It seems my rungood from last season has continued.. Have been asked to take over the England Captains job from Steve for a couple of events this season :o
Excited is an under statement, but honored i surely am!.
Being part of the recent successful World champion squad, i know the pressure Steve must of felt in selecting his team.
I am looking for firstly a vice captain, the vice captain will be responsible to select a squad.. (England B) to compete at the home internationals DTD end of August.. If you are interested in this position please could you send me a PM by Sunday evening, although the event is still over a month away i feel it best to be able to communicate together A.S.AP regarding choices, then gives a couple of weeks to pick squads.
I need two squads to pick myself, a team of 4 at the home internationals, and a team of 4 at the ECOAP. I am open to applicants for BOTH now (please state in PM if you would like to be considered for 1 or both), the deadline for applicants for the home internationals will be on Saturday 27th July and will announce my squad soon after. Will be taking applicants for ECOAP until the forseable future and will make a deadline announcement closer to the time, being abroad i understand the planning involved with travel, accommodation, and finances so until we have more info on the event i do not need 100% commitment just yet, but when the deadline closes needless to say 100% commitment will be a must.
Although the final details have yet to be announced, i would probably be correct in saying PLO will play apart in the format, so will be looking for a team that has a good knowledge in this field aswell as NLH, a factor which im sure helped team England win gold at WCOAP.
So please make my job as hard as possible and get your applications in, and remember that if you dont manage to get a pick in one team doesnt mean to say you wont get a pick in the other ;)

Yea carl is in a spot with only places in the "A" team, with 5 of you current World Champs.....suppose there are worse probs to have :)

Does this mean that you will now be needing to get yer arse to Cardiff all in the name of "Captain"s moral duty"? Obviously bringing the fair Maiden and organiser of "CTS" Side event :-*

SIGH!! for the first time in my life actually being badgered about going to a APAT event by Emma!!.. I would love to make Cardiff not for me but for Emma, just a bugger the timings are all wrong, basically used up all my pleas to the folks for dates to look after kids, wish I had of skipped Coventry and booked Cardiff :( .. What with finances being tight aswell with soo much going on before Xmas it would of been a struggle any way.. Not looking forward to the FB updates from you lot when Cardiff hits poor Emma is gonna be sad :(

Deadline was set for Saturday 27th to apply.. Have had no more applicants for the last 2 days.. so if i dont receive any over the weekend i will get together with Stuart and select teams next week.. and bring announcement forward.. So still time to apply folks!!

Carl to ensure fair game to those that maybe wishing to finalise a few things with the knowledge that have until the 27th, with it a possibility that they wouldn"t read as far as the above post..maybe an idea to change the subject with the proposed new deadline??

I was hoping all those yearning to play for England would of applied by now.. From the applicants so far ( enough to fill 5-6 teams) i have had some amazing response and im sure everyone is itching to know Stuarts and my squads as soon as we decide.
Had 4-5 days of steady response and it has now petered out, i was in the impression that a large majority of serious applicants have infact sorted timings out etc.. I have spammed Facebook a couple of times reminding people, and that did draw a couple more in.. Will see how it goes over weekend, and see what Stu reckons.
Will prehaps start new thread as a reminder of new deadline..
