Well it"s that time again...time for the braver souls of APAT to risk the barren wastelands of the northern hinterlands of the UK.

Yes....it"s time for another invasion of Yarm... spiritual home of the dread Stockton Massive.

Lucy Amos is arranging a Charity Poker night at the G Stockton on Friday 22nd July (7.30pm start) and this seems like a reasonable excuse (if one were needed) for a weekend away.

I don"t have full details as yet of the event but I"m sure those can be prised our of Luthee for the price of a Long Island Ice Tea.

For those of a like mind, the most reasonable hotel is the Premier Inn Stockton West (http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/calendar.html?searchModel.searchTerm=Stockton-On-Tees%20West&FLEXDATES=Yes&INNID=STOPRE&ARRdd=22&ARRmm=07&ARRyyyy=2016&NIGHTS=1&ROOMS=1&ADULT1=1&CHILD1=0&COT1=0&INTTYP1=DB&SID=4&ISH=true&BRAND=PI) where rooms (if boooking early can be had for under £40pn as of the time of writing.

Hi-jinks and large drinks can be expected.

Sadly, on every level, I am unable to attend. A very close friend passed away 20 years ago this year and her birthday was on July 22nd and we are marking the date in suitable fashion.  :"(

It"s always a cracking Weekend, plenty of pubs in Yarm to keep us entertained!

Hmmm gonna have to think about this one for a while. Yarm is a long away away and very expensive with questionable travel links, can"t we hold Yarm Invasion somewhere more central?

OK I will shut up and more importantly get booked up

Update

I spoke with G Casino, Stockton today and am pleased to be able to confirm that they have kindly agreed to donate a "Casino Experience Package" - drink, food and free gaming bet for 2 people, available to be used at any G casino (with a restaurant).
This will be an addition to the 2nd place prize and many thanks to them for this.

They have also agreed to donate a number of "Free £10 bets", to be used on the night, and these will be assigned randomly (or not) as "bounties" on the night.

More news!

We have been kindly donated 2 tickets to the Colts v Jaguars NFL game at wembley on October 2nd!

In order to maximise the money we are making for the charity, we are looking at doing a £20 last longer for the people in the tournament, the person who lasts the longest in the tourney will get the tickets!

This is fantastic value for these, the combined value if the tickets is probably approaching £200, and if we can raise that for the charity on top of the other money then it will be fantastic.

Not long to go now, but still time to get your name down and join the party with a load of APAT legends!

Morning all.

As the day is nearly upon us, Lucy has asked me to see if people can answer a few questions for is please :)

1 - who do we have definitely coming and playing the poker?

2 - Are there any donations for spot prizes/bounties etc (all bounties to be decided by random draw)

3 - We want to put some pictures of young Jack up in the card room, and we"re wondering if anyone know of any photo companies that could print us a few cheap or free large copies of photos off? Would be very much appreciated.

If you could all let me know by message on here, or facebook  that would be splendid :)

ALSO! We are looking at changing it from £30 with 1 RE-entry to £30 with a optional rebuy or add-on, simply to give us the maximum chance of making the most money we can for the charity. If anyone has a problem with this, let us know please!

Well, what a night we had :D

Firstly, a massive thank you to everyone who attended the night, I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

Second, thank you to everyone who helped out and donated prizes -especially Stuart - couldn"t have done it without his help, and to JP for a plethora of prizes.

Lastly, just, wow at the generosity of you beautiful,  wonderful people. We raised £1500!!! That"s just incredible and I am overwhelmed and doesn"t include those of you who couldn"t attend but donated so, thank you a hundred times.
