Title: How to play this type of poker?

So I saw this episode in Friends where they were playing poker and i was wondering what type of poker they were playing and how to play it? The usual poker i see on tv are played with two cards but in this episode, the group played with five cards each.

It"s 5 card draw... It"s considered the "simplest" poker variety, so this is the form of poker that people used to learn first... of course now its NLH.
