Title: JM 3rd September hand 4 - right to shove pre with KJs against short stacks ?
Post by: Charlie44 on September 06, 2013, 01:23:11 AM
Raisers stats 25/19/1 albeit on just 16 hands. Nothing on LP. Bearing in mind playing for effective stack of $2.90 and already 75c in pot Do I get enough folds here and /or good equity against calling hands to make this play ev+ ? If not do I fold or call ?

PokerStars - $0.10 NL ZOOM - Holdem - 9 players

BTN: $23.16
SB: $5.07
Hero (BB): $17.72
UTG: $11.10
UTG+1: $9.82
MP: $5.34
MP+1: $2.90
LP: $1.97
CO: $9.80

SB posts SB $0.05, Hero posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has Jh Kh

fold, fold, fold, MP+1 raises to $0.30, LP calls $0.30, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $17.72 and is all-in,

I don"t mind that whatsoever.

We have a hand that flops nicely, and the flatter is never going to call off here in my experience, so you just need to get through initial raiser, who raised when he was folded to. You are up against any old rubbish from mp+1 and a middle to low pocket pair from LP, which if he foes call you are flipping against.

Shove is fine.

This seems fine. Don"t mind flicking in the 20c for a call either.
