She"ll only need a couple of hours to entertain herself before you join her, so she can borrow my Mountain Bike, Wayne, and go for a ride in Glentress, just outside Peebles. ;D

......or maybe she could boil an egg....... ;D

Gyle shopping centre is just across the road from the Casino. Has tons o shops, upstairs eating area with a selection of different food types too. This is within walking distance, 10 mins max.
-
Tons of shops is pushing it a bit. It"ll take half an hour to walk round the Gyle. Nothing of interest near the casino, she"ll need to head into town if she wants to fill up the day.
-
LOL enough to keep em busy for a while tho swordfish, marks, boots, ladies clothes shops, and coffee upstairs, they wanted somewhere close, its the closest within walking distance

Did you mean it would take a man half an hour to walk round the Gyle, I"m sure being a woman Mrs Nosey P should comfortably be able to spin that out to at least 3 hours. I"m at the Gyle with my wife every week and a "quick" trip normally takes 90 minutes, when she goes with her mother you are talking at least double that.
Mary is spot on about there being nowhere else within walking distance but the Marriott is a great base to bus it in and out of the city centre.
-
Half an hour should be about as long as she"ll need. :D Poor Nosey!

Have I got a reputation of being a bad player? ::)
If I turn up at 3.00 does that qualify me for lasting longer than half an hour? ;)
Ian, I thought you was my friend :"(

I have to admit, Wayne, I"m in no position to take the pee. I shall probably be out within a couple of hours and railing Caz ;D

There you go Wayne. Ian can keep your missus entertained. He can carry her shopping.

He can pay for it as well :)

If anyone"s interested the Aussie Pink Floyd are playing at the Playhouse on Saturday night and they"re excellent. I saw them at the Clyde Auditorium last year and they played a 3+ hour set.
Hope I don"t get the chance to see them though ;D

Hey, I"m not made of money !
It"s bad enough having to keep Caz happy with her exotic tastes.....I mean, I ask you, garlic AND bread..........? ;D

The Gyle shopping Centre is pretty mediocre tbh. A 15 min car trip or 30 minute bus journey to Ocean terminal, plenty of shopping, eating places and a tour of the Royal Yacht would be a good afternoon imo.
And of course there is Harvey Nicks in the town centre.

Uhm, I"m kinda stuck with the same challenge. Having the girl around would be a distraction for my game, like it or not. Anyways, she"d get bored of the casino in ten minutes I bet (she"s never been in one and is not interested in poker).
So maybe its a good idea to get all of them to meet up and let them go out shopping, gossiping, drinking tea etc. together? Would be great, since which one of us really enjoys those shopping trips, honoustly? I like it as long as things "keep moving", but try this and try that and spend half an hour in each shop...am I ranting? :-\

For any player who needs some motivation to win. I think it would be a great idea for all the WAGs to meet up and do shopping, lunch, shopping, dinner, see a show etc. This would surely motivate partners to actually win something, Dublin is expensive!! :o

My partner"s playing....maybe I should go shopping instead....?

Within walking distance from the casino is St Stephens Green, St Stephens Green Centre, shopping mall, Grafton Street, fashionable shoping area, leading down to the River Liffey, cross to find OConnell Street or hang a left for trendy Temple Bar area. The is a pub every 50 paces. Enjoy!! ;D

You can be APAT's first HAB then. ;D

How about - the Street Entertainment Festival which is on all this w/e - in Merrion Square I do believe.
Also I think there is an opportunity to meet and listen to some writers and I am sure there is something relevant to James Joyce, and obviously a Joyce Centre (for want of a better word).
Try the Tourism Board online and discover a heck of a lot more in addition to retail therapy!
Hope all the accompanying wives/partners/girlfriends enjoy their visit.
