Suzanne on 1.4m, which is the average going in to the 30k/60k level.

40 players left. £23,500 for 1st!

Some very good added value too:

10 x £1100 seats in something.

Make the final table and have a Golden Chip = £2000 VIP Package to UKIPT @ DTD (with a cool £1m gtee!).

The result position wise was very good for both of them but surely something needs to be looked at for the payouts. I finished in 213th and got £150. Rich and Suzanne finished 170 & 190 places above me and only got £250/£300 each.
I know it is a top heavy tournament but with the added packages for the final table couldn"t the prizes down to 50th place be a bit more respectful..

Agree totally, after playing day 1, then driving all the way back to Nottingham to find 318 players, they announced that 260 would get paid. I believe this was 12% of the total 2000+ players.
Finally finished in 55 place with a payout of £225 which just about covered my exes.
There were players on Friday that paid the £50 +10 to enter, re-entered then played in the next flight in the evening, and then tried on the Saturday. Totally crazy as the needed to reach the final 2 tables to cover exes.
DTD is without question the best cadroom in the UK, but next time I will give it a one shot online to save all the travelling and cost

Thanks for the rail guys, much appreciated. It was a fantastic trip :)

Have to agree with the comments made though. Expenses for me were around £200 with train/last minute hotel etc so goal number 1 was to try and cover costs. Coming 26th I cashed for £300 but the reality is with the stack I had going into day 2 I would have been financially better off if I hadnt turned up and blinded away, in fact there was quite a few that did this. I decided to do the trip in the end for the experience and a shot at some major cash and I gave it my best.

Fortunately I cashed in the 25XL too which made it a bit more profitable  ;D

Rob was asked about this payout post event

Amongst the comments he made were that

- "We paid 260 out of 2600. 50% players have won in for 55p or 5.50, so the min cash is lot to them"

In his blog he says that

"the average player had 1.7 attempts, so 1530 unique players took part. It's important to keep a track on the number of re-entries in relation to the number of flights, because the idea of giving plenty of online and live opportunities is not to boost the prizepool by increasing the average spend per head, but to increase the options for players to get involved. Of course, some Grand Prix fans played as many flights as they could, but in reality, must took a shot with just 1 bullet won through our 55p and £5 online feeder structure, which qualified over 50% of the total entries."

In essence its a grass roots poker event, paying 10% of the field and the min cash is a huge return for a fair proportion of the field emanating from those qualifying for very little"

Nice to see you again Suzanne/Richard

For those living nearby, then yes. For others who have to pay say £70 petrol and £30-40 B&B, not so much

As he says "for a fair proportion of the field".

What would we like? pay 5% of the field? take £10k off the top and distribute it to the min cashers?

Thought the payout was ok given the scale of the event

I agree, it is what it is. Those that live nearby-ish and min-cashed were probably very happy, those who live further away that I have heard from both here and elsewhere will think twice about playing again.

I drove down from Liverpool on Saturday morning with the Mrs. Paid for two nights B&B and roughly £50 petrol. We killed two birds with one stone, we have friends in Nottingham who we went to see. The few times we see them each year does not always involve DTD for me so this was sort of money saved as it was not two trips. Also, a min cash of £150 helped.
The post I started was not for the min cashes to be higher but for the cashes upto 50th place to be higher. I don"t think that many people would of really been bothered if the payouts started at 200th place or even 175th.
This was my first ever cash, so obviously I"m a bit happy, but it was still a little disheartening to know that if I played for maybe another two or three hours I could of earned myself an extra £25..
I can understand where DTD are coming from with comparing the prize to the entry and making the 12% of the total unique entries. It would be interesting to know how many never turned up for the Sunday after qualifying online.
Lesson learnt now anyway, if I get a chip to the final again I"ll just come down on the Sunday.

Think you could cap 1st at 15k and add more to the flatter lower few, but again only pay 10%.

Either way, people are gonna moan!

Didnt mean it to sound like a moan, it really wasnt, I was just saying how it was for me but then I knew that before I entered. I had a great time and will deffo do it again. Just wish I lived nearer but probably just as well I dont as I would never be out the place.
