Christoff, IrishTom and myself will be your hosts for the weekend.

We are expecting most of the BWIN players today and we will be following them throughout their tournament. Also a delegation of "Aces Full" will be amongst today's starters.

If you would like an update on someone who is playing today, please let us know and we'll try to catch up with his/her performance!

Anything you want to share, please do! For everyone's convenience we'll be using the English language to give you all the updates from the event. Please feel free to make remarks in Dutch/French as well!

And the cards are in the air!

The tournament started at 14:00 sharp and we will probably be playing 12-13 levels today.

70 players are registered for the moment, but there"s a late registration for 5 levels (around 18:00).

If you feel like playing, come on over!

APAT goes international; in the field today we have a couple of players from France and Italy.
And also lone contenders from Portugal, Israel, Netherlands, Canada, Turkey and Germany!

Tomorrow we"ll surely see a dozen of British APAT players who, right now, are somewhere on the road!

Ruben Da Silva loses some.

Middle player raises pre to 275 and gets 4 callers including Scott Prutti at the button and Ruben Da Silva UTG.

Flop 2c  6s  2h and acttion continues with a 475 c-bet from the initial raiser. Seat 9 completes, Scott folds and Ruben completes as well.

Turn another 6:  6h No action here.

River a 7 -> Small blind checks, Ruben bets 1k and the initial raisers throws his AK away. Seat 9 reraises to 2.6k, SB folds and Ruben calls

Ruben 88, villain 77 for a full house.

Level 3 started already - blinds 75-150 and 73 players registered in the field. 2 more levels of late registration and chipcounts will follow after this level.

Marc Van Den Bossche is still playing 12500 approximately after 2 small blufs gone wrong. Don"t do that buddy ! :D

His friend Bert De Haen got involved in a multiway pot but the c-bet of the preflop 3-better was more than enough on a  Js  2c  3s flop to push 4 opponents out including Bert.

Clash of the ladies on table 5. I join the action on a 9s 8d 8s 4h board with about 3000 chips in the pot.
River completes the flush and both girls check.

Cindy Van Elslande shows QQ but it"s no good against Melissa "Quenofpkr" Vervaeke"s Aces.

On table 4 we see a big pot between Tommy Lievens and Emmanuel Legat.

There"s 5000 chips in the middle after the turn on a  6d 3c 7d 10d board.

The river is the  Kd and Emmanuel bets close to 2.500; Tommy calls.

Emmanuel shows the nuts with  Ad 8d and Tommy mucks

Table 20, with Bart Helsen, holds a few remarkable players. An old skool guy who"s taking notes by hand in a very tine red notebook. And a redneck guy with stickers from like every pokerrroom in the world. We wonder how Bart will hold up against players like these. Foto"s volgen.

Scott Prutti staat nog steeds op average stack met 14,5k, Yves Bormans aan dezelfde tafel met ongeveer 13,5k, Ruben da Silva wat minder.

A very nice three way all-in at table 3

Picked up the action with the BB allin for 2750 and a MP player calling. LP player pushes 5475 in total and the SB folds reluctantly. The MP player calls the remaining 2725 in chips.

BB: KK
MP: ATo
LP: 99

Board runs out: QTJ giving a lot of options to all the players. Followed by the 9 and a 6.

SB (Ruben Tach) tripples up
MP (Pieter Cramer) losses 5.5k
LP (Kevin Pietquin) takes the sidepot and breaks even.

Table 13 just opened up and started with a bit of controversy.

3 players wanted to see the flop and there should have been 1.600 in the pot preflop (3x 500 + SB), but there was only 300.
TD ruled that the game should continue and he would check camera images...

Eventually it turned out that the player who won the hand with a bet postflop, only put in 200 instead of 500...

Scott Prutti is back up to 21.000

On table 13 we see Cindy Van Elslande taking a nice pot. She calls a preflop raise from a player in seat 3.
The original raiser cbets on a Ts 9h Ac flop. Cindy calls.

He slows down on the 6h turn and checkcalls an 1800 bet.

It is"nt Bossie"s (Marc van Den Bossche) day today.

While watching i counted his stack at 5k "ish and I"ve seen him raise UTG to 600 at 100/200 A 25 blinds.
4 !!!! callers where his luck and they all checked at the flop  Ks 4h  9d
The turn brought the  Qs. march checked and everyone folded to a 600 bet.

Bart Ringoet also showed up and is up 100 in chips after 1 level of play. (he entered at level 4)

When coming back to the desk i saw Bart Helsen rake in 1k in chips throwing KT on the table vs K8 on a JTJxx board. Still going steady as we speak.

On table 2 we see Koen De Groote winning a big 22.000 pot.

We didn"t see the action, but with 9h 6h he rivered a flush against his opponents AK.
With 55.000 he (probably) has the chiplead with 15 minutes to go in level 4.

Cindy and Peter are doing just fine and take some chips back

Ladies first :-)
Cindy, on the button can limp in when SB and BB complete and check. 4 players on the flop.
3d 9d Qs Pot: 975
It gets checked to the MP player who makes it 600 to go and Cindy quickly calls while the blinds.

5d on the turn and MP makes it 2k to go and get"s called again by Cindy. The pot is 5175 then. Check by the MP and a fold after Melissa"s bet of 2,4k. She shows the Qc .

The next hand she steals blinds and antes

Peter takes down an uncontested pot. he makes it 550 preflop and only the SB calls. 1500C bet at an 8Q4 flop and the rest of the board (A and T) get"s checked out by both players. Q6 by Peter wins the pot.

Marc Van Den Bossche told me how he lost most of his stack.
He held QQ with the  Qh and Marc bet"s out preflop, 1 caller.
Flop TJ 4h with two hearts. Marc bets and villain calls
Turn 6h Marc bets out once more and villain calls
River makes a 4th heart with 2h and both players check it out (Marc had position)

Villain show 3h 5h for a straight flush versus Marc"s Q high flush. 7k loss for Marc in there.

He also just split a pot with AJs vs AJs. The flop was promissing with 2 of his suits but no continuation afterwards.

Bart Ringoet (at the same table as Mark) had dropped to 9k but then busts a player for his 4.5k stack and he"s almost back up to starting stack: Preflop allin Ah 5h vs Ac Tc. 62T8A board !!!

Yves Dormans is trying to stay alive. He raises allin after a preflop raise for 6050 and gets a fold.

Peter Van Overwalle looses a bluff

Hij makes it 900 preflop and gets one caller. Flop comes  8c 4h 8h and both players check. Turn gives them a Kc and Peter bets out 1500 followed by an instacall.

The river comes for another club (3c), Peter once more bets out. 3k this time and his opponent calls rather fast with a babyflush - 4c 6c. Peter shows Ac Js for a total bluff. costly.

Melissa:  Ac 8c
Christopher: KQ

Turn: A
River: blank.

Scott Prutti splits a pot. We pick it up when the dealer is splitting the chips.

The board reads to a straight 23456, Scott had A2s, Ruben Da Silva pocket 6"s. Scott did have a nut straight draw at the flop though.

And we have just lost our leader in the Player of the Year ranking. Bart Ringoet tells us he puts his chips in the middle with pocket 5"s on a 238 rainbow flop and gets called by AKo. King on the turn ends his tournament on day 1.

And just before table two gets broken up and reseated Yves Bormans get"s busted by Didier De Swert:
Didier: AJs
Yves: A5s

Board runs out AK689 and Yves has to leave the tournament after being short for quite a while.

Right after the reseat Ruben Da Silva lucks out on the river. Being short almost most of the tournament he finds KQ suited preflop and pushes. The player on his immediate left finds AQo and reshoves to isolate.

The flop: 6JJ and no help for Ruben, Turn A and a gutshot for Ruben which arrives to him at the river. He doubles up to ... we"ll let u know.

First hand after the break we lose Marc Van Den Bossche. He has been playing a short stack for quite some time and finally found a hand with ATs... He got called by JT and a J on the turn seals Marc"s faith.

We will see him again on Sunday for the PLO Side Event.

Comeback of the year !!!

At Peter"s table he left an opponent with 200 chips after a misunderstanding about an all-in. It was left to him by the winner (gentlemen"s agreement of some kind) and play continues without any ruling. Almost one level later the 200 chips guy, doubles up, doubled up once more, trippled up and double up once again..... He"s playing 40k now !!!

Chips and a chair people !!!

Christophe Ruytinx has been eliminated. Being short quite a while he put it in but betting continued and he knew already his fate. Knocked out 21st there"s 20 left for today;

5 last handed have started so the main event is almost done after 12 levels of play.

Still in: Kevin Pietquin
Cindy Van Elslande and Geert Sluys.

Chipcounts to follow for all remaining players.

We"re off for tonight... We"ll be back tomorrow with day 1B which promises to be very busy.

All of the Brits will be playing; and apparantly we will even have a player of a country that almost was...

At least 150 players are expected to show up for the Main Event so it promises to be a very busy day.

Good night from Namur and see you tomorrow at 14:00!
