Today I am going to be keeping an eye on Bill Sheppard. He came second in this event last year and is looking to go one better.

Yesterday saw him go down to less than 2 big blinds not once, but twice and saw him rebuild to a very playable 30k.

Blinds will be 1000/2000 with a running ante of 300.

Good luck to all of our remaining players.

Hand on the feature table sees Steve Roderick add a healthy 30k+ to his stack:

Small blind, Craig Dawson, raises pre flop to 8k
Rodders in the big blind makes the call.

They both check a flop of  Qs  10h 2d

The turn brings us the 2h and sees Craig bet 8.5k, Rodders confidently calls.

The river is the  10s

Craig bets 26k, Rodders counts out the call...gives Craig a look up and down...and pushes all-in. Craig instantly folds and Rodders scooped the pot without contention.

Stuart Dakin is next out, his pocket Jacks losing to pocket Aces, all in pre flop.

Post by: Des on October 04, 2015, 12:20:13 PM
Steve Kearns is next out in 22nd.

Steve Roderick called a small raise pre flop with Kings.

Kearns calls with Ace Jack off.

Flop is 7 4 J.

Rodders bets 12k

Kearns shoves.

Craig Dawson who was in the hand up to that point, folds.

Rodders calls and the turn and river don"t help Kearns.

Bill Sheppard doubles up courtesy of Steve Roderick.

Bill"s  ad1 8c proving to be better than the  Ah Kd of Rodders.

Currently now on approx 50k

And on the feature table...

The board runs out  10c 8c 7d 4h 5c (suits not accurate)

And the dream is over for Bill Sheppard!

After his double up earlier on, he appeared to be pretty card dead and found himself with 30k with blinds at 1500/3000.

Following a small raise, Bill pushes the last of his chips over the line with  Ah 5h and Craig Dawson looks him up with  7d 7h

The board comes  3h 4d 10d Kc 8c and we lose Bill in 20th place.

Dawson re-raises to 41k

Bradbury ships for 120k

Ah 10h for Dawson
Ac A s for Bradbury.

Fairly sizeable hand between Jacob Anderson and Craig Dawson.

Four spades on the board by the river, including the  Ks

Dawson is holding the  Qs
Andersen the  A s

Pot is more than 120k by the river and Dawson bets 47k with Andersen raising to 147k.
Dawson calls and sees the bad news that Andersen is holding the only card that beats him.

And we are down to 7 players.

Martin Norbury pushed his remaining 66k in pre-flop.

Andersen called and Dawson also pushed from the seat to his left.

Andersen asked for a count but folded  5c 5s

Norbury shows  Kc 9c

Dawson has  7d 7c

Board comes  2d 3s 4h 6d 10c and Norbury leaves us in 8th place collecting £400.

A shock exit!!

We have a board of  9h Js 4c 6s Qc

Jacob Andersen makes a bet and Craig Dawson moves all in.

Andersen thinks for a bit...then chucks a chip in to indicate the call.

Dawson looks instantly despondent and turns his  Ah 5c only to be shown the  9s 7s to mean he is our 7th place finisher.

He collects £460, and very well played to him.

Jacob Andersen is now sat with just over 1m in chips giving him almost 50% of the chips in play with 6 players remaining.

But, it isn"t over until it is over and anything can happen...

Steve Bradbury doubles up again!

Jacob Andersen raised to 22k pre

Bradbury calls from the small blind.

The flop is  7s 9d 6c

Bradbury bets 30k
Andersen calls

Turn is  Qc

Bradbury bets 30k
Andersen calls

River is  5c

Bradbury says "oh, have you caught that flush again?" and checks.

Andersen pushes all in and is very quickly called by the smooth talking Bradbury who flips  9c 7c

Andersen mucks and Steve is now up to around 500k

Down to 5 now guys

Having been sat very quietly for quite some time, Peteris Brambat finds  Ah 9d and pushes for 180k

Steve Timmis wakes up with  Jd Jh and makes a fairly swift call from the big blind.

The board plays out  9d 5s 4c 3h 4h and after a close chip count, Brambat is just covered and is sent to the rail in 6th place.

He collects £590, very well played.

Rough chip counts for our remaining five are as follows:

Jacob Andersen - 800k
Steve Bradbury - 550k
Steve Timmis  - 350k
Kayode Brown - 400k
Harry Zammit - 100k

Average stack is 423k

They are in seat order...

Interesting hand here between mid stacked Kayode Brown and Harry Zammit.

Brown raises, Zammit re raises and this causes Brown to think...and think...and talk...and think...eventually Zammit calls a clock on him and Brown makes the decision to raise all in.

Zammit quickly calls.

Brown has  3s 3h

Zammit has  Qs Qd

The board is  5s 6h 5h Kc 7h

Kayode is crippled and Harry doubles to 400k+

Kayode Brown pushes the next two hands pre flop. the first one gets through uncontested but the second is looked up by Jacob Andersen.

Brown shows  Ac Ks

Anderson has  Ah Jd

The flop comes  9h Jh A s

and the  Qh turn and  5s river see Kayode Brown become our 5th place finisher.

He collects £820, well played.

That means we are on the medal bubble at four handed...

Good luck to the four remaining players.

The medals seem to have had an impact on the players and play has tightened up and slowed down significantly...Jacob Andersen is the latest beneficiary of a walk pre flop and, with a stack containing over half the chips in play, he needed it!

Steve Timmis has been slowly but surely building his stack, little pots here and there without getting to showdown.

He is currently on around 450k.

We have just entered level 20

Blinds are 10,000/20,000 with a running ante of 2,000

Not a huge amount of movement in chips in the last level, a lot of small pots won pre flop and on the flop. Very few turn cards or river cards.

Those medals have their importance...and a big jump in prize money between 4th and 3rd.

Great updates again this weekend! Nice one :)

Good luck to those remaining! Will we see back-to-back LPPL winners? Exciting stuff :)

The players have agreed to have their scheduled ten minute break early instead of at the end of this level.

We will be back in ten minutes, let"s see if a break can put some energy back into the table or turn the cards.

And we are back, still in Level 20 for a further 25 minutes.

Steve Bradbury woke up with aces following a raise from Andersen and pushed all in. But Andersen got out of the way and Steve collected the pot.

Well, the break did the trick...

Harry Zammit raises, Jacob Andersen re-raises and Zammit shoves.

Andersen calls and flips  A s 10s

Zammit has  Qs Ks "those were the worst two cards you could have had for me"

Board runs out at  4c Ac 3s  Qd 9s and Harry Zammit finishes in 4th place.

He collects £1190

The medal bubble has burst and the remaining 3 players will all receive medals, now to determine who gets what...

With the luck I have rode this weekend I was actually astounded that the  2h or  A s never fell for me....

Very hard weekend but what an experience for grinding and building a chip stack from nothing... TWICE

We have just seen Steve Bradbury fold Queens pre flop to a raise from Steve Timmis and an all in by Andersen.

Both got out the way of the monster stack"s shove and his Ace King didn"t have to run the race.

Andersen is currently sat on over 1.4m chips and has a dominant chip lead.

We are heads up!!

Steve Timmis pushed all in with  Qh 8h and was called by the Qc Jh of Jacob Andersen.

The board comes out  3c Js 5c 2s 5h and Steve Timmis finishes in 3rd place.

He collects £1760 and the Bronze medal. Very well played to him.

Going into heads up, Steve Bradbury is the underdog facing Jacob Andersen with around a 2:1 chip lead.

Bradbury has around 700k

Andersen around 1.4m

Good luck to both players.

And it is all over, we have our new European Champion!

Steve played his heart out but it proved to be too big a mountain to climb.

He shipped his last 650k ish with  Kc 4c

Andersen looks him up with  Ac 3c

The board runs out with  Ah 2h 2c 6d 10h

Steve Bradbury is our runner up and receives £2750 and the silver medal.
