We will be bringing you live updates and reports, as well as pics, from the 2013 APAT Masters direct from Wembley Stadium, London via this thread.
Des, Matt and Mark the Shark will be your APAT Team on the ground (hopefully literally!) to bring you all the action as it happens (ish - it could be a fair step from the tables to the Media Room) - but feel free to post your questions, support, update requests and comments as Season 7 starts off in style in the sun!

And here"s a taster of what"s in store for those making the trip up Wembley Way today.

The APAT Poker Masters will take place in one of these poker pods

They are hoping for over 600 players in the ISPT Day 2b. Yesterday there was only half those numbers, and the atmosphere was amazing.
Today is going to be incredible for all those playing.
-
The APAT Poker Masters is the only side event being played on the pitch. All the other side events are taking place in the Bobby Moore Suite, which is where the main event will move to from Monday.

They are running Sit n Go Satellites into the Main Event all day, just in case anyone fancies taking a punt. £260 buyin, win one and get yourself a 53k average stack into Day 2b, up until Late Reg closes.

And some might be lucky enough to meet this chap at the bar
2 hours into train ride south and can"t wait for this, due in at 12
There"s a bar :) how much for a beer? Trying to work out if the beer roll will cope.. thinking not :( x
*edit* Adam says its 4 pound a pint. Ouchy
*double edit* Leigh says its 4.50. FML x

Bottle of beer in the poker pods, served by a valet is £4.50 + the obligatory tip (depending on your generosity, sobereness, and who the valet is)
Water is £2.20 a bottle
Tea/Coffee is £2
You can get a pint at the bar outside the poker pods aswell, not sure of price, but probs around the £4.50 mark.
The restaurant is pricey, but sandwiches are £4, and they also have pasta salads, fruit pots, crisps, chocolate. Everything a PhilTC could possibly want.
Oh and it"s all served in Wembley. Inside the stadium, on the pitch. Excited much ? Safe travels.

Putting the final finishing touches to the APAT Room at Wembley.
when you had the idea APAT all those years ago - ever think you"d write something like that?!!
You should be very, very proud Sir.
-
Hey all and welcome to a VERY warm Wembley!
Play got underway pretty much on time - the players located in the Cruyff pod and there have been a few nifty moves on the tables that the Dutch maestro would have been proud of himself!
69 players got the Shuffle Up and Deal announcement - but late registration has been extended to Level 5 - so thats nearly 4 hours of play plus the break before entrance is closed - so if you are in the Wembley area, you still have LOADS of time to get down and join in!
Des is busy taking photos and we"ll be bringing you key hands and eliminations as they happen - although you have to climb half the stadium to get from the playing area to the Media room....poor Matt is a sweaty mess already - me - well im cucumber like of course......gasp...
-
Ahhh, now this picture makes sense!! I"ve just clicked who it is in the drawing!! :D

Any early predictions on who"s going to win this thing?
News from the ISPT - John Murray has doubled his starting stack up to nearly 50k.
-
Is there a list of all entrants for us to browse please, so we can send out our well wishes..
-
mid way through Level 3 and (amazingly) everyone is still going - no eliminations.
Up to 80 runners now, with a few more late regs.
Will try and get a runner list Carl - but there were a fair few no shows from this list of players who reserved a place - then a fair few on the day entrants - theres nothing listed on the DTD site that i can see as yet - but will look to get a list of names from the TD.

Lee Mulligan is out at the hands of Ben Cundall.
Lee"s AK was no match for Ben"s AT when a ten hit the board.

Tom Steuart-Feilding, Chef of World Renown - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Share-Cookbook-Celebrates-Common-Humanity/dp/0857830996 (Tom's recipe is on Page o2), pictured above 2nd from right as part of the APAT Team Championships winning GNF team, arrived at Wembley with a plan to play snug for the first few levels.
Unfortunately he punted off half his stack with King high in the first level, and is now down to 3.5k following a series of hands against guy opening 40% of pots, who always had the goods (JJ, QQ, AA).

Unfortunately Des, this gentleman has already been busted from the ISPT Main Event Day 2b, then entered the APAT Masters, only to see his remaining chips hoovered up by Jon MW.
So all in all, he may look happy, but not the best of days. ;D

Andy "I"d have smiled if I"d seen you were taking the picture" Duncan.
My stealthy approach always get them!
Meanwhile, in the Pele Pod, Andy"s better half Debjani is sitting with around 18k in the main event. Two to Debjani"s right? ISPT pro Liz Lieu.

The confident gait of a man with 327k chips in the main event, and a million reasons to hold onto them.
It is of course APAT marketing supremo, dog lover, and all round nice guy Leigh "Chipaccrual" Wiltshire.

Natalia Carruago is out of the APAT side event, and tells me of her exit (so apologies for not knowing the name of her opponent in this hand).
Holding Ac Kc, and facing a raise to 300, she 3-bets to 600. Everyone folds bar the initial raiser who makes the call.
The flop is the perfect dream of : Qc 10c 6c (!)
Her opponent fires out for 3,075. Natalia calls.
Turn: 10
Opponent fires out 7k. Natalia calls.
River: K
All-in. Call.
Her opponent shows KT for the rivered boat.
Natalia is left with 15% of her stack, but this soon goes in with AT vs AK. The board running out 776A2 is no help, and that"s the end of her journey.

APAT Online Satellite winner from Glasgow, Gerry Hendrick, gets his stack in good with Kh Kc against the 9h 9s of Dave Howard....the board is scary for Gerry as it flops 8c 8h 7h and turns a 5d......no 6 cries Gerry.....and to his relief, it isnt a 6.....it is however a 9c, and cruelly Gerry is eliminated.

Del Andrews, covers his buy ins through advertising deals :)
-
after some pre flop action, Delboy fires 3k into a raggy looking 10s 2d 6s 8h board - his opponent looks quizzically at Delboy and announces All In....to which Delboy reluctantly mucks his hand. No cards shown.....but he tapped the table in appreciation of what was a "good bet".

some hand action.....
folded round to the SB where Dan Dennehy, on heat at the moment, raises to 900....the BB ponders and flicks a 500 chip alongside his 400 investment to make the call...the flop comes Kc 9d 7h.....Dan slowly checks, the BB is having none of it and fires 2100 into the pot....Dan sheepishly folds...
Onto table 92 and a clash between big stacks Rony Halmi and Andy McBean.......theres already well over 2k in the middle as the board shows a flop of 10h 5d 6h....Andy bets 2100 but Rony repops to 5300....Andy tanks and eventually makes the call......both players check the turn, which is 3s....but when the river brings a 9d, Andy counts out 7500 and slides it forward....Rony clearly doesnt trust this, but with a wry smile folds his cards and taps the table...very nice pot for Andy, who now shows well over 40k
-
JPRound is unfortunately out.
:( I opened to 500 from the button with AK (11k stack) at 100/200/25a and BB calls. Flop is AK9 with 2 spades. I lead for 750 and g c-raised to 1550, I re-raise to 3400 and BB calls after a think. 9 on the turn and my las 6k goes in, when h instacalls I know he has A9.... Sigh!
Great experience, albeit brief.
GL to all the regs ESP TC because he"s a legend an he needs it :D

-
Andy McBean loses a tasty pot early on to Susan Pearson - AT being good on a K9K3A board
-
Nicky Roeg seems to have Phil Hertel"s number - takes another 15 k pot down with a river bet too good for Phil
-
Andrew Duncan picks up blinds and antes with an AI shove with KQs
Phil Tompkinson then raises PF to 3300 - Andrew Tracey calls
flop comes 9s 7c 6c 6c
Phil fires 5500.....Andrew shoves.....Phil eventually - reluctantly - folds
-
Dann Williams doubles his 23k stack up....shoving with AQ Andy McBean finds JJ to call him
Flop is AAQ.....pretty terminal that for Andy who has endured a torrid start to the days play.
-
flop comes 9s 7c 6c 6c
That"s one helluva flop!
-
man down - we lose Joe Carr-Hill as his AQ isnt good enough to see off the 33 of Kenneth Mcbride

Matt, Leigh and John Murray having a ball as the bubble bursts in the main event...they"re all in the money!
-
Big hand Action :
Glenn Larning raises from the SB to 3500 - Dave Howarth in the BB re pops to 9700
Glenn eventually calls to see a flop of 6h 5d 8s
Glenn Checks; Dave checks.
Turn is a 10s
Glenn fires 8k, Dave calls
River is Jd
Glenn checks, Dave moves all in - Glenn folds
-
Congrats on the cash guys.. now go on and get a 1,2,3.. :) :)
-
Andrew Duncan doubles through - shoving J6 on the button, he"s called by Andrew Tracey holding 22
Flop brings a Jack and Andy doubles thru - now on around 32k.
Apparently J6 is a BCPC special!
-
Andrew couldnt keep it going though - he"s shortly after taken out by Audrey Sheardown

Flop comes Kd 4d Qs
both check
Turn is 9c
Jenny checks, Pasquale fires 7k, Jenny raises to 17k - Pasquale folds, showing the Queen....Jenny obliges to show two red 9s......
-
Dave Howard endures a sick run of cards that culminates with him shoving with AT - and getting called by the KQ of Julien Fournier....the flop brings both a K and a Q and Dave, having been very well set, is now out. And looking pretty cheesed off.
-
Good luck to Rob Hallworth, Pasquale and Dann williams today!

Let me know if you want to see any pix of specific players at this point.
-
Updates on Mr Barber please gents :)
-
Jenny and Pasquale clash again - Jenny raising to 3600...Pasquale shoving all in for 25k - Jenny folding and showing 66....Pasquale showing TT.
Nicky Roeg loses a decent pot to Chris Charlet - a nasty ace on the river giving Wicky two pair, but Chris completes his wheel straight and takes a 30k ish pot down.
-
Updates on Mr Barber please gents :)
James slightly down on his day 2 starting stack - currently sat on around 20k
-
Audrey Sheardown continues her impressive charge - doubling up to around 75k after her AK sees off the TT of Saynarain Sookoo
-
I"m hearing that Leigh is now the chipleader in the ISPT main event with 470k chips, with 330 players left.
That"s our boy....
-
He just tweeted
"End of Level 11, up to 455,400 unchartered territory"
-
So nice, Leigh for the win!
-
Two quick eliminations :
Ian Bosley gets taken out by Kenneth McBride - AQ v QJ - Q8T5J board sends Ian crashing out
Meanwhile Dann Williams accounts for Andy McBean TT v AJ on a J85T7 board
-
down to 20 as we lose Kevin O Hanlon - taken down by Julien Fournier
-
make it 19....Gavin Priestley eliminated - i didnt catch the hand or who took him down.

-
Every hand now is very tasty, with over 5k in the middle before a card is dealt.....
Dwayne Stacey takes down a pot against Saynarain Sookoo
Nicky Roeg then outbets Chris Charlet to another 30k pot, whilst Saynarain takes some chips from Phil Tompkinson, who is getting dangerously low stacked
-
Matt Dale down to 75k in the last break I"m hearing.
Keep your spirits up Matt, still plenty of play left!

Just into Level 14 now - break at the end of this level - ill be able to bring you updated chipcounts at the end of this level along with who is now sat where.
-
Down to 2 tables, so as players change seats, a few chip counts :
Dann WIlliams 135k
Jenny Sherman 114k
James Barber 41k
Audrey Sheardown 78k
Pasquale di Bari 19k
Phil Tompkinson 25k
Stuart Kinghorn 125k
Nicky Roeg 82k
Chris Charlet 65k
Julien Fournier 60k
Dwayne Stacey 94k
Phil Hertel 29k
-
Pasquale di Bari goes - but the drama is on the other table as Phil Tompkinson doubles his 25k stack - then immediately is all in again with Ac Kc but has the Kd Ks to beat of Stuart Kinghorn
flop is 6c 3c 8d...turn is 10c river is irrelevant as Phil gets to now over 100k!
-
Susan Pearson down in 16th place

all action around Phil Tompkinson....on a Qc Ac 7h board there is a flurry of bets raises and eventually all ins between Phil and Julien Fournier....cards on their back reveal Phil holding A s Qh with Julien Kc 10c..the turn is a Jack, giving Julien one of his outs - a K on the river no good for Phil. Julien has 67200 in total making it a 140k pot - Phil again down to around 40k
-
Well played all left.

we are on the bubble as Rob Hallworth exits in 13th - his A6 hitting 2 pair on the flop - but in between them was a Queen that matched up nicely with Jaynarian Sooroo"s pocket Queens for a set.

Some news for Dale fans, from PokerNews.....
Neil McFayden had opened to 6,500 preflop and Tony G moved all in behind him for about 35,000 and Matt Dale made the call - not having heard that Tony G was all in. McFayden tanked and folded and Dale was forced to called the bet.
Tony G: {A-}{9-}
Dale: {8-}{8-}
It was a flip but Tony G managed to get there when he made a straighton the river of a {K-}{J-}{Q-}{4-}{10-} board.
-
hand for hand action is tense - Saynarian Sooroo the table aggressor - but when Jenny Sherman re pops what is becoming a standard raise to 13k for him, he mucks, showing A9....she tables 88 and takes the pot.
-
two big stacks lock horns as Chris Charvet and Dwayne Stacey go to war...pre flop Chris raises to 9k - Dwayne makes it 21 - Chris calls.
Board is a raggy 825
Chris bets 21k - Dwayne makes it 53k - Chris insta shoves....Dwayne insta folds.
Massive pot for Chris
-
Good luck to Phil, James and Ken. Well played Susiepea :"(

The two FT big stacks clash - a myriad of PF bets between Saynarian and Chris Charlet end with ALL the chips going in....Chris AA v Saynarian 66.
Board is 3T548 and amazingly second chippy of the FT, just 3 hands into the FT, is out.
Chris Charlet now a MASSIVE chip leader on over 500k
-
Chris now, as youd expect, running the table - 3 betting with reckless abandon - but players forced to respect the power of the big stack.
Nice for Jenny Sherman though, as when Chris does fold a hand, she gets a walk.
-
Nicky Roeg down in 8th - very small stack and he had to call the raise of Julien Fournier with 53 - Julien having 88 - the flop was decent, despite Julien hitting his set - 268, 3 on the turn, only a 4........but no, a 7 and the excellently entertaining Nicky is gone.

Many a schoolboy dream being fulfilled here...to play in a Wembley final.
-
Julien Fournier involved in everything at the moment - first he takes down a pot against Jenny Sherman on a K43 flop - Jenny folding to his flop bet - then he raises the next hand, only for Dwayne Stacey to re raise - to which he folds.
Julien then limps in, Chris Charlet raises to 9k, Kenneth McBride shoves all in his 40k stack - Julien folds but Chris calls.
Chris shows 88....Kenneth 77.
Board runs out 545Q3 and we lose Kenneth McBride in 7th place

FT has hit a bit of a flat spot - but comes back alive as first Dwayne takes down a nice pot against Chris Charlet - Dwayne raises the SB to 21k, Chris from the BB calls.
Flop is 4 A 8 - both check
Turn A - both check
River 7 - Dwayne bets 28k - Chris folds.
Then James Barber shoves AI UTG - Jenny Sherman asks for a count and makes the call (about 45k) - jenny shows AQ - James 66.
FLop is A69, 7 , T and James doubles thru.
Chris still massive chippy, with Julien and Dwayne both in good shape. Jenny, Dann and James all around the 100k mark
-
Dann Wiliams down in 6th - Dwayne Tracey raises to which Dann shoves - for a very large chuck of Dwaynes stack - but Dwayne still calls - behind though with KJ - Dann tabling A7.
Flop is nice for Dann 6 4 8 - but the turn is a Duke, the river a 3 and Dann is out in 6th for just shy of £1k.
-
Two quick eliminations :
Ian Bosley gets taken out by Kenneth McBride - AQ v QJ - Q8T5J board sends Ian crashing out
Meanwhile Dann Williams accounts for Andy McBean TT v AJ on a J85T7 board
Gutted to be KO"d short of the money. Ah poker, why do we love a game where all but one of us leaves disappointed?! At least I had an easy journey home (tube to Watford) and arrived in good time to get the grass cut. Now I"m sitting in front of the tennis on the telly and the poker updates on apat.com with a glass of Speckled Hen. See, I"m cheered up now and already looking forward to the next "suffle up and deal".... Thanks for a great tourney, and good luck to the few who are still locking horns. Cheers, Andy.
-
wowowowow....is the balance of power shifting????
Dwayne and Chris clash again - Dwayne raising the SB to 18k - Chris re raising to 40k.
Dwayne calls - flop is Ac Kd 10c
Dwayne checks - Chris, after peering at Dwaynes stack, announces all in.
Dwayne insta calls and says "i have a flush draw" - and so he does - 6c 4c
Chris tables Kh Ks
Turn is 2s
River is 5c
Dwayne now almost has parity with Chris - if indeed he isnt slightly ahead.
Tournament life on a 6 high flush draw....would you make that call? Discuss.
-

Devilfish and fish.
Matt's gone a bit short and is looking for a double up now. He spends his time between hands walking over and back to the payout structure sheet. :)
Leigh has had a tough couple of levels also and is now down to 260k. Still in a great position, just needs to weather the storm for the next level or two I would say.
-
Meanwhile, sat behind Devilfish and railing Matt is Debjani Duncan. Not saying that Matt doesn"t offer exciting poker viewing, but Debs proceeded to fall asleep on her chair, waking up to find that Devilfish had made her a sign...

Hope Dwayne now goes onto win. Top fella x

Vwp James great run sir.. Thanks for the great sweat!!

great performance james congratulations
-
Dwayne is crushing Chris heads up - he has a massive advantage over him now and Chris seems to be tiring quickly. The end could be nigh......famous last words!
-
Dwayne keeps going at Chris who seems to have no answer.....
Chris raises pre flop, Dwayne again re raises....Chris makes the all in call to which Dwayne calls....Chris sheepishly tables 54, but Dwayne has 22.....
flop runs out 95K86.....is this the start of the comeback?
Stacks now approx 750 v 500
-
Chris 4 bets Dwayne all in - nearly 700k now total - and Dwayne folds, showing an Ace.
Chris now takes the chip lead!
-
Come on Dwayne! (It"s Stacey, not Tracey - though this will allow me to tease him mercilessly, thanks Mark!)
He"d better win, I"m his lift back to Southampton and the price of petrol is going up!
Team Gotham FTW.

We have our winner.....
the battle was immense as both players fought each other as hard as before the deal for the cash was done....chipstacks flowed back and forth until came the key hand....
Chris raised to 50k, Dwayne repopped to 125k, Chris announced all in, Dwayne called.....
the flop was A5KQ2......the cards held were A5 v A9....
and the winner, having other JUST covered, and holding the A5....was...
Chris Charlet!
Massive commiserations to Dwayne - he played a great game and really had Chris on the ropes early on - but slices of form were crucial for Chris and he is a fine player and worthy champion - congratulations to him.
Its been an awesome event here at Wembley - been great to meet and see everyone - look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon.
Well done again to everyone who participated. Will live long in the memory.

Well played guys!
Had a great time - this reminded me why I enjoyed the Brighton tournament so much (the only other APAT I"ve played, so far): friendly welcoming players, good long structure with plenty of time to play, it also helped that I was getting the cards too. If only James didn"t keep hitting sets against me I might have got a medal too - bah! ;)
Hopefully make a few more tourneys this season, and will have great fun telling everyone I"ve played at Wembley 8)
Thanks to all the APAT team, and gl to Leigh in the main event

Thank you Des for picking the most demented photo of me ::)
The 4c6c hand....I know when I am out classed and knew that I would need to take a gamble or two to give myself a chance.
