Some great table draws there, all the best to everyone I know, especially Tom Clark 8)
-
Couple of early bits of action :
Elimination :
Stephen Hetherington first "man down" - unfortunately i didnt catch the exit hand.
Hand Action :
T27 - John Woodbridge raises from early position to 125 - he picks up three callers - flop comes 668 - one check to "Woody" who c-bets 325 - all fold and Woody takes control of the table early on.
T46 - a pot develops between Michael Perry and Mark Percival - when the turn comes down the board shows J293 - Mark checks to Michael who fires 750 - called by Mark - pot now well over 2k - the river brings another deuce - Mark again checks, Michael again fires 750 Mark again calls. Michael shows JT - enough for Mark who mucks, looking marginally disgusted.

certainly are a few doozies in there - it will be interesting to see how the guys who played the 6 Max yesterday fare - especially the likes of Darren Shallis and Stuart Oliver who went deep and endured what was the biggest grind of a tournament since Cliff Thorburn graced the green baize in the early 80s.....the Cash Tour players also and the Team Event players - who again have had long days and nights in what were emotionally draining (and alcohol draining!) games also.
Endurance and stamina certainly could be a feature today....do all horses run best fresh?
I do think that DTD"s supply of Red Bull could be in question today!
Any predictions from you guys out there?
Any one youd like an update or feature on?
Pics?
Tournament about to go into L2 - 181 now entered

Question for discussion - views/comments welcome :
Dealer dealing hole cards (as he does!) accidently flips a card - and immediately retracts the card, saying its the first burn.
If the player to whom it was dealt says "thats my card, i want it - i dont care if all the table knows i have it" should he be allowed to keep it and play continue?
Should the player be allowed the option of keeping that card - on the basis it was his but dealer error has caused them not to get it?
-
Tom Clark
Vaino Tiik
Marcin Remjak
-
Arnold Baggott, who bubbled the 6-Max yesterday, doesnt have to have that agony today as he exits 2nd player down.
-
Tom Clark
Vaino Tiik
Marcin Remjak
no worries, will bring you updates on them shortly :)

Just my predictions ;)

Graham Chandler exits the event as third player down.
-
Ian Szerlowski
Marcin Rejmak
Mike Scothern
They will be the top 3!

Hand Action :
Table 32 : A pot of around 7k has built betweem Adam Smith and Colin McCarthy - Adams river bet is called by Colin - who then wishes he hadnt as Adam tables 44 on a board of 3954Q and scoops the pot.
Adam Smith
Table 46 :
Dan Dennehy raises from EP to 225 - called in seat 9 by Vasos Michel - but raised in seat 1 by Ian Gascoigne to 1k.
Dan mucks but Vasos calls - to the apparent chagrin of Ian who bellows "cant get rid of you can i".....the flop comes KQ7 to which both check...the turn brings a Jack....Vasos checks, Ian bets 1900....Vasos reluctantly folds.
Ian tables KK....

Vasos Michel
-
Andrew Bailess down
-
Joe Smith also gone
-
Tournament goes into L3 - 16k av stack now.
-
Hand Action :
Table 38 -
Nicholas Flanagan and Glenn Barratt tangle - Nicholas fires 1k at the flop after Glenn checks, which is showing 46Q, but Glenn immediately re-pops to 2k - Nicholas looks bemused but calls nonetheless.
Turn brings a 5 - Glenn fires 2200 - Nicholas looks even more bemused but this time finds a fold, and Glenn takes the pot down.
Glenn Barratt
Over to Table 11, and Carl Pilgrim raises from mid position to 500 - folded round to the BB of Jonathan Gill who defends.
They both check the flop of 754 - Jonathan then checks when an Ace develops on the turn - Carl bets 600 - Jonathan folds and nods as Carl flashes his Ace to take the pot.

Short answer is no. It can create an unfair advantage. You can"t show cards at any point in the hand and this situation shouldn"t be treated any differently.

Im not saying youre wrong - i just think this is an interesting case - but how - if the whole table knows what the card is - can it create an "unfair" advantage - bearing in mind the player who is denied the card should also not be advantaged or disadvantaged as much as any other player - and he has done nothing wrong himself.

No cards should be seen until showdown. He"s not being penalised as such. He"s being "protected". Knowing what one player has (or half of what they have) can be an "unfair" advantage to the others in the hand.

A number of reasons, but the most obvious being that he would reject all deuces and keep all aces. All kinds of angles could be created on both sides by allowing an option.
-
hes being penalised by not being given the card he was due to have through no fault of his own - which could be a premium or strong starting hand.
should the player not be given the option?
i do like playing devils advocate! ;D

Lookalikes Update
Apparently Dann Williams was once told he looked like Gerard Butler.
Thats what he says anyway!
A guy at his table has likened him to F1 Racing Driver Kimi Raikonnen.
Cant see it myself....can you??

Apparently Dann Williams was once told he looked like Gerard Butler.
Thats what he says anyway!
A guy at his table has likened him to F1 Racing Driver Kimi Raikonnen.
Cant see it myself....can you??

Well i will at least, tomorrow, be able to go through a new APAT experience.
Declaring a player NOT named Warren Jones the Champion!!!
Yes, the man, the monster, the machine is mortal after all, as he trudged disconsolately towards our desk, bemoaning his play...."i knew he had trips" he exclaims...
So it wont be a Hat Trick of Golds for Warren...not on the bounce anyway!

Table 36 ;
About 3k in the middle as a hand develops between Naz Wrigley and Ross Patman - the flop has come down AJ3 and Naz shoves all in for about 12k - after Ross has lead out for 2.5k.
Ross debates making the call, with Naz declaring he was happy whether Ross folds or calls......Ross does make the call and tables A6.....but in bad shape against Naz"s 33. 9 on the turn, 6 on the river and Naz doubles through Ross.

Vasos Michel has been causing a stir with his play since moving to Table 12.....after paying off the Tricky Trippster with bottom pair, he calls an almighty all in shove from Daks Davis on a 97Q board - Daks tabling 99.....Vasos showing 78. Turn 8, river 7 and Vasos bangs the table in delight, thinking the runner runner would be good to see off Daks.....until reality sets in and he realises what Daks now holds....
Some of the bigger names (arguably!) are starting to make their moves and progress in the event....Darren Shallis seems to have no hangover from the 6Max last night and is sat nicely on 65k.....Tony Clifton has 74k.....Dwayne Stacey not far behind on 66k, with Tony Trippier up to 60k and Carl Pilgrim around 50k.
Currently 20 mins left of L10 (500/1000/100) - we have 71 left remaining and current average stack is shrapnel under 40k

Keep going Tony you can do it

Hi Roller event over.....was a very tense three handed battle - especially when the medals were brought out on display to show.
Three local players fought out for the title - and eventually it was Keith Littlewood who prevailed, beating off the challenge of Tim Blake, with Mick Wood in third.
All three highly enjoyed the event and really were delighted with their medals!
