#17 Main Event

And we have our first casualties in the Main Event.

Departing first is George Evans followed by Mantas Zeringis, and swiftly by Adam Adeleke when he gets his short stack all in holding A s 7s against 5h 5s and doesn"t improve and leaves us in 85th position, followed by Gladys Long in 84th.

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Martin O"Shea raises to 5k pre from a 30k stack and gets moved on by Kristian Davies for around 20k.

Martin makes the call saying "I have to, I don"t want to" and turns Ks Jd

Kristian, already stood up, shows Ah 2c

Surely enough Qh Kh 6s flop and Martin takes the lead. Kristian is at risk and needs running hearts or an ace...

8h on the turn for the sweat...

5d on the river, red, but not enough to save Kristian and he goes out in 83rd place.

#17 Main Event

Vince Eley gets his stack in with Ah 9c and is called by the A s Qh

Board runs out Jc 10s 5c Jh and Vince needs a 5 or 10 for a split or a 9 to take the pot,  alas the 7c ends his run this year.

Dann Williams pushes for 36k holding Ah 2c only to be called by A s Kc, and with Kh on Flop it doesn"t get any better for Dann and he goes to the rail in 81st place.

A sneak exit, bound to happen here and there, means that when Peter Burgon busts William Funnell

- Peter"s Kc Kd already dominating William"s 10c 10h but are joined by the Kh just to be sure -

he finishes in 80th place.

Ian Thompson on a hot table in seat 9, although not involved in any action we"ve seen so far...

Stanislov Spasov, vocal in seat 8, double"s up Luke Fuller"s Ad Qc on a Board As 2c 6c Kc 6h

-------

Seat 3 Chuc Khuu stay alive and doubles up to 65k when his Kh Kc stays ahead of Stanislov"s Qc 5d, killing Stanislov on Turn with Kd

-------

Stanislov again in the action, this time all in with A s Qh and stays alive with Flop Kh Ah Jc...

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Same table and we see a confused "all in" from Stanislov Spasov as he moves everything, including his card and blind, across the line, only just saying "all in" in time. The floor is called and it stands.

Chuc Khuu makes the call.

"My favourite hand" declares Stanislov as he kisses his cards - 7c 4c
Chuc is ahead, and has Stanislov covered, with Ks Js

7h Qd 3s and Stanislov"s hand improves to take the lead.

Jc on the turn and Chuc takes it back!!

Ad on the river and Stanislov is out.

----

Exits flying in from all around the room as we lose:

William Davies
Leo Lim
Lukas Daszynski
Santhu Thiyagaraj

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Bechir Sahli and Simon Matta get it all in pre, Bechir short and at risk following a big hand earlier today.

Bechir Ac 10d

Simon Kc Kd

Jc 6h 4d A s 6s

Bechir doubles.

------

A few hands later and it is Simon Cracknell now taking on Bechir!

This time, it is Simon C"s 6s 6d that cannot improve against Bechir"s 10s 10c and Simon loses a large chunk of chips.

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Blinds at 2000/4000, ante 400.

Not much later, and Simon is involved again!

Simon moves all in, following his big loss to Bechir, and is called by Frederic Gautrin.

The count is done and Simon gets 2.5k back and shows A s 10d
Frederic has Ac Qs he is ahead but at risk (just)

2h 8c 9s 9h Jh and Frederic gets the double up.

------

Simon, left with just 2.5k is all in next hand. Simon Matta goes all in over the top and everyone else folds.

Simon M. takes a small profit from that and has Qs 10d

Simon C. has 9d 9s and looks good but he is at risk.

Qh first card out...not so good for Simon C.

Qh 5c Ks 6s 10h

Simon M. rivers two pair but didn"t need it and he sends Simon Cracknell to the rail.

------

Elsewhere, we quietly lose Mark Morris and 60 players remain.

Johan Ramirez goes to the rail in 59th when his Qd 9h all in for 1 x BB doesn"t improve against 10c 10d

Johan is swiftly followed... Phillip Chan calls the all in of Simon Noaman holding As 2s, with Simon comfortably ahead with Ah Ks..

Flop Js 3s 5s however, and Turn Jc followed by River 4d gives Phillip the straight and Simon departs in 58th place...

#17 Day 2 Main Event

On the feature table:

Following raises pre flop, the pot is sizeable, Danny Strange and Matt Carter are in play and the three cards in the middle are 7h 8h A s

Matt leads out for 26k.

Danny raises all in. Matt asks for a count - 137k and makes the call.

Matt flips Ah 10h for top pair and nut flush draw.

Danny shows 7c 8c for two pair. He is ahead but at risk.

10d on the turn and Matt takes the lead! Danny needs a 7 or an 8 to remain in the tournament.

6d on the river is close, but not close enough and Matt takes a massive pot and Danny is off to the rail - not too disappointed with his week - Gold Medal/Bracelet finish and Bronze Medal finish.

#17 Day 2 Main Event

The feature table has a little spurt of action:

First we see Justin Hazeldene move all in and Marcin Rejmac moves all in over the top.

Everyone else out of the way sees Justin turn over Ac Ks

Marcin has Justin covered and at risk and is ahead showing Kd Kh

The flop is 3d 9c 5s - Marcin keeps the lead

2c on the turn and Justin now has to hit an ace or a 4 to keep his tournament journey going...

8s on the river and Justin is sent to the rail.

------

Then, next hand, Vicky Lambert moves all in with a relatively short stack and is called by Matt Whiting.

Matt has Jd Js
Vicky, with Kc Qd - she is behind and at risk

The flop puts Vicky ahead with 4d Qh 10s

But the Jc on the turn sets her back and the 3d sends her out of the tournament.

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Craziness after the break and we have a 3 way all in:
Lisa Tan has the most chips and calls with Jc Jh
Joel Holmberg is at risk from Lisa and has Ac 10d
Richard Andrew has fewest chips and holds Kc 3s

The flop is 3h 4d 2d

Lisa still best but options for Joel and Richard...

Turn is Qc Lisa still ahead and set to take out 2 players.

5s on the river spoils her plans and Joel makes the straight. He eliminates Richard in 48th place.

-----

It isn"t long before Peter Burgon gets it all in with A s Ks against Lisa Greer"s Jd Js

Peter is behind and at risk.

6s 10d 3s gives Peter more hope with the flush draw.

He is noisily shouting for it....

Kc on the turn will do and Peter takes the lead.

6h sees him keep the lead and get the double.

-------

Within a few hands, Pat Costello finds all his chips in the middle against Marco Vascencelos

Pat has A s 10c

Marco has Ac Kd and has Pat covered.

10d in the window as he dealer puts out the cards...but, hiding behind it is Ks 9h

3s Jc on turn and river mean that Pat is sent to the rail.

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Pat"s exit puts the tournament on the cash bubble and, therefore, into "hand for hand" mode.

It doesn"t take many hands and what a hand it is:

Matt Whiting, on the feature table, raises to 18k

Chuc Khuu moves all in for around 36k

Marcin Rejmac makes it 56k and Matt makes the call.

With two players still with chips behind, we go to a flop - no hands shown.

Js 4h 10s

Matt checks and Marcin reaches for chips but Matt folds.

Marcin rolls over Jc Jd for top set.

Chuc groans in frustration and slams his Ad A s down.

Qd on the turn gives him extra outs for the straight...

But 7h means Marcin"s set is enough to send Chuc to the rail as our bubble boy.

Congratulations to everyone else for making the money.

Down to 24 players with blinds at 6k/12k, 1k antes.

Bechir Sahli moves all in for around 150k

No improvement with 3d turn and Kc river and Bechir Sahli finishes in 24th for £330.

Last hand before the break and we lose Mark Shelley; on a 5h 4c 6d flop, the chips all go into the middle.

Mark shows 6s 4c for two pairs

Andy Dodson has 8c 8s

Mark is ahead but at risk...

The turn is 5s and the board pairs to give Andy a better two pair, Mark needs to improve or he is out.

Js on the river and it is no good. Mark is out in 23rd place for £330.

Frederic moves all in for around the 350k he sat down at final table with and is called by Marco.

Frederic has 2h 2d and is at risk

Marco has 8h 8s and is ahead. Frederic needs to find a 2.

10h 8c 3d on the flop and Frederic now needs both the 2's or he will be eliminated

Ad and it is all over, with the 4h just to complete the hand.

The table and rail give him a round of applause as he leaves the table, respect for a game well played.

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Balazs moves all in for around the 350k he started final table with.

Joel, our chip leader still, asks for a count...makes a little shrug of the shoulders, and flicks in a chip to make the call.

Joel shows Qh 5c

Balazs has Kc Qs

Balazs is ahead but at risk.

6h 8d 9h on the flop, Balazs still ahead...

5d on the turn and Joel takes the lead.

Balazs needs a king to survive...

But he doesn"t get there and the queen on the river hits both players but Joel improves to two pair to take the pot.

He also gets a warm round of applause from the table and rail, lovely atmosphere here at this final table.

Well, decide for yourselves folks...

Blinds 30,000/60,000 ante 5,000

Joel makes it 125k from under the gun and finds 3 callers - Kaveh on the button, Matt in the small blind and Andy in the big.

They all check a Qh 9s 6s flop and see a Qd turn

Matt checks and Andy checks behind. Joel bets 63k.

Kaveh says 220k.

Matt speedily gets out of the way and Andy makes the call.

As does Joel...river card...

Qc

Andy reaches for stacks of blues and bets 300k.

Joel folds and Kaveh says "all in" for around 650k total.

Andy fairly quickly picks up his cards...and folds.

Kaveh taps the table with his cards and mucks them.

He scoops a pot of around 1.2 million...

#17 Day 2 Main Event

Marco Vasconcelos
Kaveh Kiavand
Andy Dodson
Joel Holmberg

Blinds 40k/80k ante 5k

No one wants to go out on this final table.

A raise from Joel gets an all in from Marco and all the chips go in.

Ac 10c for Marco, who has Joel covered.

Joel has A s 6s and is behind and at risk.

He stands and puts his coat on as we see a flop of 9s Kc 4h

Nothing for either...

Kd on the turn brings "chopportunities" - a 4 or a 9 and they will split the pot...

9d on the river and Joel"s jacket comes back off as they split the pot and we are still 4 handed...
