Title: APAT Online Series -- European Open
Post by: duke3016 on June 21, 2008, 11:00:15 AM
In the time honoured tradition of this esteemed tournament I shall be at the table to lose my chips to some eejit (you know who you are  ;D ) who shall then lose them in turn

See you at the tables

Oh its my 24yr old daughters birthday today and she is having an afternoon party at the house before they move off to the night spots, as usual can"t guarantee my state but hey 30 19-25 year old women and a bouncy castle priceless............

Okay, I"ve just calmed down.

I"m dealt  ad td.  Raise to 4x BB.  One caller.

Flop comes  th 8s :2d:

I bet half pot.  He calls.

Turn brings  8c.

I check, He pushes all in for around 4k and has me covered.

I decide to call (feel free to analyse that if you like, about 2k left)

He shows  ac qh.

Rivers brings  qs.

Absolutely sickening.  Do I run bad at the moment.

Good luck to everyone left in.

I think I can beat that. Just went out 20 mins ago. Blinds 50/100 and its raised mid position to 400, I have  :as: ah and re-raise to 1300 and he calls. We see a flop  6c kd  jh, he bets 1200 I push the rest of my chips in, approx 3000 in total. Cards are turned, he has  5h 6h (bottom pair and no draw, turn card is  ah and of course the river is  7h. :(

Crippled

no complaints top pair versus a flush draw - flush hit.

Might be a bit tricky to get back from less than one big blind

EDIT: didn"t take long - still no online final table for me this year :(

Hello,

Unfortunately I am mobily24  :o I don"t feel I played that hand particularly well but would like to try and explain why I played it that way so I don"t come accross as a complete beginner!  ;D

I think the pre-flop play was pretty standard..... I called the bet on the flop because I didn"t think you"d hit the board. I had seen you play strong starting hands and put you on high cards. I called to see how you"d play the turn. I saw the check as weakness and pushed in thinking you had fold equity.

It was a great call on your part and were extremely unlucky when the Q hit. Unfortunately straight after the hand the table was broken meaning I couldn"t apologise.

I"ve been on the end of some major suckouts before so knew what a bad beat that was and genuinely felt bad.

I hope you suck out on me in the future and get your own back!!  :)

A pot of 340k sees Gimac1 run his KK into aitch48"s AA.  Carnage at the tables.

GiMac1 is out in 3rd after becoming short stakced and pushing with AT against aitch48 with A5 with a 5 already on the flop.

Well Played Gordon, bronze medal for you.

Thanks Jack, I"m on a bit of roll at the moment. Made two final tables in Dublin (unfortunately not the one that really counted) and now these two this week.

Hopefully I will emulate you and take one down soon.

Cheers Guys, this was actually my first APAT tourny and I enjoyed the structure.

Even better my son won a silver medal last year in one of the online games and now I have bragging rights!
