Would like to get involved in this - but you"re not suggesting they are the only games you"re gonna play all month? We just filter out the other games to create the results for the leaderboard?

Was hoping this would generate some interest. Great to see some of APAT's best taking an interest So far we have:-

BOINGBLITZ
josharp01
adilong1
amcgrath1uk
Swinebag22

Confirmed as interested. How sick is that list, there is not a weak link there. The winner will sure have to play some great poker to best these guy"s. I am also playing but am likely to be an easier spot than these five !!!!!!

To be honest Kav that would make it harder to run and I don"t want an admin nightmare (I am very lazy) I think most money won will be easy for me so I"ll stick with that :-)

I would keep it as simple as possible. Most profit wins with a min of 10 games.

Rod - were you definitely thinking just $2.50 180 turbos? No reg speed, hypers etc?

Hi Mark

I agree with keeping it simple. The reason I went for these to be honest is they are the fastest to fill. The standard $4.50 fill slowly by comparison and it is hard to play a decent number of them in a session. Can we please go with my suggestion to start with and if successful we can tweak and run again next month (maybe there is even a way to get it onto APATs room).

Would like to get involved in this - but you"re not suggesting they are the only games you"re gonna play all month? We just filter out the other games to create the results for the leaderboard?

Yes, Filter out other results was my thinking. I am guessing we will all want to play other games during the month on Stars

Rodders...use OPR to check winnings...much easier and open to all to view

This is cool, can you filter on OPR? Didn"t think you could which is why I said Sharkscope but will take a look now.

Can"t figure out how to filter it to just $2.50 180 manners? Anybody wanna help me with that?

If you said most profit from 20 games then I would be interested (e.g. $50 staked total) because anyone who has a time opportunity and can do volume will be advantaged by this.

^^^^ this.....and Rodders not sure if u can filter like that on OPR tbh.....plus only prob with OPR is that everyone needs to be opted in for results to show up I believe unless theyve changed it!!

This sounds good, a round 20 should be fair on everyone

The idea is to encourage the players to play as many as possible. Yes it favours people who can play more but that is the idea. You can play 20 games in one day really easily.

I think this is also a great idea and I think it would be something to do separately to this? Can somebody start a thread for it if? you could even do the $4.50 standard games on this if you preferred as volume would be less of a consideration. In fact there may even be a way of getting it done on the apat poker room with a limited number of games? That would be good as it would support apat. This one involves volume though and that requires the "Stars traffic.

^^^^ this.....and Rodders not sure if u can filter like that on OPR tbh.....plus only prob with OPR is that everyone needs to be opted in for results to show up I believe unless theyve changed it!!

This is the same in Sharkscope and I mentioned it in the OP.

So there is no limit on the number of games you play. If nobody who has signed up already objects we will say 10 games minimum. I think we are going to have to use Sharkscope as unless I am missing something obvious you can"t filter to the $2.50 180 man games on OPR?

June means June people, not May, stop using all your flip tokens before it starts :-)

Awesome, more people this is gonna be good by the looks of it we have

ajcairns
Mary
Cundallini

Will update Leaderboard post by the end of the day.

That gives us 10 people at the moment which makes it worthwhile.

We also have the question of the overall result, as a group how much profit do you think these ten players will make in June? I am going to say $400 profit.

It is mainly about getting shoving and calling ranges right. If you can do that you should be able to play lot"s of tables at one. Personally I struggle with more than 4 these days.

Yeah the one I won last night ( brag  ;D ) took roughly an hour and 40 mins.

As for the late levels, if your raising from an early position be prepared to shove as there wasn"t many people seeing a flop without being all in!!! Also the shoves we"re very wide a lot of Ax hands being thrown about and very low pairs.

Pretty sure OPR doesn"t filter for rodders to see $2.50 180s. So sharkscope it is then, even though this does miss the odd result or 2.

Having said that OPR missed my warm up bink from 4 years ago, so neither are perfect.

Looking forward to giving this a good stab in June. Off to work on my ranges now ;)

They run non stop at all times near enough.

So it depends how many tables you can play and how long you are going to play for. If you play 5 tables you will get them up inside 15 minutes easily and after that keeping 5 tables open, replacing them as you lose/win them is easy. If you can play more than 5 then you will be able to play more. On average you probably spend between 30-40 minutes on the tournaments so say 5 every 40 minutes on average (more if you can play more tables).

Some of the worlds best 180 players will play upwards of 200 games some days. This is playing 20 tables at a time with an ROI of about 13%.

Here is a good example. Ray Norton"s (Mondatoo from Blonde) stats (I am sure he would not mind being used as an example) http://www.sharkscope.com/#Player-Statistics//networks/PokerStars/players/mondonewc

So assuming you are good enough to match his ROI (this may be fair enough as the games are not as tough at this level) you will win 33 cents per game long term.

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/promotions/100-billion-celebration/golden/#utm_medium=CRM&utm_source=Email&utm_campaign=E67770

PokerStars real money Sit & Go's will be lined with gold from June 17-23, as we celebrate 100 Billion Hands with our new Golden Sit & Go's!
We aim to award $1M to Sit & Go players over the course of the promotion, but it could be more! The amount will grow with an increase in the number of Sit & Go's played. It's up to you - the more you play, the more chance you'll have of winning!
There are three levels of Golden Sit & Go:
Double prize pool + two buy-ins per player
Quadruple prize pool + four buy-ins per player
Ten times prize pool + ten buy-ins per player
If you're lucky enough to be dealt in the richest level then you could benefit by thousands of dollars!

Indeed we can sir. The penguin can also play if he wants too.

I think he plays higher than this though.

Oh Yes, league just got more epic than leagues should be allowed to be. I kinda see Ger making an effort here as well which means he is a real threat to win.

Ger to unlock just transfer 3 cents to Sharkscope, they will return it for you and your sharkscope will be unlocked and you can commence the ownage.

Guy"s

Just a reminder that this begins tomorrow and you need to have your Sharkscope unlocked.

To unlock it just player transfer 3c to "Sharkscope" in Pokerstars, you will get the 3c back and it will unlock your stats. I will give everybody until Monday morning to get their Sharkscope unlocked and usable.

I will update the leaderboard on Monday as well after the first weekend and will then update it each Saturday.

Good Luck to everybody.

Just played my first ever 180 sit & go. The play was different to what I expected. I had to adjust quickly to what was happening. Taking down the pot pre-flop was a rare sight, and there was much more 3 betting than I expected in the early stages.
With a decent stack calling with A 10 to a 20BB shove seemed like optimal play to me in this comp ?
I have never seen so many all-ins. Maybe my first taste of these 180s was not typical ? I am looking forward to playing my next one. I finished 15th for $3.89 in my first one.

I have been playing cash games 6 max $20 recently, and obviously the two are worlds apart. Maybe my mindset was still in this mode, and why this format came as a bit of a shock.

Just to confirm in our league is it the player that accumulates the most prize money, not the player who makes most profit after deducting the $2.50 entry fees?

It is most profit

What you described is fairly typical. These are basically a different game to a cash game.

Knowing how to play them though teaches skills that can come in very handy in those difficult tournament situations when you hit the "pinch point" of a tournament.

Managed to bubble ( more or less another), had 6bb"s, initial raise, short stack all in, I shove 88 and run into AA KK and QQ!

I haven"t started yet but shall get underway tonight hopefully.

Been an interesting read so far and yes any  Ac x will generally get shoved in these and it gets worse in the later levels as there is pretty much a shove every hand.

Total car crash weekend, played about as badly as it is possible to play in these. Played 42 for a total loss of $87.

Did not get anything right from bet sizing (which is really hard to get wrong in these) to my pushing and calling ranges from different positions. Deserved to get crushed and did.

Will be happy to finish this not down on these this month now.

Title: Re: Poker Prop bet - anybody up for this

So the first weekend of games is over and almost everybody is on the board. Although sample sizes are currently very small Mark Porter has moved into pole position with a profit of $104 from 10 games including one win. This gives him a nice lead at this stage but he will not be able to sit back as we have PokerRoyalFlush in second with some nice work in his first 8 games showing a profit of $26.78 which is very respectable. The only other player in Profit is Rob "Swinebag" Swindells. Rob is one of my tips to do very well in this along with Asa (amcgrath1uk) and Adam (Sharplea). Needless to say APAT National Champions like Brian Yates (BOINGBLITZ), Stu Ward (Fatcatstu)  and Darren Shallis (Newportlad) are likely to climb the table and may well push for the win at the end of the month.

It is still very early days and almost anybody can still win this. The table will be updated each Saturday morning now. Who will make the move this week?

Can Mark build on his lead and pull away?

Who will make the move this week and put themselves bang into contention?

Can Rodders recover from an terrible start and pull himself back into the black?

The next update to the table is on Saturday morning, by then we may well start to see the patterns of how this is going to go.

have unlocked the sharkscope this morning

Yes I know mate, checked it. If people have not had a chance to unlock it yet then that is fine as long as they have not actually played any games. Once you start playing though it needs to be unlocked.

Hopefully we will have a close finish with a few people involved. It needs to be open so that they can check how their rivals are doing. Would make an interesting end to the league.

Not trying to be unfair on anybody here but this just seems the fairest way of doing it.

Hi Steve

Not too late mate. As long as you have not played any $2.50 Turbo"s already in June.

The "fee" is $10 which we will all send to the winner at the end of the league via player transfer (yes this is done on trust) and the winner will donate half of it to a charity of their choice. That"s about it.

Are you in?

Tilted beyond belief.

Lose the following:

AA v QQ
KK v QQ
Q5 v 77 on a QQ3 board.
99 v 66
and thats the ones i am miles in front.

Need to flip better as well.

2 more min cashes today...sigh

Lessons learned from the prop bet so far:

1.)AA does not beat any other pocket pair when AIPF
2.)Getting them in after flopping top set will never ever get you paid
3)If you think you"re behind....get the chips in quick

Forgotten what it"s like to win a race! Onwards....maybe not upwards...but onwards!  ;D

I am dif getting it in there every time.....4 blanks for me tonight

Stick to what you know....My rest of the evening was spent playing 111 hands of limit omaha h/l up $200 for the session and my roll has just passed the 4 figure for the 1st time in over 8 or 9 years....i lost count the amount of time I have busted and redeposited but something has just clicked for me since playing my 1st APAT over the easter weekend

Just an observation, but it looks pretty obvious that 10 games was ridiculously low for a minimum figure. I think 50 wouldv"e been fair myself.

I would be surprised if anybody can stay above 15% over a very big sample.

between 12% and 15% is where some of the best players are on these (although they would be better at this level of course)

I"d forgotten that Stars had changed the payout structures to 27 pay rather than 18.

Which means that 15% ITM is average, for the very best players 20-25% should be obtainable at this level imo.

My experience with these is that I tend to group results, ie in one batch of 10, I won 2, FT"d another 3 or something similar. I"ve also played 25 with just bare min cashes. Variance is fun  :-\

My target is a top 2 finish every 30 which combined with a few min cashes, should be profitable

Just looked at my PokerTracker and I"m at 14% ITM and 10% ROI over 3,000 games.  As said earlier, sample sizes below 1,000 games are pretty meaningless, variance is brutal in these.

ITM% isn"t a great stat to indicate how you"re doing anyway, they"re all about top 3 finishes really.

What gets me is that they are so hard to cash in, but when you make a final table, you may end up with little more than double your stake. The payout is just so top heavy, but even at the final table luck plays such a massive factor.

ITM stat is one of those oddly misleading numbers, similar to w$sd for cash players.

At first glance you would think that a player A who wins at showdown 65% was doing better than player B who wins 52% at showdown, however, to have that high a success rate at showdown player A has to be folding the best hand too often and player B will be the more profitable player.

Likewise ITM, the player who aggressively aims for the top heavy prize places over min cashes will have a lower ITM % and a higher winrate.

Bottom line is ROI, or for high volume players, hourly rate, some of the better SnG players are by design breakeven for ROI but generating a healthier hourly rate via rakeback volume.

Started a session of 9.

1 lasted 1 hand, 44 into JJ, flop J4x where all the money went in

2nd deepest one, at 100/200, it"s flatted twice on my bb, I open shove with KQos, a Russian on the button calls for 60% of his chips with 98os, flop is QQ4 and I lose...

The only 1 I"m left in, 2 shorties shove, I reshove with AJ suited, they have 88 and 22... of course after a 223 flop....

Sitting 13/75 in this one, 8 blanks and I don"t think I"ll be playing any more today..

Don"t forget tomorrow is the exciting leaderboard update. Can anybody close the gap on the run away train that is Mark Porter. Who will be showing a profit who will be struggling? How will the group be doing against the games overall.

This is still very early days and the swings in these things are massive so at the moment a loss of around $100 is not that much as long as you are playing the correct strategy you can recover. Volume is the key as you will lose a LOT of races and takes a LOT of beats. You will win as many races though and give as many beats.

We still have over three weeks to pla so it is anybodies game still.

That didn"t work btw, I am still in the red *lol* Although the loss figure is certainly now a lot less.

I have completed the update and the first week is over the table is now correct going by Sharkscope as of 10:30am this morning.

Great weeks for Mark Porter and TallPaul as they move clear at the top. Paul has put in great volume and this has paid off and if he keeps his form up he might well challenge Mark at the top very soon. Knowing Mark he won"t be giving up his advantage easily though and will be pushing for more profit this week. Paul will be after him though I am sure.

These games are very swingy though and a good run and anybody can be challenging for the top. I am currently down about $30 (with the games I have played since the table was run), however earlier this week I was down around $130, with some decent volume I hope I can get back in profit. Any loss of less than $120 can be turned around in one game so next week we will also certainly see some swings.

If you have a good strategy and put in the volume you cannot really lose. How many people can you name who are currently losing but will be winning by next week? I am going to go for three.

AAroddersAA
Swinebag
BOINGBLITZ

Reckon you can do better? Make the predictions and put the pressure on them :-)

Keep the updates coming on how you are doing yourselves as well. Especially Mark and Paul, heres hoping for a close finish :-)

Had a bad day yesterday, down about $40 and also got called "the worst reg ever".

Yeah 100% for sure mate. A 3000 game sample size with excellent profit ROI means nothing ;-)

Bad days like that are pretty normal though I would say. I have no doubt you will get it back before the month is out.

I managed to bink one yesterday (my second 1st place from only 3 final tables in 97 games, quite some run good that).  $66.41 profit on the day means I can almost see Mark zooming over the hill and far away.

Come on Paul and the rest of us, let"s get after him to at least make it an interesting finish.

Asa, have corrected yours mate, thanks for letting me know.

I have played two today and bricked out both, will play some more whilst watching the GP later I think. I am now up about $40 so I am hoping for a good week to give myself the chance to challenge Mark and Paul, that will be hard though. Hopefully can do good volume.

Outdraws left right and centre still on these!

Pretty sure my record of 18 games isn"t quite right Rodders....I couldn"t be so far down with that few games! ;)

You are quite correct, Thanks Jo. It should have been 43 games.

Don"t worry about the outdraws, they are normal and a lot of your games are going to end like this. The important thing is getting the chips in at the right time, it"s not even that important about being ahead as long as you are pushing. Even if you are behind you can still win. Also don"t be scared to push at around the bubble if it is correct to do so, don"t fold a hand that is ahead of your opponents range just to min cash as you don"t even double your buyin. You need to build your stack to give yourself the best chance of going to the top 3 or 4 places which is when you make your profit.

Just to scare you all, I"m starting today. Good luck :)

glglgl

Not that you need it in these, they are your game.

The outdraws are vile, just play unexploitably and youll win in the long run :)

I used to play these constantly, and ive seen even the best regs do on 250 buyin downswings as its easily done.  A nice rule to remember in these:

You can shove ATC, bvb, with effective stacks of 11bb or less.

Yes, even 72o, 23o etc is +chipEV in the long run.

This is all true, I"ve had many 100+ buyin downswings.  I play up to 20 tables at a time so I don"t even see most of the suckouts, but when I get down to the money I pull the tables out of the stack, so it"s particularly annoying when they happen at the last two tables.

Shoving any two from the SB is all good, but when you always seem to be dominated, or their ace rag always holds up and yours never does, you start to doubt yourself.

Anyway, rant over, back on the horse tomorrow.

Lol i was the same, 24 tables stacked on screen one.

Once on final 2 tables, id pull it to screen 2 so i can try and crush the FT bubble :)

Yeah they can be hard when you lose a few races in a row and can"t win with a rag ace or beat a rag ace in a BvB type spot. I was down $22.50 yesterday btw.

I suppose you just have to remember you get good runs as well as bad ones and when you run good if you are playing the right game in these you should be good for a deep run. They are not hard to beat in the long run, and the long run is not that hard to get too, if you really made an effort 500 in a month could be done by most of us.

The BvB shove is spot on, but you will not see many BvB spots as the antes go up really. If we know that our opponent is half decent and he shove 10BB effective into us BvB (with antes in play) what should our calling range be?

A2+, KQ and 66+ ?????
Title: Re: Poker Prop bet - anybody up for this
Post by: AAroddersAA on June 10, 2013, 11:35:24 AM
Chance of something here 1/24 with 25K at 400/800/75

I will either go deep or crash and burn, smart money is on the latter *lol*

EDIT - Came 4th, lost a massive race for over half the chips 4 way. Still puts me around $50 in the black for this so far after 108 games played. If I win that race I should get at least second and am favorite to win it so pretty sure it was correct to get it in.

Way too tight imo.  If we are near or in the money, then ICM has a significant bearing.... however if we"re still a way out, and we know the SB is a decent reg that will shove literally ATC when it"s folded to him in the SB (so long as the BB has enough behind to be able to fold of course), then our range to call in the BB should be pretty wide.  I would call with any J+ in this spot.

Against a truly random range, and with eff stacks <20bb, 22+,A2s+,K2s+,Q2s+,J2s+,T2s+,A2o+,K2o+,Q2o+,J2o+ has equity of 56.28%.  In these shovefest turbos, even if I believe I"m better than the field, I can"t fold a 56% edge  (unless ICM is factor nearer the money)

Not sure there are enough capable players to call with that range at this level for it to be profitable

AA raised to 3 x bb, utg, 2 mid positions limp
flop 3c Ts 7h pot 525 i bet 600 villain calls, other folds
turn Jc i bet 750 which puts villain all in, he calls shows JK
river J

3 hands later get em all in pre with AQ (630) get called by KJ and A7
7 on turn kills me

A quick look this morning and I THINK the top 3 looks like this

1) Mark +$187
2) Rodders +$46.77
3) Ger +$25.58

Is anybody else currently in profit? Update us if so.

If this is correct then Mark is more than a win clear with a lead of $140. He is in a position where he can sit back and see what myself and Ger do before he decides if he should continue to grind these or just sit on his lead. Really he only needs to be concerned if myself or Ger get a top two finish and until that happens he is pretty safe. The fact the Coventry event removes a weekends potential play from all of us helps him as well as it lowers potential volume.

A bad run has pushed Paul down the league but his volume is immense so I think he will turn it around and be in profit by the end of the month. He needs two wins to catch Mark though so at the moment he is struggling but that can all change so quickly in these.

How is everybody else doing? I will update the table on Saturday morning.

Barely played this week as been so busy. Will still be trying to get in as much volume as possible when I can over next couple of weeks, won"t be sitting back regardless of the league.

Will 4/6 table all day Saturday and see how that goes.

As my school teacher used to say "could do better"
I haven"t worked out the best strategy for these yet and I haven"t read any strategy articles.
Not cashed since my last update. I am currently on a crest of a slump  :D
But I won"t let them beat me. I am beginning to form a basic strategy in my mind from experience and intend to clock up them final table cashes in the next couple of weeks.
I love my poker and I love a challenge. I will be working hard to crack the code.

Table updated for 15/06/2013

Well amongst the Season Seven annoucement and the Phil_TC Stag arrangements we have another exciting update.

Mark Porter is quite frankly looking out of sight. He is a massive $144 clear at the half way point. Although this is still beatable one of the chasing pack will need to have a great run to challenge him. It is possible in these but Mark has a great game and I expect him to continue to make profit between now and the end of the league so his position is a powerful one.

Rodders (AAroddersAA) and Ger (Duke3016) have given chase though. Ger would not admit him himself but he is a much (and I mean MUCH) better player than he is usually given credit for and if he should put his mind to it then he can go on a run and catch Mark. He is fearless at the table which is important in these games. Rodders (me) can"t play poker but is a luckbox so might even manage to challenge Mark before the end of the league, although the smart money is probably on Ger shooting past me at some point this week.

Behind these three I am, at some point, expecting to see some movement from both Adam Sharples (Sharplea) and Asa (amcgrath1uk). They are both sit n go experts so don"t be surprised to see then shoot up the leaderboard at some point and move into profit.

Our APAT National Champions are not having it all their own way showing just how tough these games really are. Darren Shallis, Stu Ward, Steve Redfern and Brian Yates are all further down than you would expect. Can they get back into profit and show that are still as good as ever. I think they most likely can (well all except Darren, he is a fish - only joking mate *lol*).

The big surprise of the week is to see TallPaul drop down the leaderboard but it really does show the swingy nature of this game. I am very aware that Paul is a winning reg in these games and have shared tables with him before and know his game is strong. However the swings in these games can get the best of us. However for every swing there is a swong and I would still not be surprised to see Paul there or thereabouts at the end of it. His volume is so good having played more than twice as many games as anybody else.

The reality is that at the moment everybody is still in it. Mark is a massive favourite but a couple of deep runs on a couple of finals can push anybody right up and challenging.

So what is going to happen this week?

1) Mark Porter will take his profit above $200
2) Adam and Asa will make moves to challenge
3) TallPaul will swing back up the leaderboard
4) Ger will drink a beer
5) Stu will check into a hotel

Good Luck all

I certainly hope so, just about to start a long session - my run has to turn round eventually.  Although I"ve been running slightly better in the 8 s - up $650 for those in the month  :)

Rather have it that way round!

Like trying to chase Speedy bloody Gonzalez. :D

Was actually watching that one, not sure if you noticed I commented good luck in the chat. You were unlucky not to win as the guy who went into the final with half the chips seemed to want to give you all his chips but you lost a couple of races when winning one would have put you in a great spot. Still good work again, warming up for Coventry nicely.

I have only played three but have had a 5th and a 7th (couldn"t convert from either final table d"oh) just under $30 up for the day, so not complaining. Plenty of time for that to change though.

The exciting update is tomorrow. Will Mark Porter have pulled further clear or will somebody have made up some ground on him?

Who will be winning and who will be losing. I am slightly down this week (only a few dollars) but this has given Mark the chance to pull away from me. Let"s hope somebody has chased him down a bit to make for an exciting finish. Tomorrow will be my last big grinding day of the month so I am hoping to make a final charge there and having one turn golden would be nice too.

Come on everybody let"s make a final charge and Give Mark a sweat on his win.

My run of death continues in the $2.50"s, finishing 12th my best tonight, after being hit by 5 2 outers from the bubble onwards.

Fired up an $8 180, and finished 2nd, so has pretty much got me out of my $2.50 hole :)

I have been on a downswing all week (not cashed in about 30), don"t worry about them it turns round. Just keep plugging away.

Have a bug and not played nearly as much as I would like.
Managed a 2nd and a couple of min cashes. Gonna grind the weekend
As not in Coventry. 8 tabling and 14hr sessions FTW.

Good luck big man

I have had a terrible week trying to force it and getting nowhere dropped about 50 dollars so I am out of it hopefully will be a close finish though

I haven"t played all week and will be in Coventry from Saturday so unless I can be bothered to grind tonight/tomorrow looks like I"ve thrown in the towel.

Would definitely participate again though.

Hi Guy"s

Sorry I have not updated leaderboard yet, I am still in Coventry at the moment. Will update as soon as possible the top two are:-

Mark Porter +£112
David Blacklaw +71.41

So they are still both in with a great chance.

Didn"t bother in the end, feeling a bit hungover so just played the $1m freeroll (finished 1200ish for $90) and took a shot at the warm up where my KK got beaten AGAIN (this time by AA) for a top 10 stack just after the money bubble.

I am still in Coventry, after making a 5th APAT final table (Blatant brag) and railing Warren Jones to victory.

Will update the final scores on the doors tomorrow.

In my case the advantage of not reaching the final table at Coventry means I got the chance to play on pokerstars and move up the league table   :-)

I am glad I played these 180 sit&gos. I have never thought about playing these before, they previously didn"t appeal to me.
They took a bit of adapting to as my game selection is usually restricted to mtts online and Live, and 6 max cash.
I can honestly say that I have learnt from the experience, especially the end game.

More knowledge in my quest for poker perfection  :D    8)

UPDATED

AND YOUR WINNER IS..........................

Mr Mark Porter

Great performance by Mark and also by Craig and David to put pressure on him at the end but Mark played really well during this league.

I was terrible last week and played the the wrong times to try and bink a win to have a chance of winning, the league was good though.

Can everybody please ship Mark $10 as agreed.

Tension is killing me....
Last night 11.10pm I entered the last one to try and win the prop bet. I was absolutely knackered after driving two hours back from Coventry and only getting 4 hours sleep the night before. I had just finished the previous s&g and won it.
After 20 mins i was tourney chip leader and fell asleep  :D

Any conclusion on format for this month ? I thought great idea to increase interest compared to regular online grinding. Just a few thoughts - would it be better to reduce variance where possible if it is intended to reflect best performance. Perhaps by reducing no. of players and making regular sit"n"go rather than turbo. I suggest may be 27 player $3.50 standard sit n go"s on Stars. Winner is highest profit for month.

This is probably sour grapes on my part after poor performance last month, but I certainly acknowledge that Mark won on merit last month.

Happy to do another one for this month but you will not reduce the luck factor any more than the format we had. The games were selected for that as you can play loads of them, each one has quite a high luck factor but you get around that with volume. Still game selection is for the win.

We could just go with any game on Stars high ROI wins - starts this weekend up until UKCOAP. That lets everybody play their own best game.

Thoughts?
