The Festival of Pub Poker has now been confirmed for the weekend of Fri 21st Mar to Sun 23rd Mar 2014 at Pontins, Southport.
Full details are available on the LPPL website HERE (http://livepubpokerleague.com/forum?fc=175) and the weekend is open to all APAT and LPPL Members who have played a live event since March 2012 (please note the LPPL Forum has some "restricted to members" topics, and to view all information you should join LPPL as a member and then log in - this includes the online shop being restricted to logged in members only).

Just clicked on the link.... Think the room rates are a bit steep for Southport... :D

All booked, brace yourselves I"m off to Southport. ;D

God bloody help us!

Tom, any idea of finishing times on each day please? Debating whether I can train it home each day as I only live nearby.
-
Is the accommodation limited to poker players for the festival or is it ok to be booked for people who would like to support (or drink) during the event..
Do non-poker players have to purchase a wristband if they just want to spectate..?
It"s just that if I plan on staying in a chalet, rather than driving home each day then a few people are likely to want to come for the social side of it...

Bill, to ensure we remain legal then we can only admit to the playing area those with Wristbands who have played at least 1 live event with LPPL or APAT in the previous 2 years - all part of our "agreement" and need and desire to be "above board" - so it is "genuine" members only.
Now, where is your nearest LPPL venue...
-
Looks like I"ll be driving each day on my own then...
-
Tom.
For someone who hasn"t been to a "holiday camp" since the late 60"s perhaps you could clue me in a bit.
I will, hopefully, be coming but I"m not entirely keen on staying at the venue. There are some budget options only a few minutes away that might suit me, personally, better.
Assuming I went that route, I can still access the venue (with car) as long as I have the LPPL wristband on each day...right?
Are there any other restrictions that I should be aware of?

You have played a live APAT in the last year or two Bill ?

No that"s all you need Paulie - inevitably we end up with a few "problems" with people getting entry to the site as they charge "day fees" to locals etc, but from the list of those who obtain a wristband I personally touch base with the security staff over the weekend and leave them my mobile number and tell them exactly where I"ll be (at the bar!) and historically we"ve always managed to get things sorted - may just take a few minutes to sort on entry - but usually not (my dropping them off a box of biscuits to dunk in their tea over the cold weekend usually does the trick!)
-
Events tend to go on to about 1200 midnight on Fri and Sat, with the bar staying open until 0200 (the bar is in the same room as the events). The Sunday 2-player mini-team event goes on to about 0300 - with the bar staying open until we finish.

+1...

Stu,
Could be a great weekend for the craic.
For myself I am inclined AWAY from the chalet experience (based on some reading) but there is a Travelodge a few minutes away that"s c. £32 a night (pre-paid).
I expect to pull the trigger after the holidays.

That sounds like a plan to me :) I will review finances after new year and see how I stand.

It does not sound like a plan at all Stu.
It is a plan and a mighty fine one too. Where do I sign up?

I might have to join you all - debating whether to stay in the Travelodge or at home.

If you can stand the racket, Ger might have space in"t chalet.
