We have a few very interesting matchups during the start of the Main Event:

On table 8 we have 2 contenders for the 2014 Player of the Year.

Yves Bormans is currently in 3rd place and Niki Raskin (who won the BAPC Online Side Event) is in 5th.
Both are very well in contention and will be looking for a good result here.

On table 9 we have a few big APAT names as well:
Tom Deschuytter and Bert Liekens both made deep runs in the Namur Event, Tom finishing 11th and Bert 8th.
Plus from the BAPC Online event we have our Gold (Diederik Dooremont) and Silver Medalist (Bart Helsen)!

These players are in the tournament:
3. Yves Bormans
5. Niki Raskin
8. Ken Vandeplas
11. Stijn Cornelis
14. Bert Liekens
15. Joachim Wallaert
17. Diederik Dooremont
19. Thierry "Sheriff" De Quick
20. Tom Deschuytter
22. Bart Helsen
25. Thomas Manhout

Joachim already went down to 6k when he ran 8"s on a 7 high board into Kings.

"since when don"t they 3-bet kings preflop anymore" he states. Well ... happens.

But he"s back up at 9k again a few hands after thus no worries here.

WVLFreepoker over Johnny Rockets Poker Club

Brigitte raises preflop to 350. Bart Drosaert makes it more expensive and Brigitte calls.

Flop 2c Ac Kd

Brigitte bets out 1100 and Bart makes the call.

Turn Jc

Brigitte checks this time and Bart bets out 2200. Brigitte thinks it over but mucks her hand after a while.

Jan Kusters just busted and will be heading to the cashier to take advantage of a re-entry.

Jan was shortstack when he called a bet on the flop with  Jc Qc on a  6c 9d 10c board, for a straight and flush draw.
The opponent on seat 1 has Kings.

A lot of outs, but no help for Jan and he is left with 925.

In the next hand he loses his last chips, again with a straight draw that doesn"t hit.

Brahim from TRJP takes down a pot.

MP raises to 250
UTG-1 calls 250
Brahim makes it 1350 and gets a call only from the initial raiser.

Flop Td4d7d and both players check.

Tc on the turn makes Brahim bet 1650 and the MP folds.

Re-entry for Stany Sommen. We get to see the flop with 5 players !!!.  7s Ad Jd

SB and BB check. Dirk Vandommele (WVL) bets 1k and all of them make the call including Stany.
Turn 6h and once more Dirk makes the action. Stany is the only remaining opponent since all the rest of them fold.
River Tc and Dirk pushes his remaining 6.5k. Stany doesn"t really like to make the call but makes it anyway.
His two pair A6 isn"t strong enough versus a flopped set of sevens.

We"re helping Stany, who is immobilised with his re-entry and reseating on the other side of the pokerroom.

Peter Schrauwen is out !

Button raises to 700 (blinds  75/150) and Peter in the BB calls.
Flop 2sJhKd and Peter leads out for 2425. The button calls rather quickly.
On a 6s turn Peter takes the risk with the rest of his remaining 6k and the butten makes the call again after a little hestitation.

Peter: Jd8d
Button AK

River doesn"t help him.

Tom Deschuytter just busted. On a KQ high board, he couldn"t let his opponent fold AQ.

He will go for a 2nd attempt.

Both THE RED JACKS POKER TEAM players are doing very well.

Joachim Wallaert was down to 6.000, but is now playing 30k.
In the last hand he calls the bet of an aggressive player with 44.

Joachim calls potbets on the K54 flop and the 3 turn.
On the river, the 2 gives Joa a straight.

Opponent has KK for a set.

Yves Bormans has 35.500

Also Jerry Vandyck is doing very well, with a 36k stack in front of him.
Jerry was part of Team Belgium when they won silver during the European Team Championship in Prague in 2013.

Jerry misses his flush draw probably.

We pick it up at the flop where he calls a 700 raise (82JA and two clubs)

The river brings the Jack of diamonds and Jerry checks and the other player bets 1200. Jerry folds and I get to see Kc

Werner Willekens (JRPC) is out but in a very crazy way.  LP raised preflop but get"s repopped by Werner in one of the blinds. LP thinks it over and announces he"s allin.Werner insta calls his Aces.
I"m standing with Joachim and he whispers "carefull, this is a 777 gaming room, -> Window card is a 7 and werner goes out too early in the game.

At our desk he mentions the player is strange since he limped in aces before and plays worse hands than that this agressive. We might see Werner back though since re-entry is still open.

A winner and a looser for Yves Bormans.

He first takes down a pot on the flop. The next hand he throws it off after the turn which pairs the board.

Niki Raskin on Yves right plays about 11k !

On table 3, it"s folded to Rinaldo Aquino on the button, and he makes it 450 (blinds 75/150).

The SB calls, as does Nick Stas in the BB.

Flop:  Jd 7c 4c

SB and BB check-call a 650 bet from Rinaldo.

Turn: Qh

Checked to Rinaldo who bets 1300; which is enough to get rid of both blinds.

Nick Stas: 25.000
Rinaldo Aquino: 22.000

A few other chipcounts:
Remy De Roover (26-3) - 15.000
Jan Kusters (26-8) - 15.000
Stanny Sommen (26-7) - 10.800
Guy Baete (6-7) - 6.500

Rieuwert Fleer is out and hits the cashier for a 2nd bullet.
Preflop his all in with AQ doesn"t improve against KK.

We also lose Pasqual Lenior, our Crazy Pineapple runner up. But he will not be making a 2nd attempt.

The pot of the day so far (approx 70k) was played at the JRPC table of Brahim and Frank Vandeven.

We haven"t seen the hand being played but apparantly it was a three way allin on the flop.
Flopped flus vs nut flush draw vs two pair. Frank Vandeven plays the pot almost break even while Brahim takes the biggest chunk so we were told !!! Johnny Rockets Poker Club rule table 15.

Bert Geens just arrived and will take a seat at table 5.

Joachim Wallaert keeps building a stack, when he calls a preflop all in with his KK. He is up against QQ.
Board runs out 2K7JT, and he adds about 20.000 chips. His stack of 66.350 is certainly in the top 5.

Ken Vandeplas just won a nice pot when his opponent moves all in on the turn. The board reads J494.
Ken has an easy call with 44. He is now back to 22.000.

Jerry Vandyck is at 31.000

165 entries, 120 left
Final level before the dinner break (and end of late registration).

Bart Drossaert let"s it go on the river.

Flop 5Q7 and both players check
Turn 7 and SB player checkraises Bart to 2200. BArt makes the call.
River another Q and the SB player bets out 3.3k this time. Bart let"s go and is left with 8k on blinds 150/300 A 25
Title:
Post by: Quadran666 (Christoff Apat.be) on January 17, 2015, 16:41:22 PM
Jerry Vandyck does it and he takes down a pretty pot.

Preflop action:
Jerry in MP raises to 650 and UTG calls.
Flop 6h6s8s
Jerry makes it 750 to go this time and the UTG player pushes his entire 33 BB stack 11.1k in total.
Jerry isn"t happy about this move and takes a little time to make this huge call.
Jerry"s QQ relains standing against the A2o from his opponent. Turn read a scary deuce but thr iver was a blank Jack.

Jerry stacks 36k again.

With almost 6 levels gone, we have noticed 1 very important thing: the atmosphere in the room and amongst the players is absolutely FANTASTIC!

And that is what APAT is all about...

During the break we will head for dinner first, and then bring you the chipcounts of a few notables in the field.
After the dinner break we will also be able to give you the final player numbers, as well as the payout.

With a few minutes on the clock at level 6 Frank Vandeven needs a re-entry.

The hand before he looses quite a bit of his stack versus turned trip and he"s left with 5k.
The next hand he calls prefrop but Brahim, the other JRPC player raises to 2.1k. Another player makes the call and frank pushes his remaining chips to the middle. BRahim makes the call and gets an allin reraise by the SB player and Brahim decides to fold.

SB: KK
Frank: Js9s

Board 5653Q and no help for Frank.

177 players in total for this main event and we"ll pay out 27 players. Prize pool is soon to follow.

Bart Drossaert is out in the mean while. He"s all in and gets called by 3 players. Flop 957. One of the three shoves on this flop and gets one more caller.

Final shover shows 77. Bart hit his nine. The third player chases a flush. The sevens remain as the best hand.

What a way to end the tournament for Steven Vanroose.

I pick up the action when a discussion is going on:

Steven"s opponent must have thought he called but put in two wrong green chips of 5k instead of 25. Steven Vanroose pushes following that action. Than a the discussion starts since the player states he only wanted to call but since he made no announcement and the amount he put over the line is far more than a regular raise the chips will stay in the middle (call by the floor). He is mad  and Steven"s opponent also pushes since he wants to go home then.

Steven Vanroose: AA
Opponent: KTo

Flop 4 2 5 rainbow
Turn a King
River a TEN !!!!!

"Justice" he shouts holding his KT high and Steven must leave the field totally defeated.

Don"t worry Steven. It"s luckboxing, not justice.

The one and only "Sheriff" stands at my table claiming to play 60k.

Haven"t seen him play a hand so far but he final tabled in Namur last year at our event so he"s definately a player to keep our eyes on.
Title:
Post by: Quadran666 (Christoff Apat.be) on January 17, 2015, 19:13:46 PM
And we loose Frank Vandeven.

He"s allin on the flop (pot at 20k) for 11k. The flop is T96

He gets called after quite some thinking by Queens and Frank himself opens Kings

Turn is harmless. The riverqueen kills his tournament.

Joachim Wallaert won"t cash in the main event for THE RED JACKS POKERTEAM.

Preflop allin with QQ and he runs the hand against AcKc

Flop comes with 2 clubs but no A or K. Turn ends it quickly for Joa with 3c

River doesn"t matter.

Yves Bormans is the only Teamplayer left ikn the main event but we also have Christopher Ruytinckx in the side event.

And we also lose Rieuwert Fleer on a misread as he claims himself.

He opens pocket 5"s and the SB calls. On a 934 flop Rieuwert makes a c-bet and the small blind shoves. Rieuwert is sure the SB holds overcards and calls. SB held Tens.

A few reseats since we"re down to 81 players.

We have a couple of very interesting tables while we fall below 80 players.

As mentioned before, Stijn Cornelis and Thierry "Sheriff" De Quick are seated next to each other. Both players were on the BAPC Final Table in Namur back in September.

At the same table we have Jan Kusters.

Table 8 still has 2 Player of the Year contenders side by side, Niki Raskin and Yves Bormans.

On table 9, Online Gold Medalist Diederik has been eliminated a while ago; but Silver Medalist Bart Helsen is still going strong. Next to him is Bert Liekens, another Namur Final Table player!

We did start the day with 3 players from that Final Table; and all 3 are still in.
"Sheriff" actually bubbled the official Final Table, busting in 10th place.

Also Tom Deschuytter is still in, he finished 11th in Namur.

With a deep run, any of these 4 players can take the lead in the POTY ranking!

We lost quite a few players:

Benito
Jan Kusters
Kris Thys
Wouter Depuydt
Jerry Vandyck

Jerry Vandyck first tripples with 89 vs AJ -> 4T286 flop. Then he gets reseated and moves allin on JTo. The call squeeze by EP player with AQ follows quickly.

Board 377KK and he"s gone.

Our KT guy does it again !!!

He raises allin and already puts on his coat when Sheriff makes the call.

Sheriff: AKo
Dutch guy: Ad9d and a little dominated... again.

5d6s5s2dKd and Sheriff doubles our lucky man.

We saw a 4 way allin at the last four hands:

AKo vs A9s vs QQ vs 89s

6J3T5 board and the queens dodge all the bullets in this hand.
