So can anyone go to this event, or do you have to qualify ?
How many runners, is it capped ?
thanks
-
There will be online qualifiers and a direct buy in. It will be capped at 200 runners.
-
Would you be kind enough to explain the buy-in procedure...
I would like to play in this tournament, so would you let me know when and where the seats will be avialable...
Thank you very much in advance for your help and patience !!!
-
when you say direct buy-in.is that with APAT or the casino direct?
-
The seats will be sold directly from the APAT website around a month before the event. We may bring the published date forward for the side events. More details will be available for this festival following the Irish Championship next weekend.
-
Will there be the usual regional qualifiers (none held in ireland) for this event ???
-
There are no live satellites currently planned for this event.
-
;DGood ;D
-
hi there.i would like to play the world amateurs.can i buy in now?
-
hi there.i would like to play the world amateurs.can i buy in now?
Unfortunately not. The process will be a number of online qualifiers first and then remaining tickets will be sold via the homepage on this website.
Keep your eye on the forum for confirmation of dates.
-
Any idea of when public sale for this will be? After having such a good time at the Scottish & Irish finals I"m really hoping to go to this. I"ve got so many things coming up so I"d love to have a bit of prior warning.
-
Just found this thread.... hard work finding stuff on here lol. Have looked on blue square, is there a password or anything required?
If unsuccessful in the sats. How do I go about paying the direct buy-in, on here?
-
Last qualifier is tomorrow night. The online sale is on the 25th. Best of luck!
Rabsie
-
Does anyone know how likely it is that tickets for the Hold em will be available to buy direct when they go on sale??? Ive a bad feeling the online sats will snap them all up....

The two qualifiers that have already happened offered 7 and 6 seats for the main event. With 200 seats available in total, I guess that should leave quite a few available for the clickfest.
Leigh
-
If previous National events are anything to go by, there"ll be seats available for the clickfest, at least 50%.
There were online satelites AND Regional qualifiers for 5 of the National events this season, and we always had seats over that were snapped up via the clickfest.
I don"t think you need to worry too much.
-
Hmm, looking at Leighs reply and mine, I prefer Leighs ;D

the system they use is BS, tried about 10 times on my card, "error with system" then they told me I had used my card too many times!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ended up using my g/f card which worked 3rd time. Do you know when they tell you if you were accepted?
-
I guess it is a case of wait and See!!!
Good luck to all the Clickfesters!!!

It didn"t go through that I can see Alan. We still have around 25 seats left and I will hold off from sending an email out about them until tomorrow evening - if they don"t sell out prior. If there is a problem on the payment provider side, they normally fix extremely quickly. I am not aware of any specific issues, although a slightly higher than normal number of transactions do appear to have failed this evening.
-
I had one message saying "Authorisation process failed - if this continues please contact your CSR". Then I got a message saying "Payment cancelled", and on the same screen, when I click return, I get "We have received and are processing your submission, Please Wait"
WTF? lol
I attempted to buy a seat (using Maestro) under the name Dan Barnes, I would expect it"s failed :(
The card details were fine, but it was the authorisation part, where you type in a password, that never popped up - have used this many times before and never had a problem.
EDIT: Have used my mum"s card! Thanks mum, it seems to have gone through, but hopefully in time.
-
ive tried twice first time failed second time said my card had already been used am i in
John Williams
-
I noticed when I registered for the Stud event that it wouldn"t accept my details if I put spaces in between card number, phone number and post-code.
Maybe should have mentioned this earlier.
Just out of interest, why have we had different payment methods for these four events? Bit complicated.
-
ive tried twice first time failed second time said my card had already been used am i in
John Williams
probablllllllllllyyyyyyyyy
-
I have also tried to do this and after 2/3 attempts it says I cannot use my card now and must use a different paymet method... no other cards, is there anything I can do? It"s for tots to play.
-
Seats have been allocated for Dan Barnes and John Williams.
-
Keep trying i"ve got a payment through after 3 goes see if i get a seat now.
-
Seat allocated Alan.

Correct. This will be the first Razz event in the UK that I"m aware of and the Vic have been very efficient in their preparation for the event. Pages of questions have been asked and answered (mostly on our behalf by resident expert JonMW) and they are taking the side events very seriously. But it will be a first for those dealers in a live environment.

I assume they know that they are going to need some "5" chips for the antes in the 1st few rounds?

The seats are still on sale, so if you have had a successful transaction, then you are in.
-
At what point will a full list be issued for each event? I have confirmations for two events, but would feel more at ease (and I think a lot of other people would to) seeing a participant"s list.
Thanks.
-
Is there any indication of how many places there are left for the Hold "Em main event. I just registered so hopefully I get a seat but have friends who are looking to enter too and I"m just wondering how long before they"re all gone? Is it the case that the link on the front page will be taken down when they"re all gone?
-
That"s right.

NEWFLASH
Value has been added to the 2 dayer -- Duke has cleared his previous engangement and is now registered.. bring it on

Do we just turn up? Or do we get tickets in the post or what?

And are they still on sale.
-
All events start at 2.30pm
-
after all the drama of the site being down over the weekend!! its good to see it back up!!
When will the full list of entries be put up?
are there any seats for the main event still available (the missus fancy"s a shot)???
-
Do we just turn up? Or do we get tickets in the post or what?
Everybody"s name and user name will be down on a list so you can just show up.
If the link for seats is still up on the front page then there are still seats available.

Seats may have sold out, that will be assessed later this evening. However, no money has been taken as applications for seats have been pre-authorised. If seats are sold out, they will be allocated in strict order of purchase. So everyone who had purchased a seat in any of the events up to the website going down is guaranteed one.
-
Sorry, not sure what that means
I purchased a seat earlier today - is it not confirmed yet?
-
Sorry, not sure what that means

No, your application has been pre-authorised and the seat will be allocated if we had not sold out by the point you applied. You will find out for certain later this evening. This is per the terms and conditions of entry to each APAT event.

good to see the site back up!!!
Is the dead money kinboshi in?
-
i"ve got a pre-authorisation notice, but have I got a seat?
Antony Yousefian is the name
-
We are just going through the lists now Antony and hope to publish the final player list for the main event this evening. It has definitely sold out.
-
Not trying to rush you at all, but any idea what time the final list will be up please?
I"m dying to know if i have somehow snuck in, however i think its doubtful given the lateness of my entry. I"ve tried so many times since friday evening but haven"t been able to get on the site until this morning. :(
-
it"s already there...... http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=1749.0

Yeah thanks just saw that. I didn"t make it! Just have to hope i can get one on the exchange i suppose.

-
When did the last seat sell?
12.35pm today.

For Des:
hi Des on the player list you have me down as Richard Hodgkins which was the name on the card rather than the player name of Duncan Hodgkins which everyone bart he VAT man knows me as :D.
Can this be altered accordingly

-
Happy times, I got a seat.
So erm what"s the deal, do we just show up on the day with some form of ID to prove who we are and then play (on that note I assume UK Driving Licence is acceptable?), or do we like get a ticket beforehand?
Also does the Vic have a strict dress code at all.. I"ve never been there before!
Thanks in advance.

Just head towards the APAT desk to register when you arrive, don"t think you"ll need ID, but maybe wrong. You"ll need a photo ID for getting into the Vic if you"re not already a member of a Grosvenor Casino.
Dress code is black tie - very strictly enforced. Conservative frocks for the ladies - heels and pearls after 9pm only.
-
When did the last seat sell?
12.35pm today.
I guess I missed out by a few minutes :(
So there"s no reserve list? I just have to take my chances on the Seat Exchange?
-
What is the added value for the Main Event winner?
-
Expenses paid GUKPT Grand Final package.
We should be able to confirm PLO starting stack later today or tomorrow. This event and the Razz are nearly sold out. Stud has around 20 seats free but we have not promoted any of these events yet, so they should all sell out.

do we get extra chips for buying in before you had to resort to additional promotion? 8) 8)

Dress Code
It's not all Tuxedos and evening dresses! The dress code in grovesnor casinos is shabby casual, so you can relax, and come along in your pants! However we kindly ask that gentlemen wear socks and refrain from ironing their ripped jeans, football shirts or soiled clothing. T shirts are acceptable but we do ask that round neck T shirts are printed with an offensive slogan. ;) ;)

That"ll be handy then! Wait until it is sold out... then decide how many chips you are going to start with... that way anyone who would prfer to know the structure before buying-in doesn"t have the chance!! ::)

Or, maybe Tursday or Friday???
C"mon Des make a decision.

This is not with me at the moment Mr Rodent but I would hope that APAT has done enough in the last 24 months to earn a bit of trust from our players. You guys will get the best deal possible. So relax a bit......

I"ve only played in one previous APAT tournament (Forum challenge) - but from what I could tell by that and others I"ve read about, APAT always strive to give the best structure possible, and I"m sure they will this time too so I"m not overly concerned.
Perhaps though, APAT should learn a lesson from this and for future events make sure that the full structure is decided upon before the tickets go on sale, it"s only fair that people know what they"re buying.
-
... it"s only fair that people know what they"re buying.
They do know what they"re buying - it"s a tournament with 3000 starting chips. If they don"t like that they don"t have to buy a ticket.
If they don"t mind that then they can buy a ticket, and if the starting stack increases then they"ve got even better than what they"ve paid for.

In fairness Jon, nothing was said about 3k starting stacks until after I bought by ticket.

Apart those people who bought in the knowledge that it was 3k chips and are perfectly happy with a fast, "find a pretty hand and go with it" type of structure, they may not be so pleased with a deeper stack event.
I don"t know how many seats are left, it may be only one or two, but you can be pretty certain that if announcement is made that it will start with 10k chips it will sell out very quickly.

They are non ranking one day events where players are scheduled to have 3,000 chips on a 30 minute clock. Until later this evening when the Omaha goes on sale, we really don"t know whether their will be any demand to play in the side events, so this year will be a bit of a learning experience.
-
Shouldn"t all this go in the Omaha thread maybe?
-

Des,
It is not a matter of trust, I"m sure you (APAT) will make the starting stack as large as you think you can get away with.
The point is you are selling seats for an event (maybe 3 events) where the starting chips may not be as advertised... and certainly in the case of the Omaha, way too low to be conducive with an event that is advertised as "The World Championship of Amatuer Poker".
This seems to me to be at odds with what APAT is all about... Well structured, Deepstack Tournaments.
My frustration is purely borne from the fact that I really want to play this tournament but, due the travel/accomodation costs involved, I can"t justify entering if, in my opinion, the structure isn"t adequate to allow enough play.
Regards,
Alan

OK, there was a mention of it 2 hours before I bought my ticket deep in the thread.
I"m not criticising APAT at all, I"m sure it"ll be a fantastic tournament, I"m just suggesting that they"ll avoid this whole issue if future tournaments have their structure decided and advertised well before tickets go on sale.

Hi,
I got a seat to this and am listed in the players list. However, as soon as I bought the seat I got the confirmation and £75 was debited from my account. It has now however been credited back to my account. What does this mean? Is my seat not guaranteed after all or is it just a delay? I have double and triple checked and am definitely on the players list, and definitely got my seat while there were still seats left.
Sorry to be a bit paranoid, but its been a week now so I"m a little concerned about this.
-
hi hun,
Firstly, you are definetely on the player list, your seat is secure.
Metacharge do a pre-authorisation to determine the funds are available in your account, and just before the event they wll take the payment from your account to finalise the payment.
Please do not worry, and if the payment is not removed from your account by the day before the main event, please can you contact customer@apat.com to let them know and they can advise.
Hope that helps.

Is every transaction like this?
This seems a bit silly. If people had the money in the account on the day they regged sure take the money then. Ppl may now presume they"ve paid then spend the rest of the money in their account and have no clue your going to try and take the money later on - on a date unknown, causing a lot of issues.
If this is just a one off with this persons transaction fair enough, but if this is across the board it is ridiculous.
-
I am sure Des will answer any queries with regard to this much better than I and give you a fuller picture.
-
This is the way it works. APAT is not allowed to take the money weeks before the event actually occurs for various reasons. However, we can only pre-authorise a payment for a week. That said, this is the process that has run throughout season two and we have not had problems to date.

SO what happens when you try and take the money and there is nothing there?
-
Obviously I"m not wanting to sound harsh here, but why would the money not be there ? Surely a poker player who practices good bankroll management would also practice good bank account management ?
-
Is BlueSQ running a book on this event like it did for Blackpool?

I think that will happen once the player list settles down a bit. There are some transfers going through at the moment and I will be updating the list later this evening.

Seriously, I would have presumed it had already gone out my account. I have no DD"s or anything on this account so all money is spendable.

Excellent. So they"ll be running these books for all the nationals? Definitely a good idea.

Is this any closer to happening? I have money to be squandered on some names I know ;)

-
Start times for all the events, on each of the days of play, will be 2:30pm.
-
As I"ve mentioned a couple of times Scott, we"ll be confirming details of the DTD events, including timings - hopefully when we get back from Walsall. The events are in late August, so I wouldn"t be worrying too much about them yet.
-
well ticket sales go on sale thrs so was hoping for bit more info b4 then,i know its not till august but it would be good to know b4 i buy ticket bit more info etc if its 3 days and starts around 2.30 each day gonna be alot of players to make it last the 3 days

Seat sales will also be part of the information posted. Given the timelines we are very unlikely to run sats and put this on sale next week. We"ll delay it by a week to ensure the picture is clear for everyone.
-
if delayed and click fest not on thrs the 12th could you confirm that day b4 the 12th as i was cancelling an arangement so icould be sat ready for click fest on 12th
-
I"m sure Des will update this thread as soon as he has information to give.
As you can appreciate, the UK Amateur Championship begins today and so Des will be solely concentrating on this event at the moment.
Please show a little patience.
-
It says on the "tour" page that there are satellites to the DTD event scheduled for today, tomorrow and Wednesday the 9th,10th and 11th of Feb. but I can see no satellite listed on Blue Square in the APAT section.
Have they been rescheduled or was "February" a typo ?
-
.......Given the timelines we are very unlikely to run sats and put this on sale next week. We"ll delay it by a week to ensure the picture is clear for everyone.
I suspect that they wont be run as advertised.
Des will update as soon as new information is known.
-
So, there are no sats 2nite - is that correct - or is it still "unlikely".
I have spent the last 30 mins searching Blue Sq and the forum only to find nothing more definate than "it is unlikely".
Apat is great and i love it, as the know Des, but an email would have saved all my hair that i have pulled out during the last 30 mins. ;-)
-
Apologies, take it as a definite "no".
-
Thanks for the speedy reply
Regards
Graham
I can catch up on some sleep now after last night

Hi - I"m presuming the clickfest won"t be running this Thursday as planned.. and I can do down the pub instead and have a beer ;D and put up with Stu Ward banging on about cashing at Walsall and me bubbling :-[

-
Linda, the satellites have been postponed to a later date.
News of the rescheduled dates will be published soon.
-
Phew panic over lol - thought I"d read most of the thread but stopped too early...
Thats the problem with reading this at work... work distracts me, must give up lol
thanks

Any news on when the satellites and clickfest will be for the Worlds yet?
Appreciate that this is a mammoth job but wondered if I"d missed a link or thread somewhere else?

The old APAT Line..... "soon"
Love it - At least it gives me a chance to grind out my Entry fees
-
I hope "soon" gives us at least a weeks notice and hopefully even a newsletter to inform us. Pretty please.

This.

Sounds reasonable.
-
We"ll give more than a week"s notice, don"t worry about that. We"re not in a tremendous rush on this event, but details will be posted in the next few days. So you can assume that it will go on sale a week or two after the Cardiff event goes on sale.
-
Have I missed an announcement on this or is it still in the mix and you keeping us guessing/waiting/frothing at the lips again Des?

To manage costs for DTD, the Horse event will now run on the final day of the main event. As this is a Sunday, and the next day is a bank holiday, players who remain in the main event on the final day should have no problem transferring their Horse seat should they not wish to compete in both.
