Title: From the ashes.....
Post by: AMRN on July 02, 2008, 23:03:50 PM
...the Phoenix rises!!

Playing the PokerStars Daily Fifty Grand. Had AA in second hand of the tourney, and ran into a mighty 68s, which despite my pot sized bet on the flop, called and went on to catch runner runner flush and leave me destitute with only 135 chips.....

3 hours later, and I am stacked just above average and ITM  ;D ;D ;D

Mighty p****d off now!!

Sitting with 50k chips. blinds 600/1200, ante 125. Folds round to button who min raises. I"m in SB with KQs and flat call.   Flop comes 10 8 4, with two hearts giving me overcards and flush draw. Button bets about 1/5th of the pot..... I have him covered, and decide to shove here.... if he calls, i have outs.... and if he doesn"t have the nuts he can"t call....... but........ he seemed to think it worth putting the last four hours at risk with bottom pair and called all in with A4!!!!!!  I had 15 outs, but missed.

Can"t believe he did that, given that if he had folded, he would still have had just above average stack.

Almost donked out in the second hand, recovered, then finally donked to death.

I know it"s a terrible call but he probably put u on the draw cos u shoved....

In this spot I like to put in a big raise but not a shove to disguise my hand- if he then re shoves I"ll call

On reflection, now that tilt has calmed, i think you are right.  was just a bit hard to swallow at the time, particularly having ground my way back into the tourney from nowhere.

That said though, if you were the person with bottom pair, would call all your chips if you knew your opp had overs and flush draw - 15 outs...?  With two cards to come, I think that makes draw around 64% favourite.............

Not one i would call with but a quick math check and

15 (full) outs is about 55/45

On the other hand a raise to a button limp and you probably win the pot
there and then unless the 2 of you in the blinds are LAG and the
button is sat on a monster or is just complete loose fishy.
