Just looking at the pokernews updates and it seems that the photographer seems to have a thing for dodgy old geezers....

From the official WSOP page early on yesterday:
6/14/2013 12:39:19 PM PST (about 14 hours and 25 minutes ago)
Some More Names
The Pavilion Room is mostly used for cash games, satellites and Deep Stack Tournaments, today, however, there are only a handful of tables not used by The Senior"s Championship as we have shattered last year"s attendance record. There are currently 4,369 entrants and registration is open for another two hours. Here are some more players we found as we walked through the massive Pavilion Room.
Brendan Byrne 3,000
Men Nguyen 3,000
Mimi Tran 3,000
Dennis Phillips 3,000
Pleased to see Men, Mimi and Dennis have some good company.

Again, cut from WSOP page. I lol"ed at this:
Let the Bubble Bubble Begin
With just 640 runners left holding chip stacks at the moment, and payouts beginning at 441st place, the Seniors Championship is actually miles away from reaching the money bubble, but that fact hasn"t stopped several hundred seniors from starting the sweat.
To the untrained eye, it would appear that the television screens displaying a running count of total players, along with the full prizepool information, have been switched to a rerun of Matlock. Every minute or so a new player wanders over to the screen, anxiously staring upward while scanning to see how close they are to that coveted WSOP cash. For the largely amateur field here on Day 1, this is likely the longest many have lasted in a Texas Hold'em tournament, and that inexperience has been evident by these repeated trips to check the monitors.
We expect play to slow down considerably as the surviving seniors try to fold their way to the money, even though we are a couple hundred bustouts from the bubble actually being reached. In this Seniors Championship, which stands in as the Main Event for several thousand amateurs every year, the pre-bubble bubble has become a tradition of sorts, and with so many players on the verge of accomplishing a lifelong dream, we can certainly understand why.
Hopefully will help Brendan, one of the fearless younger seniors.

Brendan has 34,000 chips going into Day 2. Not the 2300 reported at WSOP.com updates
Blinds at level 12 are 200/600/1200
If there are 491 players left as Brendan suggests then I calculate avg stack to be 26,926
If there are 640 like WSOP.com suggests (I doubt it) then avg is 20,658

I reckon Brendan will have a deep run here if he runs normal. Don"t think he will be hanging on to get in the money. Mind you even if he min cashes he will have one hell of an ROI.
I reckon he trying to one up Leigh after his ISPT run :-)

Hand for Hand and our young senior is exploiting the bubble to the max.

chip count from the man himself = 42,000

A little late getting to this thread, lol Eck ;D
Thanks so much for the support, delighted to have played it, thrilled to cash yet strangely disappointed to not go deeper.
To all you 50 somethings out there and those soon to be, get this event on your bucket list, it"s an absolute must for a poker player, a real treat.
