Title: Luton Main Event
Post by: Hammerite on August 06, 2008, 16:33:08 PM
I see from the Blue Square betting that both Tighty and Tikay are entered for the Luton Gukpt main event which starts on Thursday August 7th.

I would like to wish both of them and any other Apat entrants the very best of luck. For those interested in a punt they are both 250/1.

;)

Good luck fellas.  Scouse has a chance if he stays sober ;).

Darren has a hell of a game, and could surprise a lot of people in this.  Not us of course, "cause we know he can do it.

i have his phone number so ill ring him and find out. I was meeting him tomorrow, he tolds me at the start of this week that he hoped to quilfy and he was playing the side game on thursday, but he never said he had quilified. I just saw my odds at 250-1. could some one tell me if i can back myself each way and would that mean i am paid out for making the final table.

cheers scouse, good to hear you quilified and thanks for the phone call, hope to see you on the final. Feeling more confident now - not really played live apart from high staked friends games so i spent last week getting in some proper live games in leagues and casinos in the area. Played 6 games cashed in at four of them and out of them four i won two so given me a bit of confidence in playing live but the nerves are something new. Anyway what will be will be, ill pray to lady luck tonight and ill see you on sunday???

im out, had an extra pulse in my pants. Imagine live game and you are sitting inbetween dave smith and scouse and across the table the anti torn fav is eyeing your chip (can not remember his name 66-1 fav). I have to hank scouse and dave smith who were great and mentored me well. I was so nervious and the first hand i played did not go well. It was dave smith to my right who was aggressive when he bets. I call and hit two pair on the flop. dave kept betting, i was calling and he had two pair and kickered me. Not the start to hold you nerves. Never mind all experience, not the first out which was my main aim but with teddy sheringham playing that was never going to happen. Had a good time and once agin that you scouse for all your guidance and if anyone sees dave smith tell him i owe him a lemon tea.

as for scouse going out i think it was probably more like beer over beer than trips over trips.lol

Post by: scouse3465 on August 09, 2008, 20:15:28 PM
it was not one hand that done for me it was a couple of semi bluffs that didnt go well and flush over flush when i was button and big blind caught bigger flush although i had straight flush draw shame it didnt hit that way lol !!
One of the calls dave smith made on me was unreal , 3 hearts on board i called then check raised him when fourth heart come out and he called me without a heart we both checked blankl on river and split the pot with the same hand lol !! genius or lunacy i couldnt have called check raise without a heart but that maybe why he s a pro and i aint ! And he is one of the friendliest blokes you can meet top bloke
nice meeting you ed , i am sure you learned a lot unlucky to run into qq when you shove with AQ
I should have cashed in side event too after i was knocked out but aces cracked when all in pre flop for big pot shorter stack than me all in someone else calls i re raise all in get called shorty AQ other KQ , Q on  flop and obviousy k on river lol that was with 20 odd left i would have give me an above average chip stack but never mind !!

nice to meet you too and thanks for your help. I made some fundimental mistakes as you know, first time nerves. Good expereince for me but what a first time table for me. Once again thank you for the mentor job you did with me and appriciate it, i will give you a proper game in the APAT on blue square very soon.
