Apologies from the Travel Guru...I was under the misapprehension that I had done a Travel Tips thread.

I"m busy crushing the UKCOAP ME at the moment but I will try and put something up Monday (or Tuesday) hopefully.

In the meantime, here"s quick Google Map with some hotels nearby.

I"ve been looking at what information I do have and it may be a bit late for a full Travel Tips post but I"ll see if I have time for something later on.

Here"s a hotel list from APAT partner, LateRooms although you may be able to find bargains / discounts by Booking elsewhere.

LateRooms (http://www.laterooms.com/en/p3623/Hotels.aspx?hidfl=&k=Dublin&d=20130927&n=3&rt-adult=1&rt-child=0&rt=1-0¤cies=GBP#htmovx)

EDIT: I had hoped that the LateRooms linked map would remember the search & distance parameters but apparently not. Please see the GMap lined below to refine the area for the LR search.

Prices are not cheap at the moment but the value of the bunch is the Leeson Inn Downtown (http://www.laterooms.com/en/p3623/hotel-reservations/7333_leeson-inn-downtown-dublin-city-centre.aspx) for around £70 per night (Assuming 3 nights) which is a 10 minute walk from the Fitzwilliam Card Club which is at:

Clifton Hall
Lower Fitzwilliam Street
Dublin 2

Google Map (http://goo.gl/maps/fYs3Y)

Casino is 20 to 25 minutes from the airport by cab.

If you need anything else, please ask.

Myself,I will be arriving at Dublin (Terminal 2) on Friday, 27th September at around 5pm and would be happy to split a taxi to Larry Murphys, I mean Baggot Street.

I"ll be heading back around 11am on Monday for a 13.10 departure.

If players attending could post their flight info I can maintain a list to see what sharing/link-up arrangements could be made.

Paulie, just to let you know that Aircoach operate a luxury coach service to Dublin city centre every 15 minutes from outside T1 & T2. Its a 24 hour service with top professional drivers, leather seats, extra leg room, air con, Wi-Fi.

Prices are 8 euro single or 14 euro return. Kildare Street would be the stop for The Fitz & Larry Murphys Pub. About 5 minutes walk would get you there from Kildare Street. Link is http://www.aircoach.ie/aircoach.fares.php. You can buy tickets online or from ticket staff outside T1 or T2  24/7. If enough people go for this I may be able to get a better ticket deal from Aircoach. Put you names down on this thread and I will organise the rest.

Walking distance from Aircoach stop Kildare St to Baggot St is 600mts or 8 minutes.  Link  http://goo.gl/maps/IDhur

Looks like I may own this company but I don"t. Just work for them.

If you can hang for 30 mins at the airport we can chop a taxi....a few euro more each but better than walking what I estimate to be 10 mins.

Hmmm...I"ll get me Guru hat on again to research acceptable alternatives just in case they do run out.

Do we know WHY they are closing?

Dare we hope it"s temporary?

Didn"t ask why, but it"s definitely permanent.  A regular there posted last night and she was pretty gutted about it.

Closest drink to the Fitz looks as though it will now be McGrattans..

260 yards (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=201889264716224768913.0004dfa770f4d680641eb&msa=0&dg=feature)....seems far!  ;D
