Back with a bang and there have been a flurry of double ups.
A notable one being Brendan Johnston against Nerijus Simonavicius.
Board runs out 7h Qs 4h 9c 5h
Big bets on the river and a shove from Simonavicius is eventually called by Johnston.
Johnston shows 6s 8c for the straight but Simonavicius has Ah Qh and doubles up.
-
We have lost our last Belgian friend only a few out of the cash.
Greert Sluyts shipped with Ac Qd but could not outwit his opponents Ah A s and he hits the rail.
Very unlucky and well played.
-
We are hand for hand for the money...it is getting very tense...
-
We are one off the Bubble and David Lynes pushes all in for 50k on a Board of 3s 10h 9s 5s
Ryan McGrath makes the call and David shows Ac 5d, only to be devastated when Ryan tables Qs Ks and David is drawing dead and departs in 29th spot.
-
On the Button and Konrad Janowski pushes All In for 40k and Mark McGuinness makes the call.
Konrad 6h 6s and Mark Qh Jd
Board 2d 4s 8d Qc 2c and we lose Konrad on the Bubble.
-
Ben Cook has just had a nice little scoop in taking out Florian Blanquart.
Ben has Kd Qd against Florian"s Kh Kc and they get it all in pre flop.
The board runs out very unfavourably for the Blanquarts kings - 6d 3d 5s on the flop, 9s on the turn and the fatal 10d on the river seals it.
Ben is now sat on around 108k.
-
Another big hand sees Brian Backhaus push pre flop with 9c 9d .
They hold on a 8c 5h 10s Kd Ks board against David O"Brien"s Ad Qs and Backhaus doubles up.
-
-
-
In other news, Ben Cook - the last remaining player from the LPPL entourage, has climbed up to 200k.
Good luck to him, it will be a nice lively rail if he goes deep...
-
Clement Beauzon pushes for 104k from mid position and not only finds callers but Sian Thompsen pushes in SB for an additional 110k and Robert Blaauwgeers in BB makes the Call
Clement 10h 10d Sian Ac Kd and Robert Ad Kh
Board of 6d 6s Jc 2h 9c and Clement trebles up.
-
Blinds at 4000 / 8000.
UTG raised double the blind to 16k which was called by Ivan Yatsenko in seat 5. SB folded ad the BB called.
3 Players waiting for the flop;
6c Jd Ac
Bet 22K was made and called by the other two.
Turn 7c
Bet by Mark Mcquinnes with 42K with Ivan calling BB folded
River Qh
check followed by a 47K bet by Ivan
Called by Mark Mcquinness had Ah Qc
Ivan Yatsenko Hand won with Kc 9h having hit the straight on the river.
-
One of "those" hands, on table 50 here.
Jamie Cusack raises pre flop and gets two callers.
Flop comes down Qh As 6c and we see Cusack check and Mark McGuinness bets.
The third player involved folds and Cusack check raises all in. McGuinness snap calls.
McGuinness shows Ad 6d for two pair
Cusack has Ac Jc for one pair
The turn of 8s makes no difference and it looks like it might be all over for Cusack...
The Qd on the river however, changes everything and gives Cusack the better two pair and he doubles up.
-
Blinds 4000 / 8000.
All in by the small stacked Thibald Salles.
Called by Bryan Backhaus followed by all-in by Sian Thompson.
Quickly called by Bryan. Possibility of losing two players in one hand.
Bryan 10s 10c
Sian Qc Qs
Thibald Ah Jh
Cards;
5d 6d Ks Kh Kc
Nice pot landed with full house and keeps Sian in the game. Unfortunately the last hand for Thibald.
-
-
Keith McFadden raises in mid position and is called in late position. At this point Nerijus Simonavicius, fairly short stacked, pushes all in over the top.
McFadden re ships to isolate and the caller folds.
Simonavicius has Js Jh
McFadden has 7d 8c
The board runs out as Ad 5s Kc Jd 10d
Simonavicius doubles up to a much healthier stack.
-
Things have slowed down here as the stacks have evened out a little and the pace has slowed down somewhat.
A few short stacks and one or two big leaders but the majority are around average stack.
We are in the last five miutes of Level 17, after which, players will be on a fifteen minute break.
-

Oh, and best of luck to Sian Thompson - long term APAT-er.

UTG Clement Beauzen raises for 45k.
After much deliberation Mark McGuiness raises all in. (around 360k)
Rest of the table folds and action is back with Clement who calls showing Ah Kh

We are down to 11 players following the loss of Gary Spencer, Brendan Johnstone and Mark Gray.
Ben Cook has had a swing in the right direction over the last level or so.
He doubled up with Qh Qd against A s Kh all in pe flop.
Board ran out Qc Ah 10d Ad 7c
I caught the end of a hand between him and Skipp Van Dem Assem.
Board of 10d 4h Ah Qc Jh
Big bet on the river and Ben thinks for a little while and calls.
He shows his Ad 6s and Skipp mucks.
This puts Ben on about 625k.
Very next hand sees Skipp call on the button, Ben completes in the small blind and the big blind checks.
Flop comes over 4d 9s 6h
Checks from the blinds, Skipp bets 26k, Ben calls and Big blind folds.
The turn is the 9c and both players check.
The river is the 7s
Ben bets 42k and Skipp instantly calls him.
Ben flips 4c 4h for a full house and Skipp mucks but declares the straight.
After a nice little run, Ben is now on around 750k.
-
With a pot of circa 80k and a Board Qc 8c 6d 10d, Mark McGuinness in the SB bets 46k, Alexandre Richardot in BB min raises and Ivan Yatsenko gets out of the way.
River brings a 3rd club, being 9c, and Mark after 10 or so seconds announces all in and Alexandre snap calls, Mark having him covered.
Alexandre shows 9d Js having hit a straight on the Turn,
however Mark tables Jc Kc for 2nd nuts on the River and a dejected Alexandre walks to the rail shaking his head...
not sure if that is because of the beat or the min raise on the Turn.
-
Great updates Lucy :) Good luck to those remaining, in particular LPPLer Ben! :)

Massive chip movement with this hand.
Small raise pre flop sees Mark McGuinness and Robert Blaauwgeers go toe to toe and a checked flop of Qc 3s 4s
The turn comes the 10c
Robert checks, Mark makes it 60k to go, Robert re raises to around 150k
Mark thinks for a little while and ships.
Robert, the shorter of the two stacks with 640k, instantly calls.
Robert has 4c 4d
Mark has 9h 10d
The river is the 3s but matters not and Robert doubles up through Mark.

Ben wins a nice pot on a Board Qc 4s 9h calling a bet from Robert of 100k, both checking the 6s Turn and Ben taking it down with 100k bet on 2s river.
Then 30 mins of play sees chips slowly move to Robert with numerous min/double BB bets and taking lots of hands down by the Turn.
Robert is making lots of min bets... makes it up from 45k to 90k, Ben calls, Board 8c 9d 9c, Robert bets 110k Ben calls... Turn 5s and Ben calls a 140k bet to see a River 3c and calls a 370k bet from Robert... only for Robert to immediately say Kings and Ben to reluctantly folds (saying he hit two pair on Flop...)
Ben 2.2m... Robert 3.3m...
