Last night"s Season 7 Championship event winner, Liam Crawford shoves AK on the button into limped Queens. There is no help on the board, and Liam is the first day 2 exit.
-
Dan Spinks trying to find a spot, but player directly to his right has been picking up Monster after Monster, meaning no pot has been unopened.
The first time he sees paint in an unopened pot, he shoves for 25k, and unfortunately runs straight into Aces to exit.
-
Had a very pleasant day yesterday beside Linda Iwaniak, later joined by Steve Redfern.
Linda"s play was incredible; a poker masterclass. Heads-up v Richard would be nice.
-
Jeldon Fernandez is spotted walking out of the card room, and tells of his exit.
Opponent Raises, Jeldon calls with Kc 10c.
The flop is a promising 2s 6c 9c
His opponent makes an 11k bet. Jeldon repops it to 39k. To which his opponent shoves all-in. Jeldon calls for another 50k (his remaining stack).
Opponent: Ac Qc
Turn: 2c
Jeldon is drawing dead by the river and doesn"t see it dealt.
-
Today"s starting table draw is now on first post.

Batman Kapowed!
Dave "Batman" Howard started the day in great shape at just under 200k and was looking to bring the bacon back to Gotham City....just into the level of 3000/6000/500 he clashes with David Robson, who had had the impudence to 3 bet Daves raise to 12k, making it 27k to go.
Batman was having none of it and 4 bet to 65k......but like the Penguin, David would not go away and 5 bet all in. Batman called and tabled pocket Jacks, only for David to table the dreaded Aces.
The board runs out dry for Batman and he is left with pittance to count in his Batcave whilst David Robson takes his stack to over 400k.
-
Andrews the Salt!
Ben Andrews is once again showing his adeptness for No Limit Holdem poker.
Having just lost out to David Bradbury in the Shootout Championship, Andrews is now giving people gas in the Main Event, and has a significant poker chip pyramid in front of him.

Last hand before the break, Paul McGuinness decides he needs 13,000 antes and blinds, so shoves from late position for 70k with 85o. Large stacked small blind makes the call with pocket 99.
Board runs out:
4 T J....
9 ....
9 (!)...
Paul says it"s "nice to go out properly!"...
We are now on a break. When we return blinds will be 4000/8000 with an ante of 1000. 43 runners remain.

Don Roberts loses his stack in 2 hands played in quick succession.
1. Shoves 90k with Aks, called by 88 that holds.
Down to 30k, Don shoves K6s, called by Queens that also holds.
We are now on the bubble.
-
Noooo! It was a pleasure to play with Don yesterday, and to be knocked out by him!
While I"m here, thanks to Des and the team for another excellent weekend! No successful for me, but lots of fun, which is what it"s all about. Good to see all the regulars again. When"s the next event?
Great venue, by the way. Can we go back?
-
Bubble time, so hand-for-hand. The all-in hand is only revealed once all action on other tables has finished, so as not to influence decisions of those on another table. A good way of doing things.
Chris Webber shoves all in with Queens and is called by AQ of Rod Davies.
6h Jd 2d
Js 10s
The Queens hold, and Chris doubles up much to the joy of fellow Gothamite Dann Williams on the rail.
-
Chipcount for Claire please.
-
Chipcount for Claire please.
On my way.

One of the success stories of today is Chris Webber. Returning to just an 11 big blind stack, and on just 1 hour of sleep, he has managed to spin that up to 280k. Nicely ahead of the 180k average.
In the meantime, the bubble has burst. More details to follow, including those of a special bubble prize nicely awarded by Aspers!.
-
Jason Williams has just exited on the bubble.
Facing a raise in the big blind, Jason pushed with pocket Queens, to find his opponent holding pocket Jacks. Unfortunately for Jason, the Jacks flushed on the river, but a positive for the Essex man, was the news that his exit would be compensated with an entry to a WPT National event at Aspers Stratford later this year.
A happy Jason is pictured with Aspers Head of Poker John Scanlon.

-
20 Players remain. Sebastian Kerrien finishes in 21st.
-
Helen Dunlea was all-in and at risk with A-K against Colin Tsang"s Q-Q. The flop put her ahead as it dropped K-J-T, giving Tsang a chance of a straight. True enough, up jumped the ace on the turn to give him Broadway...but was the drama over? Dunlea had the re-draw to another ace or king for the full house.
Could she find it? She stood up..the players leant in for the tension was so great...before the two of clubs hit the river.
Sighs all round, especially for Dunlea, who banks £375 for her troubles.
On one table, Colin is joined by Robert Quinn, Rod Davies, Steven Howell and Nicola Montalbano amongst others, while on the other, Darren Fuller faces off against Daniel Crabbe, Tristan Chaplin, Claire McGregor and Philip Marsh, who is the perennial man who won"t be moved...

After a disappointing start to his WCOAP journey, losing a 220k pot 3 off the money in the 6-max running Ace-King into Aces, and just limping into the cash, Tristan has truly redeemed himself with a fantasic performance in the Main Event.

Top top bloke and team mate. Really well done mate and see you in vegas weeeeeeee
-
Very well done Tristan, and congrats to the other medalists also :)

I"d like to extend a massive thanks to Aspers for their hospitality this week, and their flexibility in being able to run all the different forms of the game we selected for this week.
Special thanks to John Scanlon, and to Adam Crouch who TDed the vast majority of the events, to Ian and the rest of the cardroom staff and managers.
Thank you also to our sponsors Coral, who provided some very generous added value, gave away a metric tonne of hooded sweatshirts, and helped make the whole event possible.
It"s been a memorable WCOAP.

Congrat to the new APAT World Champion Tristan Chaplin and both medalists on 2nd and 3rd., well played!
-
Very well done Tristan, and congrats to the other medalists also :)
Yep well done everyone - was a fun event played in good spirits.
Nice to meet you Claire. I was the guy who never passed a big blind to you all Day 2. Pretty sure I lost out in those battles though!
-
I know he"ll kill me for saying it, but I"d like to say a massive thanks to Mark "The Shark" Rowbottom. Top bloke, and him deciding to stay and cover an extra night than initially booked in for, despite being absolutely shattered himself, made the final day much more manageable.
One more thanks to Leigh Wiltshire, who created the MAX POINTS part of the spreadsheet for the team event. Made that *a lot* easier to relay info to the teams.

Haha not sure about that - was berating myself for a good half hour for not shoving over your lead into the 9 high flop. Put me out of my misery - you had two overs?

Just to add big thanks to you too matt - I know you were struggling on lack of sleep due to a hotel mix up, so kudos to you for remaing your usual cheery self through some very long shifts :)

aww, thanks :) x
p.s. can you tell us what you had in this hand? http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=15370.msg230715#msg230715
At the update table, opinions ranged from the ubernuts to stone cold bluff. No worries, if you"d rather not reveal!...

I remember the hand well :) As I recall, I"d raised in late position and Darren had called from the blinds. He check-called my bets on the flop and turn. By the time the river was dealt I"d invested a lot of chips and the pot was pretty huge. I check behind on the river, I lose the pot, so I had to balls up and fire the third bullet. It wasn"t an insta-fold from Darren either, he took a good minute (at least). Felt like 10 to me as I"d missed the lot.

And now, pride of place on the APAT homepage too :) http://apat.com/
Magazines have been in touch asking for info & photos. I"ll post links to those articles when they go live too.

You could have picked a photo that he smiled for!

Ha, we didn"t choose the pic. That was taken by someone else. Our pic is indeed the smiling one and is the one that has been sent to the mags. I will get the one on the APAT homepage swapped over though.

We need to leave the one on the home page that we"ve chosen. Vertical pix do not work in that particular space.

Fair enough. These have slight blur but the smile makes up for that!
